1 Vsa Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2019

The vsa and check engine light will frequently come on and then if I take the vehicle over 2500 rpms I will lose power and the engine will stutter. This happens in anytime the vehicle is in motion, whether it's city streets or highway.

2 Vsa Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2017

Vsa and exclamation sign lights lit on dashboard while driving in dry conditions. Brought to dealer and informed the vsa modulator had failed and would need to be replaced. . . At a cost of $2682. My search indicates that this part fails quite a bit on Hondas and needs to be made recalled since its a safety related item.

3 Vsa Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2016

I have a 2006 Honda crv with less than 40000 miles. Upon starting the car the vsa and abs indicator lights came on and would not go off until the engine was turned off. There were no accidents or any noticeable problems with the vehicle while driving on city street under good conditions as we took car to the Honda dealer, and was told the vsa module needed to be replaced at the cost of $2,600. Plus pus a charge of $110. For diagnostic test which had to be done. I feel this should be a safety issue, and should warrant a recall. Thanks Honda for all your support. Buy american.

4 Vsa Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2016

The vsa and abs lights on my 2006 Cr-v came on upon starting and stayed on until the engine was stopped. This happened every time the car was started. My Honda dealership diagnosed the problem to be a faulty abs modulator unit. The stated replacement cost is $2,400, including labor. I feel that this defect is essential in ensuring the overall safety of this car. The weight of the car is significant enough that an uncontrolled skid is much more likely to end in disaster than a skid that is stopped with the vsa and abs function working properly. Living in central ohio, the abs and vsa functions are used frequently - especially in the winter. These key safety features were a top priority in my decision to buy this car. While the car's life expectancy is touted to be around 300,000 miles, it is unforgivable for such a significant safety function to fail at only 102,000 miles. I feel that Honda should recall these cars and replace the vsa modulator unit entirely at Honda's expense. And for those of us who have already paid for the repair - reimburse the full amount of the repair! the car without vsa and abs is not at all the same "as advertised" when sold new!.

5 Vsa Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2015

Abs and vsa lights came on. Took the vehicle to dealer and was told the abs modulator needed replacing. My cost would be $2450. 00. Since this component controls brakes and stability it seems to me to be a safety issue and therefore subject to a recall.

6 Vsa Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2013

The vsa and exclamation light came on one day right when I started the car and has never turned off. My mileage was approximately 44,000 miles. Took it to the Honda dealer and confirmed the abs module needs to be replaced. Part+labor = $2400+ (excluding tax). Called u. S. Honda manufacturer and they will pay 25% for the part. That still is expensive. I'm reading off on the web that countries in the uk and canada, that Honda has paid the part in full. Here in the u. S. They don't recognize this as a defect. This part is a huge safety issue. A local mechanic says I should not drive this where it snows. If there's sand, the car will be stuck. Another mechanic said there could be a short. Honda manufacturer never advised me of this or if it's safe to drive or should be replaced right away. Coming from family who buys mostly Honda's, I will not buy another Honda again. I was looking at a odyssey, but saw it had a huge vsa issue as well. Sometimes I wonder if it was an electrical issue because a few times the cruise control light turns on once the car is turned on. Have never used cruise control. Never driven in bad weather and avoid heavy rain. Driven only few times per week and carefully in mostly local short distances.

7 Vsa Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/17/2013

The anti-lock brake system (abs) vehicle stability assist (vsa) warning lights suddenly came on. I immediately took the vehicle to the Honda dealer (grappone Honda, bow, nh) who inspected the vehicle and they indicated that the abs modulator control unit had a defective internal valve and failed. The dealer indicated that the car abs system was no longer operational, and this also disabled the vsa (vehicle stability) system, thus making the Honda Cr-v more susceptible to roll-overs. The dealer indicated that new hampshire department of safety is currently contemplating requiring abs system operation to pass annual safety inspections, but that the Honda Cr-v could currently be driven without an operational abs braking system. The Honda dealer indicated it would cost $2,050. 00 to repair the abs modulator control unit and that it would take days to order the part and further additional days to schedule repair once the part was at the dealer. I reviewed safercar. Gov information and discovered that this Honda abs/vsa system problem has occurred on other Honda Cr-vs. An assessment of available internet information indicated approximately 55 cases of Honda abs modulator control unit failures. Since abs (and vsa) is so central to safe car operation, I ask that the national highway traffic safety administration act to address this recurrent Honda Cr-v braking system abs modulator internal defect. This is particularly important in light of the abs/vsa system's impact on Honda Cr-v braking and stability safety. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.
