I came out of work and started my car. It smelled horrible, like an electrical fire. I brought it to my Honda dealership and they said it is the clutch mechanism. The a/c compressor failed and it is going to cost $1600 to fix. This was legitimately out of nowhere with no issue up until this point in time and it took me completely by surprise. Upon looking online, there are several reports of similar situations. A recall really should be done. This is an extremely expensive repair for owners to be burdened with.
Both rear power door locks began malfunctioning as of 11/01/2015 they click open at about 10 miles per hour. Every time I slow down and then speed up they click open. It is constant while driving. Children in the back are not safe.
All my door locks don't lock the locks actuates as normal but they unlock and cannot be locked by key the actuators activate when driving stopping etc. I've researched this on line and several people have the same problems the dealers say it will cost $314-$500 plus labor to replace what ever needs no recall this is a safety for security I have90206 miles on my vehicle at present.
The rear driver's door will unlock when the car is fully braked (at lights, stops, etc) and when the car starts again (approx 5mph) the doors will lock again. At 10-12 mph, they will unlock and remain unlocked for the entirety of the drive (until stopped again). The child protection setting is on. When the car is stopped and the engine is turned off, the doors will not lock with the keyfob. The door remains unlocked while the rest of the car is locked. This is not only a safety issue, but an issue of personal protection and is a non-deterrent towards theft.
The ac clutch does not engage and is apparently a known issue on models between 2002-2008 due to no heat shielding and placement. The result is failure of clutch due to excessive engine heat. Repair costs are more than $2000. Only certain VIN#'s qualify for a recall and this should be one. Customers should not be penalized for poor design.
1) we were never notified about our vehicle recall pertaining to transmission, and recall occurred in 2011. We are experiencing problems with transmission now and feel that the car is unsafe to drive. Please advice us on what happened and why we were not notified. Recall # 11v-395 (NHTSA campaign number) 2) we took the car multiple times for alarm sensitivity repair three times, and Honda dealership in roseville, CA, was unable to fix the problem. Car alarm continues to be is overly sensitive and goes off from air vibration (from other cars passing by, etc. ) is this possibly another manufacturer defect? please advice us on what to do. Respectfully, anya & charles turner.
Passenger front door lock actuator (NHTSA reference: #10057463) - I was never notified by Honda of this class-action settlement - my mechanic informed me on 8-30-16 of this settlement during a routine oil change - after contacting Honda America at 800-999-1009 -ext 7, I was informed the settlement for the passenger front door actuator was amended and terminated as of November 2015 - my passenger front door actuator has been non-working since the 1st quarter of 2015 - Honda has politely refused any corrective action - twice I have been informed that a manager will call to review my request; no calls have been received - I have received recall notices from Honda (I. E. March 2016 regarding the airbags) so I am definitely in their computer system - had I been made aware of the passenger front door actuator settlement I would have immediately contacted the local Honda dealer for a prompt and full repair free of charge questions: a) does Honda America bear any burden of having to document they did send written notification of this settlement in a timely manner? b) why was a termination date agreed to of Nov. 2015? if a part is defective, as it clearly is in my situation, it will remain defective even after Nov. 2015? c) what recourse do I have that the NHTSA can assist me with? thank you.
Back door will not lock. It seems thats the latch is not holding even when lock. With little force I can open the door when it suppose to be lock. Door will also become unlock by the bump force of speed bumbs. The car has low miliegae and never been in a crash. I feel that the locking components should last much longer than 83k miles. It seems that other consumers have the same problem but Honda is doing nothing about it. Someone get this going and put a recall in order.
I made the decision to buy this car for safety reasons. Now I can lose my key at anytime or leave me stranded bc the fob encasing is weak and they know this because the service manager at the dealership in my town felt bad and took pity on me and "replaced" the casing for me twice now and 'only' charged me $40 each time. The door intermittently locks me out or comes on and off. I went to have it repaired and I can't afford the $300 just to see if it'll work. Now - I live in a high humidity area and no recall for our airbagsl. I have a child that rides with me regularly and it's like playing roulette. Thanks Honda. My pilot I had to get rid of for stopping for no reason while driving - well I thought it was a fluke. Honda is no longer the company it used to be. How about owning up to what your weaknesses and just taking care of them because people are buying your products? should be criminal to do these things to people. Well maybe we will either die because we're stranded on side of the road in the middle of nowhere because somebody kills us. Or maybe we'll just get locked in our vehicle and die in a fiery crash bc we can't get out. Or maybe we get lucky because the airbags explode and shoot metal at us and it goes quick. This is disgusting. I will never buy another Honda.
The driver-side power window switch does not function for the passenger front window. The passenger window does not roll down or up smooth, if at all.
The rear right side door works the opposite of the other doors, with switching the gear from drive to park, with the remote, or using the driver’s side button. All three doors will unlock but the rear right side door unlocks and then locks back up again. And when I lock all the doors the rear right side door unlocks, which makes it unsafe while driving and kids in the back seat or when the car is parked overnight (vehicle mileage 74,600). Please help.
The door locks cycle from unlocked to lock and then the right rear door does not lock at all anymore. Cannot secure the vehicle due to power locking system malfunctions while driving and when stationary does not stay locked.
Passenger side door lock will not stay locked! and the other three doors lock seconds after unlocking them with remote?.
Since 2014 Sep. The power steering very noising from engine room when make a turn. Don't know when the steering wheel will broken ,and unsafe. Rear passenger power widower window not working and driver side read doorlock not working.
Rear door locking mechanism failure due to defect the door will not remain locked, this is a child softy issue as the child lock has failed as well. The door can not be locked, this seems to be a common issue on this model.
The doorlocks are having a number of problems. The doors began unlocking themselves shortly after locking them. The front passenger door won't stay locked, the right rear door is frozen in the locked position and the door is unusable, the driver rear door stays in the unlocked position, and the rear hatch won't unlock; therefore, it won't open. At this point, two of my doors won't open and the locks continuously try locking over and over as I drive under approximately 10mph. As I search the internet I see multiple people with the same problems, but my fear is my family getting trapped in this car if the locks seize and won't allow passengers to egress the vehicle. I hope it doesn't take an unfortunate event for someone to step up and take notice that there is a problem.
The automatic door locks - right passengers side lock unlocks. Will not re-lock.
As reported by a number of other Honda crv owners, my front passenger door lock unlocks itself. I first noticed it after something was stolen from my car. I could not understand how that was possible because I needed to unlock my driver's side door to get into the car. I never checked the passenger door lock. I then noticed that the car doors continued to lock as I was driving. I looked over and noticed that the passenger door lock would unlock as soon as it locked. So now the lock mechanism keeps trying to lock the door after every stop. This is clearly a safety issue and a recall needs to be made for a faulty part. The safety issue is threefold: 1) preventing items or the car from being stolen because the car cannot be locked; 2) driving in a large city and not being able to lock the passenger side door. I am fearful that someone could enter the car while I am stopped in unsafe locations; 3) I park in a garage and sometimes leave late in the evening. I need to make sure there is no one in my car now before I enter it. Gm waited too long to recall their cars. I am asking Honda to be more proactive since this is a know issue. I believe there is a class action suit currently pending for this issue, so there are obviously a large number of Honda owners who have experienced this issue but may have not reported it here.
When I unlocked all the doors - the front passenger door lock opened but then retracted and the door would not open - I clicked the open switch several times and was finally able to open the door - but then the switch seemed to jam again - further research indicated that the actuator is the cause. This appears to be a potentially serious issue - if the door will not open in the event of an emergency - at the very least it is frustrating to have to remember to try to open the door as soon as it is activated otherwise it will retract and not open. I have in the interim tried applying some white lithium grease to the inside and it appears to help temporarily - but the actuator will eventually have to be replaced. I was trying to inquire if this shouldn't be a recall or reimbursement for repair from Honda. . . . .
The automatic locks and door lock actuators seem to be malfunctioning. The locks will randomly unlock and lock miles into a drive. When the door is locked with the side door button on either the drivers side or passengers side the actuator makes a horrible noise. When the key is used to unlock the vehicle the actuator makes a horrible noise as well.
Drivers and passenger side doors will automatically relock everytime you unlock the doors. It started with the drivers side door, then a few weeks later, the passenger door. To unlock doors you have to physically hit unlock button, then you have half a second to get door open before it locks again on its own. The whole car be unlocked but you can't get into the front doors. I feel this is a safety issue, because if I were in an accident or had some kind of emergency, the front doors wouldn't unlock or open long enough to get out. My kids have a problem getting out, so I won't let them sit in front seat anymore. Hoping that the back doors don't start acting up. Doing research on this, I see that Honda has had class action law suits filed about this same problem, and many complaints about the same issue. On one site it says they had a recall on this in late 2012, but I haven't seen any thing else about a recall.
Rear driver door comes unlocked when driving or when parked. Will not stay locked.
The passenger side door locks won't stay locked. They keep unlocking themselves.
Left rear door lock was repeatedly engaging/disengaging for several months prior, then unable to lock door at all. Repair garage replaced lock actuator and cable for charge of $253. 57. Currently the right front door lock intermittently fails to remain in locked position both while parked and in motion. Current mileage is 90552.
Driver side locks and unlocks on its own. When trying to use remote keypad, the door sometimes does not open. I cant use the key to pen driver side lock. I recently noticed that many other consumers are having the same problem.
Passenger side door lock will lock itself after door is unlocked using remote. Missed an entire day of work because I locked myself out of the car yesterday. I'm in the medical field so it was a burden on many sick individuals who needed my help.
Right rear door, actuator switch making a horrible noise. Sometimes the door will not lock at all. I have read of literally hundreds of other Honda crv's that do the same thing and Honda should stand behind this defect instead of ignoring it. They should live up to their reputation!.
Passenger side door: I can unlock the passenger door with the key fob and they will re-lock themselves within 2 seconds. Few days ago I went into pharmacy and left my 8 year old niece in the car to pick up few things. Came back out in about 5-7 minutes and and she was crying her eyes out yelling and screaming. I asked her what happened as I entered through the driver side door. She couldn't speak for few minutes because of tears. She told me she couldn't open the door and she got scared. Entire family is Honda and Acura loyal customers. My family had enough Honda problems with the 2011 Honda accord brakes making squeaking noises after replacing brake pads 2 times. 2003 Acura tl transmission problem. Replacing 2007 crv differential fluids numerous times and now a safety issue with the passenger side locks. I had enough. Good bye Honda!.
Passenger door locks and unable to open in emergency.
Rear hatch will not unlock. Unable to unlock rear passenger door. I've been told it is an defective door lock acutator. A class action suit was filed in April 2013 regarding this issue. I called Honda who said there were no recalls and that I should take it to my local dealer to evaluate the situation. Perhaps Honda should consider recalling the defective acutators. Being unable to unlock car doors on a vehicle is completely unsafe.
Left rear door will not stay locked.
The door locks activate inappropriately when the car is stopped. I unlock the doors to take my children out of the back of the car, and the car locks itself within 2-3 seconds before I can even open the back door. Beyond just being annoying, this is a major safety issue.
The a/c started blowing warm air. I was told the compressor, and probably more specifically the clutch on the compressor, has failed. This seems like way too new of a car with low miles for the a/c to be failing leaving me with a $1800 bill. Also, others seem to be having the same issue and are referencing a service bulletin # 12-072, which is not listed by Honda or the NHTSA- so not sure, but seems like a common issue.
Door actuator unlock after locking it.
Front drivers side and front passenger door locks did not activate per design when reaching speed of 9 mph. Consider this to be a safety problem in that driver or passenger could open doors while traveling at high rates of speed or in case of accident doors could open exposing driver or passenger to harm.
