My clutch pedal bracket is poorly made after doing research I realized this is a common issue with these cars, the pedal brackets can break while driving and cause an accident if you are stuck in a gear and can’t get out of it.

I bought my 2007 Honda Civic si on 12/29/07 with approximately 2,200 miles on it. From day one third gear would grind on occasion. On 4/2/08 after having the car 90 days I noticed the clutch slipping. The very next day I left home to go to the Honda dealer to have it checked and didn't make it there. My clutch burnt out. Honda has torn down the transmission and blamed me for "misuse". Honda America has declined any help towards payment. They want $1,400 for a new clutch. I have seen so many people with the same problems as I have had and I think it's about time Honda did the right thing for their owners.

09/04/2007 driving east on I-10, smelled something burning, engine would rev up but car would not go. Coasted over to shoulder (was almost struck in rear by large truck sounding his horn and locking his brakes; I could not accelerate out of his way). Car would shift but would not go. Had car towed to dealer. Invoice stated, "found clutch disc came apart. " car had only 26,232 miles on it. Replaced clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Cost $1098. 68.
I own a 2007 Honda Civic si. I have heard a popping type sound coming from underneath the car or on the drivetrain. I hear it when going into or out of driveways. I have taken it to the dealership and they don't know what is wrong with it. Also I have had problems with third gearin my transmission. It seems like it does not want to grab third gear. I had to have my clutch replaced at 4k miles. I was told it had to have been my "hard shifting". I was told if it happens again, I am responsible for the repairs. I have taken my car several times after this incident to prevent it from happening again, and they say they cant make my car do the same thing that happens when I drive it. I am very frustrated that Honda will not step up and take care of the problem. Instead they want to blame it on my "poor driving".
I bought a 2007 Honda Civic si on December 18, 2006. In less than 700 miles the clutch burned out. Honda America agreed to pay for the labor to repair it, but wanted me to pay for the parts. ( about $300) they also agreed to pay for a rental car for four days while my car was being repaired. I see no reason why I should have to pay for the parts, since I consider the problem to be a factory defect. The car has a six speed manual transmission. I know how to drive a standard, and I'm convinced that I did nothing to cause this problem.
My daughter was driving her standard new Honda Civic 2005 home from the dealer on may 9th. She had 60 miles on the car and was cruising in 4th speed at 45 miles an hour on i5 south in the seattle area when the car came instantly to almost a complete halt causing an intense jerking of the car. She was able to shift to neutral and coast to the shoulder with what minimum momentum she had left. As there was no impact the air bags did not deploy which most likely intensified the nature of her injury. Currently her radiology report states she has a fracture of the t-11 vertebrae and to date she is unable to sit, therefore drive, work, or finish her college program. Honda has diagnosed the clutch as destroyed and says that she must have intentionally downshifted from 5th to 1st gear while traveling at 45 mph and destroyed the clutch herself. Therefore they are taking no responsibility for the vehicle. My husband and I are currently trying to decide whether to have the clutch replaced or just have the transmission put back in and either way tow to car to my daughter's condo and wait out our next move. Honda is charging us $500. 00 just to put the car back together and the tow will be over $200. 00 but if we leave it at the dealer it is $50. 00 per day. Our service engineer has the destroyed clutch stored in evidence. These 2 young people will never drive the car again even if the car is repaired. She didn't shift at all at the time of the incident and could have easily been impacted and injured even more. So we have a new car no one will drive and so far 2 attorney's have refused to take the case.
When the car is cold it is hard to put into 1st gear and when releasing the clutch it jumps until it has warmed up.

Car has been nothing but problems since purchased in March 2001. Brakes have been replaced 2 times for vibration problems again 4000 miles later brakes are bad. Tires worn to unsafe tread depth w/ 2500 miles. Front struts both blown, told by dealer that they were on national back-order??? as to when they will be available. Driver seat rocks, dealer fixed once saying a shim was broke, again 8000 miles later driver seat rocks again. Paint on car has many small rust spots. Clutch must have flat spots on it, as when I release clutch to start moving there is a jumping sensation able to be felt by driver. Again car has been nothing but problems.
