3 Visibility problem of the 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 12/15/2010

I've noticed several complaints about broken sun visors. My 08 Civic Hybrid got a crack in the driver side visor. Prior to that, it was always very hard to swing the visor to the side or to clip it back in. Maybe something was too tight, and that's why it eventually cracked. My dealership replaced it because the car was still under warranty. However, if it had happened a couple months later they wouldn't have. Sounds like there's a defect in the visors and Honda needs to replace them even if the car is out of warranty.

4 Visibility problem of the 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 07/08/2010

2006 Honda Civic Hybrid - on driver and passenger sun visor has been coming fall apart. It couldn't put up. I was told the part itself cost me about $70. It is very annoying when I am driving with visor down all the time until it replace.

5 Visibility problem of the 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 01/01/2010

Honda civic 2006 sunvisor: it has split apart and will not fold up and out of the way, partially blocks my rear-view mirror in the "down" position. I have to push the pieces together to make it stay together. Once you put it back down it splits again. Bad design making an item so cheaply that must endure repeated use in a spot that probably has too much pressure in between the two joined pieces.

6 Visibility problem of the 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 08/24/2009

My 2006 Civic Hybrid sedan has had 4 sets of sun visors put in it while under warranty. The sun visors break internally and will not go all the way up or down. When this happens the visors hang down about three inches from the front roof line right in the drivers field of view. When trying to place the visor all the way forward it does the same thing and hangs about three inches down in the drivers field of view. My sun visor failures all happened during the summer and the manufacturer has not offered a fix for this part.

7 Visibility problem of the 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 08/01/2009

When my car sits in the sun for any amount of time, my sun visors will not stay up, flat against the ceiling of the car. The droop down, sometimes into my vision. I have called Honda about a replacement, but because the car is no longer under warranty they want to charge me approx $150 to replace both sun visors. The visors are being used normally, under normal circumstances this should not happen.

8 Visibility problem of the 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 02/03/2009

This vehicle is not safe for highway or city driving. It decelerates when you need power, making it very dangerous to merge in high speed or heavy traffic conditions. In the summer when the a/c is running, acceleration is extremely unreliable. The driver's side has severe blind spots. I have also experienced long delays in the engine restarting after pulling out into traffic from a dead stop at lights or stop signs. I have nearly been hit by oncoming traffic -- planning for adequate gaps in traffic is a challenge and very different from the other vehicles I drive. I am an experienced driver with over 37 years behind the wheel and an excellent driving record. I have owned 4 Hondas and this so-called hybrid has been an engineering disaster.

9 Visibility problem of the 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 01/01/2009

My sun visor cracked at the hinge over a year ago and since that time it would repeatedly fall in my face blocking my line of sight. Many times it even hit me in the head. Honda wouldn't pay to replace or fix it. I finally removed it since it obstructed my view of the road so now I have the sun in my eyes. I am not apt to buy the same part again as I've seen hundreds of postings online about Honda civic owners who have experienced the same problem. There needs to be a recall of this visor and Honda needs to replace these parts in all civics with functionable parts.
