Wiring harness electrical.

3 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2022

Every few months one of my low beam headlamps goes out, and I replace it to stay in compliance with local traffic laws. Within the last week, both low beam headlights went out, and both sockets show burn damage that is similar to the issue reported in NHTSA recall: 04v086000. I am concerned that even if I replace both the lights and the sockets, there may be something else going on that could cause a fire. I'd like NHTSA to look into this please. Thank you.

4 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2021

Low-beam headlight bulb repeatedly fails in 2006 Honda Cr-v, more often on the driver’s side, requiring replacement two to three times per year. This has occurred since the car was purchased in 2011 over ten years ago. Recall is needed for this common problem.

5 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2020

When driving the brakes will seize up especially in the winter followed by a grinding sound. It did it twice yesterday(12/19/2020)while driving in the snow and the car will often slide making it difficult to stop. I have complained about this several times before on several occasions and once was told my brake like is probably frozen. The car dealership even took the converter heat shield off as it was dented and they thought that might be the issue. It is a scary situation when your brakes don't work good and you can't stop. I have changed my brakes on several different occasions but it still does it. Lights have been flickering and the car has even shutoff in the middle of parking.

6 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2019

This car failed the va state inspection due to recalls. Car is now undriveable can not accelerate.

7 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2019

Passenger side low beam does not function. . . Have replaced bulb every few months for the past several years, but this time (since Feb. 2019) there is no recovery. I have replaced the bulb, socket and connector, checked fuses. . . Hi beam and parking/signal bulbs all fully functional, but no low beam on passenger side. This is a dangerous and well known defect that a recall was issued for in the 2005 models. Honda, in certain model years, of which 2006 is one, has so far refused to offer remedy . There are more than enough instances of this unique hazard to justify a recall, and one is long overdue.

8 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 11/08/2017

The drivers side low beam bulb fails after less than 2 months of replacement recurring issue. I have installed 2 different manufactures bulbs plus one oem bulb with same failure occurring in 3 months or less and less than 2k miles. Bulb has failed both in motion and stationary mode.

9 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2017

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. The VIN was not available.

10 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 04/21/2014

Driving vehicle when both low beam lights went out. Bulbs have been replaced multiple times and bulbs were replaced again. Now, it appears that drivers side light bulbs are much dimmer (almost not visible) in comparison to the passengers side bulbs. Operation of the bulb also appears to be sporadic. Vehicle is not drive-able at night due to concerns with exterior lighting.

11 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2013

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Honda crv. The contact stated that while driving at any speed, the head lights failed. The contact had the head lamp bulb replaced. 12 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2013

I have replaced the low beam bulbs 4 times the past 2 years on the passenger side and 2 times on the drivers side. This time the drivers side went out and after trying 2 new bulbs they still will not illuminate. I also have an issue with the dash light not coming on. The vehicle is scheduled for a check in 4 days. Over the life of this car the bulbs seem to last a very short time.

13 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2012

2006 Honda crv, great car , passenger side low beam burns out every frequently (5 - 7 weeks) I see many similar complaints on the internet. (wiring harness is mentioned) I believe 2002 crv's are currently under recall for this same issue.

14 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2011

While driving, both low-beam lights failed in the same moment. Hi-beams remained functioning. Eariler in the week the low-beams had flicked off briefly. Bulbs had been replaced within previous 6-months. Similar to Honda fit recall and previous crv investigation low-beam investigation from what I have read online.

15 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2011

Bought certified used 2006 Honda crv in 2009. About 6 months after one of the hedlamps burnt out, replaced it then about 4 months later it went out again. It stated averageing going out every 4-5 months, we just keep replaceding the bulbs.

16 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 06/11/2011

The low beams on my Honda have been replaced about 11 times since last summer. It starter with the passenger side- so now, it goes passenger, driver, passenger, etc. I changed the white things that hold the bulbs and replaced both bulbs (again!) now neither low beams work! I have to drive with my bright lights on and I live in a city- this does not make other drivers very happy.

17 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2010

Driver side headlamp suddenly went out. New bulbs only last about a year, as I have replaced this bulb 4 times now.

18 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2009

I own a 2006 Honda Cr-v (bought in 2009). I am constantly having to change the headlamp bulbs as they simultaneously burn out. Now I am plagued with my console lights burning out. . . I have read that there are many issues with owners of Honda Cr-v involving the wiring harness. I have an appt. This afternoon to have yet another service call made on my Honda. . . Honda had a recall previously for the same issues back in 2002-2004 Cr-v and obviously the situation has carried over into the 2005-2006 models. . . Honda needs to do a recall on the 2005, 2006 and any other year models that are having the same issue(s). How do we as consumers go about filing complaints so that Honda is prompted to do a recall? I have always driven Honda vehicles for the most part but am seriously considering a different car in the near future. Kia. . . Toyota. . . . . Ford escape. . . . . I am tired of taking my Cr-v in for headlamp and wiring issues the past 4 years now.

19 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2008

Beginning in 2008 I began noticing that I was changing my headlamp bulbs on a fairly frequent basis. As much as 3 or 4 times a year. Mostly on the drivers side. Recently the low beam went out again, April 2013, and when I replaced the bulb the low and high beams both shined very dimly and when I switched on the high beams both lamps went out. I am at a loss but suspect that there is a switch problem. Honda also recently recalled my vehicle for a faulty master window switch.

20 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2008

Complaint mimics the complaints here in the NHTSA, complaint #'s 10573302, 10576909 and 10619157 for low beam lamps burning out prematurely since I first purchased it as a used vehicle back in 2008 from larry miller Honda in hillsboro oregon much like what happened to the civic models for starters. What I don't understand is why Honda America is not responding, what is the nhsta doing to apply pressure to issue a service bulletin?.
