On June 23, 2017, at about 8:10 a. M. , I turned in to a dry cleaners store at 5702 everhard road, corpus christi, texas. As I was slowly turning into a parking space and applying my brakes, my 2008 Honda dr-v accelerated on it's own, at a speed so fast I could not stop it, even though I was applying the brakes as hard as I could. The Cr-v traveled about 20-25 feet and hit a pillar of the building head on. The Cr-v hit the pillar with such force that it rebounded back approximately 5 feet from the point of impact. The front of the car was crushed in and the driver's air bag inflated. The sudden, unexplained acceleration of the Cr-v on it's own caused the damage to the front end of the car. My foot was on the brakes the entire time and the Cr-v would not stop.
Ac going out and costly repairs, should not be happening.
Honda replaced both the drivers and passenger front airbags. I was in an accident April 2017. I was broadsided, drivers door was impacted. My head went hrough the drivers window. None of the side airbags inflated. The body shop was disturbed that the airbags did not deploy. I have been in physical therapy since the accident. The va has been supplying medical treatment. Honda denied responsibility although they never saw the car. My insurance company progressive will not repair the faulty airbags because they were faulty before the accident. Westport Honda where I originally purchased the car is not interested in taking it as a trade in because of the known airbag problem. What am I supposed to do? I'm afraid to drive the car. I can't sell the car without revealing the known problem with the airbags. The dashboard display light comes on without warning indicating the side airbags are not working. The indicator is off most of the time. I never know when it's going to come on and how long it's going to be on. Honda indicated to me that the system needs to be tested at my expense. I am disabled and can not afford to have this done. Or able to travel to such a facility.
Took crv in for door lock recall. Driver side was making noise. That was fixed. Then passenger side started making noise. When I took in in to modesto Honda they said that it was no longer covered. I would have to pay for the repair.
Takata recall, finally got call from dealership for the repair long dued since Jun 2016. Was told power steering fluid is leaking, repair cost 1584. 17, oil pressure switch leaking, repair cost 187. 45. Could not afford the repair with living depend on social security income. Was not notice any abnormal while driving. Only drove 69,746 miles.
A/c clutch and coil is poorly designed. In the 2002-2009 Honda Cr-v there's no head shield or housing. Consequently, will disintegrate the compressor of the a/c system. In addition, when the a/c clutch explodes it will shoot shrapnel or pieces of metal. Again because of the poor design it's a matter of when not if this part will break or malfunction will may cause someone bodily harm. A service bulletin was issued by Honda: service advisory/service bulletin #12-072. However, this was not a recall, and in order for the a/c compressor clutch and coil to be replace in needs to be faulty, and if your vehicle has past the extended warranty period Honda of north America refuses to cover or change this part. The owner then must pay a Honda dealer to check the car, this will cost $150. When will call Honda of north America and ask for "goodwill assistance" the customer service personnel over the telephone are belligerent. The customer service personnel will tell you over the telephone they will not cover this defect. Therefore, the owner is left paying for the manufacturer's derelict a/c compressor clutch and coil part. The condition occurs when the car is motion on the street and highway.
Rear passenger door lock not working. Went to the Honda dealership and had to replace the actuator in the door . It cost me almost $300. 00 to get this fixed. I know there was recall recently on the door locks on the 2008 crv . Why was this not a recall issue?.
The locks on my door randomly lock when I unlock them. Sometimes I can be in the middle of opening an unlocked door then the door locks. All four doors have locked with the key in the ignition and car running. I have had to call someone to try and unlock the door with the car running, all doors locked, and my son in the car. The weather stripping was damaged on the driver side door since someone tried to get into my locked car.
Driver rear door lock actuator makes a clicking sound . . Keeps locking and unlocking while car is in motion on surface streets. Took it in to dealer who advise there was recall on door lock actuators only for front passenger and driver side. Recall does not pertain to the rear door lock actuators. Paid total $259. 25 for parts and labor to have this repaired at dealer on sept 14, 2016. I believe this problem should have also been covered by the recall. First took car in on Aug 25, 2016 for takata recall. I was also advised by tech that they had done check on Honda service safety recall 14-083 door lock actuator pud. Invoice 552018 8/25/2016 my question is why recall was for only front door lock actuator when the rear door lock actuators have the same problem?? invoice 555643 9/14/2016.
Passenger door lock un-latched and re-latched while driving down the road. When attempting to exit vehicle after parking the door latch is stuck and will not let you out. Also it now makes a horrible loud noise when the auto-door locks activate after accelerating, or when attempting to lock or unlock doors with key fob.
"takata recall" compressor clutch malfunction. Bad bearings in hub. Noticed that all Honda crv models from in hitherto has recall on current issue.
Front passenger lock jamming. Power steering reservoir bubbling and making a whirring noise.
Driver side rear locks periodically unlock on their own. The driver's actuator was replaced via recall. Dealer refused to replace other actuators claiming that recall has expired.
Takata recall - I first received a recall letter from Honda regarding the airbag recall form 2008 crv last winter. The letter said parts would not be available until summer, and they would notify me then as to replacing the airbags. I began calling two local dealers who said they did not have the parts, but would notify me when they do. Meanwhile, I have to keep driving the "unsafe" vehicle. I continue to call them, they do have my information on file, and I make them verify that by giving me the VIN number each time I call so I know I am in the queue. Meanwhile, today I received a letter from Honda saying it is important that I respond. Do I still own the vehicle? they have my VIN number. I would hope that when the dealer records it in the waiting list, the data would be uploaded to Honda's database. Apparently not, the number is on the letter. But that's just one of the many annoyances. My biggest issue is that I have a vehicle that they are telling me is very unsafe for me or a passenger, yet they expect me to continue using this vehicle until they decide to fix it. . I would think they have huge liability. In addition, a friend had the airbags replied in her civic last winter at the same dealer, diamond valley Honda in hemet, California. What is this? please look into this. In spite of Honda's pr efforts (and money spent), neither they nor the dealer display any true sense of urgency in protecting the safety of the owners. I have owned only Honda vehicles since 1980, and sorry to say this definitely taints my loyalty.
Rear driver-side door unlocks by itself immediately after being locked and will not stay in the locked position. Honda acknowledged that these door lock actuators were defective and issued a "product update" on the driver's door and extended the warranty 3 additional years on all other doors. The extended warranty has now expired and Honda will no longer replace defective locks on any doors other than the driver's door. All door locks have the same problem, but they don't all fail at the same time or within the extended warranty period. Called Honda and was told "there is nothing we can do for you. ".
Door lock actuator fails. Front passenger door will no longer lock, causing the doors to try and repeatedly lock while driving. The door locks for a brief second and then the lock slides open. This is a known problem. Honda issued a recall for the driver door lock actuator only. They issued a warranty extension for the remaining doors until November 2015, but the passenger front door lock actuator on my car did not have any issues until June 2016 so the dealership will do nothing about it. This is a safety hazard and a known problem. Honda should recall all 4 door lock actuators.
Ever since I bought the car every time the weather gets hot and I have my ac on or try to start the car it turns off. Even when I'm driving he car turns off I have took it to mechanic shops and hey have ran it through the diagnostics and still cannot find the problem. I have change the battery, fuel pump, alternator, ignition switch, fuel relay, and gave it a tune up but still can't figure out why it turns off and Honda says my car is fine but it's not! please I need answers of why my car is doing this.
Door locks: 1st - passenger rear door locks/ unlocks and makes bad gear stripping sound. Sometimes passenger can't get out. 2nd - drivers rear door will not lock. Kids can open door while in motion plus now thieves can enter vehicle.
Had door lock fixed due to recall in the past, door continues to lock on its own and sometimes not unlock at all make it a safety issue if someone needs to get out of the vehicle quickly.
Vehicle was in motion, brakes started to vibrate & upon taking it to the dealership was informed that the problem with the brakes is is a faulty abs module. This was after new brakes had been installed, new rotors, paid to have the brake system bled twice (about $700). To install a new abs module, the cost is $2,100 just for the part from Honda. The car is now dangerous to drive without the part. Honda dealership service shop foreman informed me this is a common occurrence on these cars. In addition, I received a letter that there is a takata airbag recall for this car in March, now it is April and those new parts have not been received by the dealer yet. I have a car sitting in my driveway that is not safe to drive now 1) it needs a $2100 part, which the service foreman tells me is not guaranteed to last because they are faulty; and 2) there is an airbag part that is not available at any dealership that I have checked; and 3) the factory alarm will not set, I have had it checked by two Honda dealerships and they do not know what is wrong with it. This car is not safe to drive.
Honda issued a "notice" about the locks malfunctioning on the crv but this is more of a serious issue that deserves a recall. If you missed the deadline for the "notice" then you have to pay to have your locks repaired. They are locking and unlocking by themselves while traveling down the highway. This is unsafe for more than one reason. For one it allows children to open the door due to it not being locked and they could fall out. It also allows for someone to open your door and get in without you having control over it. The doors unlock at any rate of speed and will not stay locked when you relock them. This is only fixed by having the lock actuator replaced which many people can't afford since it happens on all 4 doors of this vehicle. This is a serious safety hazard.
I have key with door locks on it, when I unlock the car, it automatically locks again, without pushing the other button to lock it. Also, the a/c has been fixed 4 times and within a week , just blows out warm air, have taken to several mechanics, Honda dealer/garage says they wont fix unless there is a recall.
Car "jerks" or slips when going uphill. Reported to mcminnville Honda, mcminnville, oregon 97128 beginning of 2016. Service manager said unable to duplicate "jerking" or slipping action when going uphill. Told me to contact Honda customer service, which I have done twice now. My Honda care warranty expires tomorrow, 10/11/16. Now I have to worry that after tomorrow my dealership will find the "jerking" or slipping problem and I will be handed a huge bill which I cannot pay. My 2008 Cr-v has 95,000 miles on it currently and I was told "you will get about 200,000 miles on this car by the salesman" who sold me this car! I am 70 years old and on a fixed income and cannot afford an expensive repair. I have discussed this with Honda customer service and my dealership and now I am desperate. I paid over $1200. For the Honda care warranty and now I am "being held up" by the threat of not being told there is something wrong and now that your warranty has ended you are on the hook for a problem you first reported in the beginning of the year! could this be caused by the transmission or some other part I. E. Axel? I was told in 2011 by right Honda, scottsdale, az, that Honda care disallowed a problem with the rear axel. Please help me. Thank you. The safety recall hotline is closed today for columbus day.
A/c started blowing out warm air. I called local Honda service and was told no recall for my VIN# but I could bring it in for $115 diagnostic charge. Honda extended warranty to 7 yrs or 100,000 miles whichever comes first to replace a/c compressor clutch and field coil if needed but my vehicle has 110,000 miles on it so it would not be covered. I read numerous complaints about this issue and if there is a defect then Honda should add to recall so this is covered. I read something about a class action lawsuit that was filed and settled already in 2011/2012 for ac problems with Honda.
The a/c compressor unit has failed and Honda kept the recall quiet now my vehicle has gone just outside the warranty coverage repair window this unit has a design flaw and Honda should have given a no limit on the repair like they did with the window actuator I forgot to mention that recall only happened due to a class action lawsuit.
The moon roof exploded out ward while on the free way. It cost 900. 00 to replace.
I was in a parking lot and wanted to move to another one. I put car in gear and as I started out I heard the engine rev very loud and car lurched forward. I applied brakes and placed the car in park. Engine was still revving high. I turned off engine and then back on again. Car seemed to behave normally and I drove home (about 1 mile). I called a Honda dealer service number and explained what happened. They were supposed to call back but did not. The next day I called the service at another dealer (dch Honda of paramus). I spoke to an auris rodriguez who told me there were no recalls for unintended accelration for any 2008 crv's. I wrote an e-mail to her to document the phone conversation then called another.
While driving from my home I got to a toll booth and after paying the toll placed my foot on the accelerator and the car simply revved as if it was in neutral with rpms varying indiscriminately. Suddenly the car jerked forward with a loud bang and moved normally I pulled to the shoulder and checked fluids and for signs of any problems. We received no dashboard warning lights. We continued our trip but the car would not shift between 3rd and 4th gear and we couldn't maintain speed. Suddenly the incident at the toll both repeated itself. I shut the car down although temperature was ok as was oil pressure. After a short wait we resumed driving and the car performed normally for about 50 miles and then it was back to no shift or long duration before shift and then a banging noise. We got to our destination and car was parked for about 3 hours. After starting the car and placing it in drive I had a hard shift between 1st and 2nd gear I was making a left hand turn and the failure to accelerate put us in danger of a rear impact collision. I called Honda but it was not something they would even talk about over the phone. We continued on our return trip and wre cruising at the 70 mph limit in the middle lane on I 75 in florida when suddenly the transmission dropped out of gear going into a neutral mode the engine rpms were moving all over the place. I was slowing down and attempting to get to the shoulder. After getting to the shoulder I cycled through all the transmission positions and could achieve 3rd gear but it would go in and out of 4th gear. When these conditions occurred I did not feel I was in control of the vehicle nor safe. I have never had a problem with this vehicle before however I am being told that it is a problem on multiple models of Hondas. I am a trained, certified, accident ,engineer reconstructionist ( mostly large vehicles and urban buses ).
I had my mother-in-law in the left rear seat of my 2008 Honda crv and we arrived at our destination and I unlocked all the doors by using my key unlock feature. My mother-in-law could not open the door and my spouse said I would have to get out and open the door from the outside. I did and the door opened. So, I rolled down the left rear glass and closed and locked all the doors. I unlocked all the doors and reached in and tried opening the door and it would not open, but the outside door handle opened the door. This is a safety hazard as we carry a 4 year old grandson in the rear seat or for anyone else we carry in the rear seat.
Door locks. When it is warm outside above 55 degrees the passenger front door lock will not stay locked. If it is below 55 degrees the doors will lock by itself. This is a safety concern as while driving the door could open up. I have read that Honda is aware of the incidents as there are many claims on this. It is only the passenger front door and Honda wants to charge 105 dollars just to find out what is wrong. That is not even to fix the problem that they know exists.
Approximately 2 months ago, periodically, while driving (30-45mph) we would hear an unusual whirling noise in the motor; not harsh but more a purring sound. The next time we drove the car we would not hear it. It continued but spasmotically. Then in November we began having trouble starting the engine. We had a new battery installed but again, periodically, both the whirling noise and no engine turnover. Yesterday, after making a quick stop before going to work, we had to call a tow truck CO. Who also checked the battery (now less than a month old and charging perfectly). We are not certain of the relationship between the noise and the failure to start.
The rear passenger door will not stay locked. It slowly unlocks and this poses a safety concern for children in the back as well as the fact that my vehicle cannot ever be locked.
Both rear door locks don't stay locked. After you pass 10 mi per hour the locks unlock and make a loud clanking sound when this happens. After you stop and turn off car they don't lock, you have to try 2-3 times to lock them. Also when you lock or unlock the car there is a loud clanky sound from the locks.
The back passenger door will not lock.
I also have a Honda crv 2008. The left rear door started unlocking while the vehicle was in operation. I used to be able to play with the doors and the locking mechanism a bit and finally get it to stay locked. However, since it first started, it has gotten progressively worse and now is not locking at all which presents both a safety and security risk. I spoke with Honda and there is no recall on this safety/security issue. However findlaw. Com says there is a recall for 2012 crvs and Acura ilxs for this same issue. I am curious as to why it was not extended to all crvs experiencing this same problem.
