Passenger side door does not lock. I have a child and it poses a safety risk as the door does not lock. This poses a lot of risk to thief and others as it is not working as designed.
My door locks (all of them) would not stay unlocked longer than 2-3 seconds when I want to leave the vehicle. I have carefully coordinate pressing the unlock button on my key with actually opening the door. If I am not quick enough, I must repeat the action. This very clearly looks like a safety issue. And by now Honda knows this is not an isolated case. Will it require a minimum number of deaths or injuries because the occupant can't get out of the vehicle in time in case of an accident or fire, etc. ?? the cost for the replacement of the actuators should not be borne by the owners. ( up to 4 @ $400 each).
Even when you lock it (or it locks automatically above 10 mph), the front two door locks will automatically open, when driving or even after parking the car. Based upon other posts, this seems to be a chronic problem with the door lock actuator, and should be the subject of a recall. ## VIN failed ##.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that all doors would lock with the exception the front passenger's door. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 40,000.
I'm having issues with the front passenger door lock mechanism. A couple weeks ago, I could not get the door to unlock. I tried the remote, the automatic button on the door, and even manually locking. Nothing worked. Then, yesterday, the opposite began. The front passenger door will not stay locked. Again, trying all means of locking and nothing keeps it locked. It will initially lock, but slowly unlocks. As I'm driving, it will try to lock again at 9 mph, but doesn't hold. So, in stop and go traffic, I get to hear my door locking over and over again. I have seen several posts experiencing the identical issue. My dealer could not find any recall information.
Left rear passenger door locks when other doors are unlocked, and unlocks when other doors are locked. Also rear hatch door now won't unlock.
The right rear door lock reopens by itself after I lock the doors with the fob. The lock will not lock manually. Hence I cannot lock the vehicle. Several other people have complained of similar problems with this make and year vehicle - numerous complaints on the edmunds. Com website. Apparently, a class action lawsuit was filed against Honda in January 2013 regarding this and other door lock problems of this year crv vehicle. From internet research the price is about $300 to fix per door. I am unable to fully lock my car both when I am in it and when I am away from it. Hence we crv owners are now subject to any one getting in or waiting in our vehicles and causing harm to us. Also any one can take anything or put anything into my unlocked car. We are open to some one jumping in our unlocked vehicles when we stop at traffic lights - especially at night. Finally, the car door automatic door locking system seems to try to lock the mentioned malfunctioned rear right door every time I slow below 10 mph and then speed up. I hear the clicking sound when the door is trying to be locked. The attempts are unsuccessful, the door does not lock thanks.
Upon starting the car the front passenger door locks and unlocks randomly.
Automatic door locks will unlock on their own. This occurs when car is parked (so anyone can open the car and steal it or anything in the car) and while driving (which means even if you have locked the doors a passenger can open the door while the car is moving).
Passenger door lock will remain lock after pressing unlock button on key and on door. Lock actuator has a grinding sound when locking.
The left rear door does not lock when using the fob or when in the car. All other doors lock, the back door tries to lock, and then automatically unlocks. When accelerating from a stopped position, the door will try to lock, but then unlocks. After seeing all of the posts related to this problem, I think Honda should step up to resolve this.
Passenger rear door lock not working. Honda dealership said the door lock actuator is broken and needs to be repaired. This seems to be a common occurence. They charged me $280 for repair.
Began having chronic issue with rear passenger door locks. Door cannot be manually locked and if I attempt to lock with key remote it immediately unlocks. I tried to see if keeping the child lock on would at least help keep it locked but it does not work. The car is constantly locking and unlocking every time I am in motion but immediately unlocks. This is very unsafe especially if transporting small children because the car does not stay locked at all. It is also unsafe to keep any belongings in the car overnight since the car cannot be locked under any circumstances.
After unlocking the door the door then locks itself. This happens both when you unlock manually or unlock using the fob. Very dangerous as it locks you in the car and will not unlock.
Driver side lock and trunk lock initially about a month ago would not lock manually or remotely. Then two days ago, the car would not unlock at all. Had to have the car unlocked by a company. Now only the passenger and two rear doors work. I have to crawl in from the passenger side to get in the car.
The locks on my car's doors automatically re-lock within a second of trying to unlock them. When the engine is running, and I am in park, I cannot manually unlock the doors at all. I am very nervous that I may end up getting locked in my car without the ability to exit; this could be especially hazardous in an accident or another emergency.
The front passenger door lock automatically unlocks while the vehicle is moving and can't be relocked. Also, the other door locks click for no reason.
I'm having trouble with my door locks. The front door locks don't work properly and the rear hatch also works when it wants to?. . . . . I've read the owners manual and done what it says to do to no avail. . . . Please tell me if their is a remedy.
Passenger side door automatic lock malfunction. At times would not open/ at times would not lock. When I use the master control (on the drivers side door) or the key fob, the passenger side lock continually clicks. Also the locks continue to click open and locked as I drive (especially when I speed up from a stop. ) I have heard that many other people have the same type of problems.
The drivers side door will lock automatically and will sometimes not unlock.
Last fall, the door lock on the front passenger door on my 2007 Honda crv began to lock back after unlocking it to allow my son into the car. It locks back within 2-3 seconds of unlocking it with the keyless entry. Since this time, the other 3 doors operate in the same manner. The doors lock back within seconds after unlocking. On Monday, July 15, my car did not start. With the keys in the ignition, I got out of the car to go check under the hood. After checking under the hood, I tried to get back in my car but could not. . . The doors were locked. . . All four of them along with the hatchback. I returned inside my home to retrieve my spare car key. The key did not unlock my door. I attempted several times without luck. There is only one key entry point with the model I have and the key did not work. I had to enter the car through the sunroof, which I had left open the previous evening. I then removed the keys from the ignition and attempted to open the door manually with this key. It did not open the door, either. Neither does the valet key. The only way I can open my car is with the keyless entry. I checked with the local Honda dealer and was told it would cost between $800-$1200 to fix. I do not think this is right - I should be able to open my car with a key. I can get by without the keyless entry but all cars, regardless of mileage or years, should open manually with a key.
Power door lock would open and close randomly while driving, from a stopped position to approx 20mph. Recently when using key fob to lock car the doors would randomly unlock(took several times of locking and unlocking( to get the doors to stay locked. This past week the door lock actuator started making a terrible grinding sound when locking/unlocking doors. Now door power door locking system has failed entirely and I have to use the key to open the doors.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that the front passenger door could only be unlocked with the master control on the driver¿s side or with the key fob but it would lock itself if the door was not opened immediately. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis and the latch assembly was replaced. The failure and current mileages were 56,000.
Problem started with driver-side rear locks. Would not always lock, constantly tried to relock itself while driving, and made rattling sound. Problem has spread to all doors. Driver side door will not lock at all. Passenger-side rear lock will not unlock. Hatch will not open. Other doors relock themselves immediately so you have less than one second to open door. Using the key itself makes no difference.
Passenger side door lock does not function properly. The lock slowly unlocks itself.
Right front passenger door will not stay locked, no matter how I try to lock it. It locks and slowly opens itself.
On may 18, 2012, my passenger side door lock started malfunctioning. Every time I would start or stop, the door would lock then immediately unlock. It is unable to be locked using the key fob and is unable to be locked manually by pushing the lever inside the car. So basically the car is unlocked. It is a faulty/defective door lock actuator. Common problem in Hondas. Other models and years have been recalled, but not the 2007 Cr-v. I only have 19,700 miles on my 5 year old car!!! Honda needs to issue a recall. I have already have two other items fixed on this car at no cost because of tsbs being issued (rear differential and transmission module). I have contacted Honda corporate to request a goodwill consideration repair since it will cost approximately $265 to replace this defective/faulty part.
Front driver and trunk doors power locks stop working. It seemed to be very common issue for Honda Cr-vs 2007 and younger. I was told by dealership to replace two latches would cost me staggering $500. It definitely seem to be the design problem. I am not sure why Honda does not act to recall the part, forcing customers to pay for its shortcomings.
The power door locks on my car unlocks and locks while driving . . Passengers and driver side doors lock and cannot reopen unless u have the key or the driver unlocks the door making this a dangerous safety feature . . Thus if something happens to the driver the passengers in the car cannot get out. . Several times that I have gotten out of the car to go into the store and left my handicapped sister in the car she tried to get out to use the stores bathroom and found that she could not get out of the car. . It was locked and the power door locks failed this has happened way too many times according to the internet when this problem is googled it appears to be a common problem . . Honda needs to recall these cars and fix them this is a safety hazard if you were a passenger and got into an accident which knocks the driver out and there was a car fire etc the passengers would burn to death because they can not open the doors from the inside . . . Or the out side . . . Please help us Honda wanted 253. 00 to fix one door lock I have no money to do this they should recall these vehicles . . As they are aware of this problem according to the internet . . .
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that whenever he accelerated from stops, the door locks would involuntarily lock and unlock. On a few occasions, the contact got locked inside of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the rear passenger side door lock was replaced. The failure and current mileages were 112,000.
Rear driver door not locking. When all the doors are locked either using the remote or the master driver door lock button, the rear driver door returns to the unlocked state within one second of locking. It cannot be locked manually and does not remain locked if the button is manually held in place. I have read various complaints of the door locking system becoming faulty. Why won't Honda take ownership and do a recall! I am unfairly having to spend almost $250 to get the actuator replaced. Door locks should come with a lifetime warranty just like seat belts! this is causing a theft hazard as well as a safety hazard for my child riding in the back seat!.
Door locks are locking and unlocking while driving.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that all of the doors were locked and she was unable to unlock any of the doors whether using the electronic key fob nor manually. The contact mentioned that she was not able to enter the vehicle at all. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 150,000 and the current mileage was 180,000.
For the last 2 years my 2007 Cr-v has had issues with electric door-lock operation 1)the passenger door does not unlock. Unlocking all doors via drivers side or key fob momentarily opens the passenger lock ? it then automatically locks again in 2-4 seconds. This is a safety issue as the passenger cannot get out in the event of an emergency. Door handle operation does not over-ride the lock ? and the 2-4 second window electronically unlocking is difficult to synchronize handle operation in the best of circumstance. 2)in addition, all door locks continuously lock?lock?. Lock when driving forward @ approximately 8-10km/hour. I am the original owner. There are many similar complaints ? I see ~ 105 at safercar. Gov.
Failure of door lock. The rear passenger door will not lock despite all attempts to get it to lock and the rear driver door continuously makes a loud clicking sound every 2-3 minutes as if it is locking and unlocking the clicking sound has now changed to a loud buzzing soundthe evening of Nov 11, 2013 my car had been invaded, cannot say broken into because the door would not lock! police report filed. Have appt 11-25-2013 with Honda dealer for diagnosis-actuator?. First owner of a Honda crv 2007.
