The contact owns a 2003 Honda Cr-v equipped with toyo extensa tires, size: 215/65r15. While driving approximately 65 mph, the rear driver side tire experienced tread separation. The contact also indicated that the front passenger side tire experienced a sidewall crack and split that caused the tire to go flat. The cause of the failures was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage, dot number, and VIN were not provided.
Complete tire failure. While travelling at highway speed noticed tire vibration. Within 10 seconds of hearing the noise the tire completely failed-- the tire was in 3 peices: the two sidewalls were hanging on the rim and the entire tread area was separated from them (the tread area remained in one solid piece). The tires were original equipment on the car, which is only7 months old. The mileage on them was 10000.
