Ac system needs a new condensor and compressor due to leaking. . . . Car is not even 4 years old. . . This issue is ongoing and Honda has done nothing. . . . Not living up to reputation. . . This is my first and last Honda. I had to replace the battery in this car less than 3 years old and nothing was draining it. . . . This has been a pain in the butt experience. . . . I'm going back to toyoya. Honda refuses to deal with this ac issue that many of us are having when they are fully aware of it.
My car ac is blowing hot air since January 2019. My car is making sound whenever I turn on. February 28, 2020, my car was suddenly stopped when I was driving on the freeway.
Over 12 different times in the past 6 months since I purchased the car it has had serious electrical issues ranging from locking itself with the keyless fob inside the vehicle during a snow storm, all windows including moon roof rolling completely down during a rainstorm when parked or in motion. When parked, the alarm blaring non stop for hours and the battery dying completely without warning or drainage on my part of any kind. All systems on the car shut down completely after loss of power including the braking system and you can dive it that way. It brakes hard on its own on the freeway. There is a usb port in the center console right next to cup holder that can get wet if you have a drink in there. I notice the weather conditions were cloudy, raining, or snowing during the majority of the bigger issues.
System throws codes non stop recently electronic brake system light emission light saying trans and ecu aren't on same program. Every time I take to Honda they wanna blame the owner. I go there with tons of documents about how others having same issues but they won't do anything about this, I'm told I have to pay in order for them to diagnose the issue and that's with an extended warranty bwt. They will come up with every excuse not to help you, Honda is putting a lot of drivers in danger by not fixing these system and computer problems . I work for a Honda dealership I know what and how mechanics are instructed to do.
I purchase this car in June of 2019; I had the car for approx 5 months. I told the Honda dealer mechanic that something was wrong with the brakes when I bought it. I brought it back in September. They claim they checked the brakes and everything was find. I had a maintenance check and an oil check. A month in half later I experience the problem with the brakes I was complaining about in September. On 11/14/19 I drove my car to a location no problems. I parked the car . When I went back to turn on the car that's when the brake lights came on saying electrical brake problem. I read they had a recall on the electrical brake system. I wonder did this car ever got fixed from the recall. Turned my car on and the brake system light begin flashing stating electric parking brake problem. The red light continued blinking. The car was in park when this happen. The car was stationary. I drove the car on with the warning lights still on.
When I turn on the car all of the electrical lights turn on and the car locks, I can't move it from the p (park) shift. This has happened to me in the last 2 1/2 months, 3 times.
The vehicle experienced an intermittent but sudden and complete loss of braking power while driving on the highway moving at around 40mph. In part due to the low speed, the vehicle was safely maneuvered off the road once braking power was regained. The car dealership was able pin the issue to an electrical circuit failure in the brake control unit (Honda error codes v300-49 and v3003-68) and recommended changing the vsa modulator unit. Regular scheduled maintenance done on the vehicle just a month prior to the incident at the same dealership indicated no observed issues with braking. Attached is the invoice of the vsa unit replacement work performed as recommended.
Electronic brake assist is malfunctioning my VIN series is not covered yet u see the current recall. This car is a danger to me and my family and everyone on the road.
I have issues that have been reported previously and while the vehicle was under warranty. Now that the warranty is out the problem has been more severe. The 1st problem is the display for the radio, heating and cooling and the speed display has been effected some but not like the radio and cooling/heating display. It has gone blank, it has froze up. It has lost all functioning. The 2nd is the air compressor. It has a leak and apparently this is an issue with a lot of the tourings. People have replaced them and had the same issues. The displays have had problems both in drive modes and parked. I have googled on how to fix those issues and we have disconnected the battery to do the same. The cooling/heating system cools some times but not all the time.
All systems warning lights pop up on starting the car. I came home parked the car and started it 10 minutes later and all systems warning lights came on. Power steering, parking brake, brake failure, collision mitigation system, tpms, lane departure system, traction control system, hill assist system, abs system . All these warnings show up on the dash.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the air conditioner was blowing hot air. The contact drove the vehicle to browns Honda city (7160 ritchie hwy, glen burnie, MD 21061, (410) 553-8014) where it was diagnosed that the air conditioner compressor was cracked and a new one needed to be installed. The vehicle was not repaired because the dealer did not have the part. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 44,837.
Touch screen panel that controls the entire settings of the car over heats and blocks out making it very uncomfortable and upsetting not being able to control your /c settings or your radio and your phone. We have taken our 2016 Honda Civic touring that same year back multiple times in regards to this issue. However every time we took it they would replace it. Since then the touch screen panel has some what worked properly to the point where it was just slow in functioning but workable. This time on June 27, 2019 it has completly done the same thing we were facing in the beginning and this is stationary and in motion, I have tried resetting it by disconnecting the battery and joining cables together and it just didnt work it continues to not work properly since day of purchase. I would like for some one to help us resolve this issue and to replace our panel for a good working one.
Upon closing the car trunk the parking lights flashed & stayed on and the car "locked-up". The car could not be unlocked using either the key-bob or the key. This issue was reported to Honda (case #9624986) who basically ignored the issue stating that they had no knowledge of this issue. The car was parked in our driveway at the time. After about 30 minutes 'fooling' with the key and key-bob the parking lights went off and we were able to unlock & drive the car. There are numerous accounts of this issue found on the internet by "googling" "2016 Honda Civic doors won't unlock".
My 2016 Honda Civic air conditioning compressor failed and no longer blows cold air. I reviewed several Honda message boards and forums and discovered that this is a common problem with this model vehicle that homda refuses to acknowledge.
Vehicle was parked on driveway, when turned on it had battery and electric issues (battery just replaced by professional) ac blows out hot air (ac fluid just refilled as well by professional) and back door won't open from inside. Car was purchased less than two years ago and already malfunctioning.
The rear facing camera fails to display on the screen when the transmission is in reverse. This has happened 5-6 times since 01/01/2019. This has only been observed after initial startup.
Power window on driver's side when trying to auto close (wind up feature) it goes half way and then auto opens (goes back down). Noticed multiple times when stationary (both in park, neutral, and drive with foot on brake).
I purchased this vehicle from a Honda dealership vancouver, wa in 2016. Recently, the car alarm would go off randomly throughout the night. I took the vehicle into the dealership and the battery was checked and replaced. This did not solve the issue. I went in again to the dealership and they did a diagnostic check of electronic system and found security codes relating to hood switch in the security history. They suggested to replace the hood latch/switch assembly and recheck. Another person I spoke with, that had the same issue, claimed that replacing the hood latch assembly was unsuccessful. I asked about manufacturer's warranty since this item isn't covered by dealership warranty of 3 yrs/36k miles. The defect is from a part that is caused by an electrical issue and falls under manufacturing error and not a wearable part that has anything to do with warranty or something that fatigues over time. I wrote Honda regarding this. In the meantime, I cannot use my security system, that I paid for on the vehicle, due to it possibly draining my new battery. Honda (regional service manager) stated, over the phone, that they would not cover the cost of replacement and that it falls under their warranty of parts. This issue is hazardous because the sensor for the car alarm trips itself electronically when the hood is shut. This could possibly cause a fire and/or greater damage to the vehicle or others. Additionally, I drive for rideshare and this puts risk to my clients as well. The alarm sounds only when the car is locked and alarm set while parked. It occurs every few hours after alarm is set. After inspecting the hood myself, I could see no damage to the hood latch and would not need a replacement hood latch assembly. This issue is one of electronic nature, involving the car alarm sensor on hood latch, security system, and the electronic car maintenance monitoring system.
Not sure if it's the battery or the battery sensor but my car when I want to turn it on it'll not turn on and it would just flash all the lights in the board and won't fully turn on.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds the vehicle had experienced jerking and hesitation and on occasions while operating the vehicle multiple warning lights would suddenly display indicating failures with the braking system, steering, stability control etc. After turning the vehicle off and then restarting the engine the vehicle would operate as normal. The cause of the failures were not diagnosed and repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer apple Honda 1(801 whiteford rd. York PA. ) were both notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 45,000. Jft.
I got into the trunk of my Civic (keyless) and when I tried to open the car, everything had shut down and it is locked and won't respond to the emergency key or the fob. This began 2 days ago and I see several other complaints o the internet of the same problem. It was parked in my driveway. Not being able to get into my car here in the arizona desert could be a serioue problem.
Electronic braking system car on able to move from park . Happened twice already . Showing up on dashboard .
Fuel is leaking into the oil. The dealer just suggested changing the oil more often. I know this is a defect but what can I do? the electrical system is not reliable. . . . One day my passenger window would not work from my control on the driver's side. Finally it did--this was when parked. They replaced once and then "updated" the infotainment system once because of very disruptive things that happen on the screen while driving. Once (this was parked) it totally locked up my iphone so that I could not use it even after I shut the car off (I was parked and had turned the car on ) and rebooted my phone! once I got locked out of my car after opening the trunk and closing it. . . My fob would not work and when I used the key, it set off the alarm, flashed the lights and reset all my personal settings. Sometimes the steering wheel radio controls lock up and don't work. Many times the radio screen goes black when I am driving and not touching it. One time it started beeping and would not stop. . . . Very dangerous as I try to drive with the beeping. And, my windshield wipers are very sporadic. . . . Does not matter if I try resetting them to auto. . . . When it is not raining they go crazy, when it is raining they stop. . . . Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I have to spend too much time trying to get the car systems to work while driving that this is as dangerous as can be. The electrical system of this car is a lemon. . . And has been from the start. I have at most about 9,000 miles on this car but started noticing glitches long before 6,000. This is the top of the line car in this model.
Trunk and windows open on their own. The vehicle is stationary, engine off, parked. Brake hold comes on automatically while driving at low speeds in city. Remote lock/unlock on key has intermittently not worked. While driving at high speeds on highway, doors kept locking and unlocking on their own. Very fearful about the electronics system. This has happened over the course of the past several months.
2016 Honda Civic leased in October of 2016. I had several error messages come on screen for multiple issues so I brought the car to the Honda dealership. Was told an animal chewed through several wires and caused the power steering to go out. Apparently this is a known issue as the dealership told me that this has happened multiple times to cars brought in. This is not covered under warrenty although it seems to be a manufacturing issue. So not only did I lose power steering while driving which is a severe safety concern especially while driving my 6 month old child in the vehicle, but its my responsibility to foot the $240 bill to repair the damage. Also there is no clear solution to prevent animals from again chewing the wires and putting my family and I at risk again. That is unless I take the advice from the dealership which is to stuff my hood compartment with fabric softner dryer sheets because animals do not like the smell which again brings up safety concernswith a potential fire hazard.
My 2016 Honda Civic coupe touring was parked in my attached garage at night with all windows and sunroof shut. In the morning when I went to the garage, both windows and the sunroof (which I never use) were wide open. In reading multiple car forums, this is not uncommon, however Honda refuses to admit there is an issue. I believe it has something to do with a fob function that is programmed to intentionally perform the windows/sunroof open function with the fob. However, this function has no means of deactivation!! this causes a risk to all contents of the car. Deactivation should be able to be made by car owner.
I received a letter stating that my car had a recall for the emergency brake system. I took it to the dealership to have it fixed however the recall is still open on my vehicle.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed, the instrument cluster went blank and became inoperable. The speedometer was spinning. Additionally, the air conditioner was blowing hot air. The vehicle was taken to carbone Honda of yorkville (5009 commercial dr, yorkville, NY 13495, where the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 36,000.
Sir/MA'am, I would like to address somewhat safety problem that many Civic have. Honda Civic has a center touch screen that controls radio, temperature and importantly shows rear view camera and right side camera. Today the center screen didn't even turn on and wasn't able to see an object rear and underneath of my car due to the screen not turned on. It is known issue for Civic community. I wish that NHTSA take a look into this issues.
After a year of purchasing the 2016 Honda Civic with 5 miles on it the bluetooth connection stopped working.
The ac has went out on two occasions. The first occasion was due to the system needing to be recharged. The second being a hose was not connected correctly. The back tweeter speakers went out and had to be replaced. 3 audio updates needed to be done. While driving the car stopped accelerating and the car started shaking. There was no brakes or power steering at this time. Different codes started lighting up the dash. I was able to get the car stopped and off the road into the ditch area. It is currently at Honda.
1) the ac only have cool air but it is not cold. It is not even as cold as the outside air. The technician said that the compressor and condenser is working fine, so it has to be the systems leaking air. 2) the front passenger window is occasionally cannot roll down by both buttons from driver or passenger side. It has to take a while and aggressively pushed down the button from passenger side multiple tike to be able to roll the window down. 3) touch screen intermitten automatically flickering like someone pressing on it.
While driving the vehicle on city streets the (brake hold) light turns on then it brakes the vehicle on its own in the middle of the road and turns on the (hold) light . In order to continue driving I need to restart the engine back on. This has 3 times already.
Steering wheel controls stopped working.
I am still having break system issues and not allowing me to gear and drive!since letter for recall in November, which already set appointment with dealership to reprogram or reboot system they stated would take care of,I have been back twice after that. I also have issues with the warning exclamation light flashing and was told all's fine the new cars are sensitive when take. My bluetooth connect acts up all time where not even being able to use ammenities paying for with car. I'm pissed because now outside movie theater with kids and stuck again break locked. Beyond a little inconvenience now. I have never had a bad experience with Honda until got this 2016 Honda Civic.
