general problems of the 1997 Honda CR-V

Six problems related to electrical system have been reported for the 1997 Honda CR-V. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2021

While driving, the vehicle electrical system and engine shuts down including the dash lights, creating a dangerous driving situation.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2020

Tl the contact owns a 1997 Honda Cr-v. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 20v026000 (air bags) and 02v120000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The local dealer autonation Honda hollywood (2400 n state rd 7, hollywood, FL 33021) was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2018

Engine died suddenly at highway speed. After pullover off of roadway, the vechicle was successfully restarted and travel resumed.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2018

Ignition problems.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/19/2017

Car starts and runs and shuts down at highway speeds and starts right back up no codes has always restarted.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2011

The car stalled at 35 mph and then restarted. It does this every once in a while at different speeds, I have read many complaints on the internet about the same problem, I feel this is very dangerous and needs addressed.
