36 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2015 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 12/02/2018

As I started to drive I noticed that was running really slow and making a loud noise. After 2 miles I turned around and went back to my workplace. As soon it reached uphill the car was driving backward. This is 3 yr old car,the auto repair guy said its the transmission. I find it odd for a 3 yr old car with 75,500 miles only. Also first week when I had it the tire pressure kept coming on. I thought it might be a sensor problem or maybe software but the car company dealer where I bought it kept telling me it's something to do with the weather. The light is on for 3 yrs now so how do I really know if my tires are ok or not. . My car went to hydroplane one when rainstorm and come to find out my tires were bad and bec the tire pressue light was on all the time it didn't really gave me a real warning regarding my tires. The car dealership company just ignored me. Do they have to wait until I really have a bad wreck?? pls. Help me,I really want Honda care to know before its too late. Thank you.

39 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 09/26/2018

My 2017 Honda Civic hatchback, with 13,015 miles on it, was in my carport and had only been sitting 2 days without being driven when I turned the car on and the car began throwing warnings of all electrical systems having problems. For example the tpms, electric parking break, brake system, electric power steering, hill start assist and more. And I had no power steering. I had my car towed to surprise Honda (big mistake) and they saw that my harness (part number 53682-tsa-a01) was chewed by rodents which caused the problem. Honda says and knows this wiring is made from soy based material which attracts rodents. Honda even has a special spicy tape, which they charge for as well, that they can use to wrap the wiring to deter the rodents (which the service mgr said really doesn't work. ) Honda says it is not covered under their warranty. They replaced the wiring and it cost me 370. 00 dollars. The part itself was only 20. 00 dollars. It is 108 degrees outside the rodents are not going into my engine to keep warm!! the soy base wiring is attracting them to do the damage. Honda and their dealership were of no help whatsoever except to make money off a poor choice in their soy base wiring.

40 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 09/01/2018

I have noticed that my Honda Civic sometimes feels as if you were driving standard. You press on the gas peddal and it hesistates to go and then goes immediately which makes it feel as if you are shifting gears. (used to drive standard). It does this all the time. I noticed that it does it more often when the econ button is on and less when the econ button is off but it does do it all the time. It does this while driving on regular streets and on highways. The car shakes a lot when the ac is on. You turn the ac off and it stops shaking. The cars engine is full of rust thanks to Honda for using cheap parts to make this car. I have searched this and there are several Hondas with the same issue of several engine parts being rusted.

41 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 08/10/2018

Also wasn't able to select the steering, the speed control brakes and the wheels/tires. The car has completely shut off while driving going 60 on the highway. Since I've got this car it's been a huge pain and has been in the shop nearly the entire time I've had it. I'm currently making monthly payments on it and have had the car since 2017 and have put over $9,000 worth of work into it. . It finally has stopped working again I've been without a car for over a year because I can't continue to dump money into it. The abs light and check engine have been on since I've got it and the tire pressure light has always been on since I've got it the airbag light blinks while driving randomly and the electrical has went out while driving as well all the lights and radio would completely go out while driving during the day this happened thank god because had it happened at night I wouldn't of been able to see the road. The car has had the battery replaced many times and the tires constantly loose threading and feels like the car steering is shaking while driving. The child safety restraint lights blink as well randomly as well with the airbag lights. My sterling wheel has completely locked up while driving unable to move it at all. This car has cost me loads of money and put me in such a bad place financially I wish I never got it.

42 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Honda Civic

Every now and then there will be brake proble while im driving car will stop in the for no reason. Lastweek as I was reversing the car had an error stating electric parking brake problem and it wouldnt move. 44 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/30/2018

My Honda Civic 2017 car was in my driveway not moving when I turned the car on and all my warning lights came on and I had no power steering. I had my car towed to Honda and they saw that my sub wiring harness was chewed which caused the problem. Honda says this wiring is made from soy based material which attracts rodents. They replaced the wiring and it cost me 268. 00 dollars. The part itself was only 28. 00 dollars. This then happened to me again exactly 2 weeks later with the same problem. I had to have the car towed again. This time I found out there is a fix for this. A spicy tape that Honda makes that can be wrapped around the wiring to resist rodents I don't know how effective this is. They said they don't have the tape. . I am currently waiting to see what they are going to do since they know about this problem and my car is in the shop again going on the 2nd day. Ther is a class action suite that was filed for this very same reason. This dates all the way back to 2010 I was told.

45 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/24/2018

Randomly I receive the following error message on my screen when starting my car, "brake system problem". The only way for me to remove the error is to start with my car in park, and move from r, n, d, s, l, and back up to park again. Then I press the break hold on, then break hold off, parking break on, then parking break off, turn off the car, then turn the car back on and the error goes away. This has happened a number of times since I leased the car in 2016 and happened three times just in this month. Always happens randomly. After taking the car to the dealership a number of times and letting them know of the issue they now run a full diagnostics that my warranty is out and think it has to do with a bad cell in the battery. So either there is a fault with the electrical break system or the batteries in the 2016 Honda Civics are bad. A quick google search will show that I am not the only person with this issue.

49 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/19/2018

A rodent crawled up into the engine compartment and chewed up the wires to coil connector. It made all of the dashboard warning lights to come on and the engine was shaking due to the mis-firing coil. It is Honda fault because they covered/made the wires with soy, which attracts rodents. My 2016 Civic is less than 2 years old with 9,500 miles, Honda claims it is not covered under the warranty. Honda then, wanted to sell me a $500 engine wiring harness, this is ridicules, because it doesn't resolve the problem, the rodents will be attracted to the new wire harness too. They also wanted to sell me spicy rodent tape for $48, this is a scam, Honda needs to fix this problem, they will be losing loyal customers. If this happened on the freeway, it could have resulted in a fatal accident.

50 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/11/2018

Hit a rut, hole, shallow. Lights for airbag(near steering front) went off. Airbag did not engage. I was doing a u-turn, turning right off highway and then left for u-turn in front of a gas station. Why the station had left a hazard for customers to run in to as I did, a turn, I don't understand. Loud noise from right front, and before completed my turn. Sound came as I was turning.

62 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 03/06/2017

I pressed my automatic start key from the window of the building , while I was getting ready ,(washing my face, brushing teeth) after a couple seconds later I heard the sound of the alarm , which would usually turn on if there is a hit or impact or loud sound . When I came downstairs, about 5-10 minutes later . I noticed the front window was shattered , I figured maybe one the neighbors was playing ball and hit my window, when I opened my door I realized there was a fire inside coming directly from the dashboard, everything was melted and my dashboard was also sunk in. I checked if there was an outlet connected or usb ports and did not find an answer. I contacted the dealership and they said they were unable to help and only advice that was given was to contact my insurance , they also added they would not be taking care of any damages in the vehicle and that they were not responsible for this and also did not know why, nor were even interested in investigating. The car was in complete park mode, and off overnight. No one deserves to take their siblings to school and instead be welcomed by a malfunctioning defective 2016 year vehicle.

63 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Feels like the wheels are going to fall off I have taken it to several other mechanics and they say its throwing codes for electronic stability control electric power steering and the electric parking break but 3 dealerships say the vehicle is fine.

64 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2014 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/27/2017

I have a leased 2014 Honda Civic ex, my lease began 11/2014. In 9/2016 I was driving about 45mph on a side road with speed limit 45mph when my car lost power to the gas pedal, I could floor it without any response, and numerous warning lights came on (power steering, vsa, hill start assist, tpms, emission, transmission, etc). I was able to coast to safety and wait for a tow. Upon arrival at Honda, the car was 'back to normal' and the techs couldn't find a problem so they called it a fluke and returned it to me. 2 weeks later I was just leaving my house, about 5 mph out of my spot and up to a stop sign, and the same thing happened again. Had the car towed to the same Honda and waited. I was told a week later they couldn't find a problem and I would have to pay for them to keep looking. Not happening as it was under warranty and a manufacturing problem. I immediately opened a claim with Honda. They looked for a week more with no luck and were about to return my dangerous and undiagnosed car to me when it happened for them; I am unaware of the circumstances. They kept it another two weeks when they guessed it was a faulty computer and put a new one in it. Fast forward to 2/2017 and it has happened yet again. I was going about 7 mph in a parking lot, pulling up to a stop sign, and about to turn onto a 50 mph, 5 lane road where I for sure would have been in an accident had it occurred there. It has been towed to Honda and I have zero intentions to take this death trap back, and I have even less faith that an actual problem will be found yet again. The attached photo shows the lights on this most recent time, taken while in park. You can see the lights on, d lit up while in park, and the needle at 1 even though I was not moving.

67 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 01/01/2017

Takata recall a accident but airbag didn't use, and then I repaired the car, replaced the door. Yesterday I went to dealer to sell my car, they told me this problem, but it is not mine, the vehicle should be recalled, and my electronic control system, vehicular audio system cable doesn't work too. My friend was injured and went to emergency room, it costed thousand of dollars.

68 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 12/23/2016

I was driving the freeway at 70mph when suddenly all the indicators went berserk with 6 different problems appearing all at the same time. I went from 70 to 40mph without doing anything. I went to the shoulder to stop and these problems appeared: power steering system (eps), vehicle stability assist (vsa), hill start assist, emissions system, brake system and brake hold system. It scared the hell out of me coz the cars behind me started honking at because of the sudden reduced speed. It couldve cost me my life! it was only at 1195miles when that happened and did nothing that may have caused the defects. I am on a three year lease and it has only been less than 2months since I had the car. I dont want that car anymore so if you cant give me another one (without additional costs), then I would want a full refund and cancel my lease.

69 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 10/19/2016

Upon startup vsa, tpms, cmbs, brake warning illuminated at 4400 miles. Power steering failed. Delivered to dealer for repair.

70 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 09/19/2016

Purchased a new 2016 Civic touring in may 2016. Within a couple of weeks I was having small electrical issues such as screens going black, rebooting, and stereo not working. I would get a failure warning on the dash once in awhile (different each time). Car failed to start on July 26th 2016. All screens were flashing error messages. Car would not start. I called the dealer and had the car towed. Dealer claimed they have never seem this problem. They kept the car for a couple of days and stated there was nothing wrong, and they couldn't replicate the problem. I would continue to have the same small problems with the car every so often. Until, the car slammed on the brakes coming to a complete stop by itself and computer took 100% control of the car. I couldn't steer, accelerate, or control the car at all. I nearly got rear ended in an intersection. There was not a car directly in front of me that would have caused the collision avoidance to brake in order to avoid an accident. After the car came to a complete stop I regained control again and the car operated normal. Soon after, while attempting to start the car I received the all the error codes again and it the car wouldn't start. I again called the dealer and had it towed. Dealer cannot tell me why the car self braked and cannot replicate it. I have an open case# with Honda of America. I have told both the dealership and Honda of America the car is unsafe to drive. My wife and daughter are both scared for their safety to drive it. No one from my family including myself will be driving the car ever again, nor can I sell it to someone else. They need to purchase the car back from me and find out what is causing this to ensure no one gets seriously injured from this happening again.
