1 Wiper problem of the 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

Wipers on 08 Honda Civic Hybrid go on every time the car ignition is started. After 7-8 swishes, wipers stop in the middle of the windshield. Honda service bulletin 07-071 reported this issue on 9/24/10 and recommends replacing windshield wiper motor cover plate. Other internet searches recommend replacing the entire motor assembly 76505-sna-a02. Dealer repair quote was over $500: $117 for the motor assembly plus labor. Only 06-07 models are covered in the service bulletin 07-071, but there are 240 reports of this problem at https://repairpal. Com/wipers-wont-park-due-to-windshield-wiper-motor-failure-531?trk_loc=rr# . The same part was recalled in 2003. Honda consumer affairs declined to take action since car was out of warranty, which incidentally only covers the first 3 years of the car. The windshield wiper malfunctions are well documented. Why hasn't Honda extended the dates in the service bulletin since the problems have clearly persisted well beyond 2007 models?.

2 Wiper problem of the 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 09/15/2017

Driver side sun visor is defective. A component inside the visor is broken. The visor will not stay locked in place and drops down which blocks the driver's view of the road. It is especially dangerous when driving at night and in poorly visibility conditions. This is an in motion safety hazard.

3 Wiper problem of the 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 07/29/2016

The instrumental panel indicator, the parking brake, the climate control system, and the audio system are malfunctioning. On a road trip in July, the air conditioner (ac) stopped blowing out cold air while we were driving on the highway. However, if we put it on auto or fan, we would get cold air as though the ac is working. A few weeks later, the radio turned on by itself while I was driving on a city street even though I did not turn it on or did I hit a bump, which could reasonably explain it coming on. The radio was a one time event. And lastly, the brake light has been randomly and continuously came on and off on the instrumental panel while I'm driving as though I had left the parking brake on. This used to happen more when I'm making a turn or accelerating on city streets, but lately, the light has been coming on/off no matter if I'm turning or going straight or on a highway or city street. I plan on bringing the car into the dealership in a few weeks to have it checked out. P. S. The windshield wipers on this car do not adequately work fast enough in heavy rain as my other vehicles, making visibility a real issue. It has always been like that so I'm guessing it's the car design and not a defect, but fyi while I'm reporting issues.

4 Wiper problem of the 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 01/01/2015

Windshield wipers suddenly stop working properly - they fail to stop wiping when the switch is turned off, the intermittent settings fail to work at all, and when the wipers do stop it is often in the middle of a swipe, obscuring the driver's vision. An internet search of the problem revealed that thousands of Honda owners experience the same problem and that Honda has issued technical bulletins describing the exact problem. This is a serious safety issue because the problem is intermittent and occurs when one is using the wipers. It is also a safety issue in that the failure of the wipers to park properly blocks the driver's line of sight.

5 Wiper problem of the 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

The windshield wipers got crossed up while in use which ended up breaking one of the blades. I turned the wipers off > uncrossed the blades > turned the wipers back on > and the wipers would only cycle about half way up the window before returning to the rest position. A week later I turned the wipers on to drive in the rain and the drivers side wiper will not move while the passenger side does. The passenger blade is below the drivers side blade, so the passenger blade hits the non-moving drivers side blade which actually knocked the passenger side blade off the arm.

6 Wiper problem of the 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 06/16/2012

1) visors cracked - driver's side does not stay up. 2) hybrid battery light showed it failed - dealership reprogrammed the car fall 2011 and since then the car does not accelerate as well. I have noticed lessened ability to accelerate when merging. 3) two of the doors fail to lock when the car reaches locking speed. One of these is a back seat passenger door where a child sits.

7 Wiper problem of the 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 12/02/2009

Intermittent wipers run on longer than normal and stop in mid-windshield and not at the bottom of the windshield. Experienced this same problem last winter/spring and seems to work fine during warm months.
