general problems of the 2011 Honda CR-V

I was driving down a road on the way to take my son to his swim team training. I got about f 5 min away from our home and I felt a large clunk, almost as if I ran something over that was large. I had difficulty steering my vehicle, had a loud weird noise coming from the vehicle, and pulled over. I inspected the vehicle outside, I hit nothing. Wheels looked fine. I popped open the hood and started to inspect, it was getting dark so it was difficult to see. I found that the engine mount bolts had sheared clean off of the engine, causing the engine to drop, cracking the engine bracket and the engine almost falling out of the vehicle onto the ground. It it was not for the cross member below it may have completely fallen out. . The vehicle had to be towed as it was not drivable at this point. I had the vehicle towed to schlossmanns Honda in greenfield WI for repair. Currently my vehicle is at a Honda dealer being inspected for corrosion as I live in the rust belt and there is a recall for corrosion on this vehicle.

I bought my car in 2021, and starting immediately I had issues with my tires going flat, my suspension jolting any time a bump was hit, my gear shift does not fully shift into park which makes it nearly impossible to get my key out of the ignition, I was given a spare key to someone else’s car and was never issued a new one, and dealership (carmax) has not made an attempt to help with repair on current safety recall.

Poor acceleration and pickup when applying gas. Worse in hotter weather. There is a Honda service bulletin for thus problem on same year vehicle for computer firmware update to fix the problem, 10-077 TSB, but my local Honda dealer refuses to do it. Says my VIN doesn't fall into it, even know the symptoms are exactly what it fixes. Frustrated. No pickup is really dangerous when trying to get on interstate and it is my daughter's car.

Oil consumption is exaggerated with to obvious observed signs, I. E, no visible leaks, no blue smoke from tailpipe, no smell behind vehicle. Oil needs to be added every ~70 miles as per the dipstick. Engine light will illuminate when oil too low. Car running fine otherwise. Is this happening to others? respectfully, careful driver.

Interstate highway driving at highway speed 70mph up an incline or hilly area would cause the 2011 crv engine to hesitate accelerating, causing a high rpm rev but no speed increase, I. E. The engine would struggle to keep the same speed requiring the driver to drive at lower speeds like 60mph to avoid the excessive rpm. This potentially is a danger to other vehicles on the highway interstate. Honda is already aware of this and has issued a technical service bulletin #10-077 for dealers to update the pcm pgm-fi software to the latest version. However given 2011 vehicles are no longer in warranty, the owner is often forced to pay dealers 1 full hour of diagnostics fee instead of the 0. 3 hour flat rate labor outlined in Honda's TSB for in-warranty vehicles.

On March 11, 2018 I backed into my driveway, turned off the engine and parked next to my porch. Before going into the house, my grandson told me to look at the car which was smoking under the hood. Within seconds the smoke turned dark gray. The fire department arrived in 3 minutes. I could see fire underneath the engine on the bottom at the driveway. The front door windows were busted to put out the fire on the dashboard, too.

The oil consumption of this vehicle is extremely high and has progressively gotten worse to the point it has become undrivable. I have to put oil in every other day. It's completely not okay to make and sell faulty vehicles.

Hi. I have a 2011 Honda crv. VIN # 5j6re4h78bl122909. It has a little over 98,500 miles on it. I bought it from schlossmann Honda city 3450 s 108th st, milwaukee, WI 53227. It was a leased vehicle before I purchased it. I have noticed since owning it that it consumes oil. I have been doing some researching on this problem and have found out that Honda motors have been reported with this such problem. My question to Honda; 1. How long is this warranty on my vehicle for motor and drivetrain? 2. How do I prove that it consumes oil, since I have no prior records of service from the past? I do all my own work on vehicles, ie; oil changes, air filter changes, brakes & rotors replacement, spark plugs, and even adding air to the tires and pumping gas. You don't need to be a certified mechanic to do any of this work. I'm not saying that everyone is capable of doing this kind of work, but I feel I am. I have always worked my my own vehicles since I was 16 years old. I have 42 years of experience with maintenance of vehicles. I have proof that it consumes oil, as I have been documenting it myself. It is (1) quart of oil down in 500 miles since I just changed it. I usually have to add (3) quarts before my oil change is even at 50% life left on the oil life maintenance display on the dash. I end up changing the oil early, (before 3000 miles or 0% oil life) of recommended schedule oil change. I use quality valvoline or mobil 1 oil, sae 0 � 20w full synthetic oil. I also use fram oil filters ph7317. I don't use cheap oil, oil filters, air filters or inferior products in my vehicles. The same goes for my harley davidson. My car used to run 24mpg. Now drop down to the 15-18mpg. I don't know what is going on? also the air conditioner run on summer will be hot air out.

The engine light is always on I brought to them and it and they return it to me its still on I dont know whats wrong. No my ac I also blowing hot air instead of cold many complains but they dont do anything we need help. Air bag I called they said they will call but nobody called fir recall.

I was fully stopped with my foot on the brake at an intersection. My engine accelerated and the car bucked. I pushed my foot harder on the brake to keep from entering the intersection.

At times when I lightly apply the brakes, it feels like it is trying to accelerate instead of slow down. It does this for a few seconds. It's kind of like a quick rev of the engine. Also when I lightly apply brakes, I feel a small clunk or a quick grip. Then it lets loose. It feels like it is coming from the rear right side. It happens at various times.

I was driving my 2011 Honda Cr-v last night and was slowing to take an exit off of a freeway. It felt as though the brakes were failing as I was having to step on them really hard to slow down. As I approached the stoplight at the end of the exit ramp, I felt as though I was not going to stop. I put the Cr-v in neutral and heard the engine rev really hard and saw the tachometer reading jump over to 5000 rpm. Within seconds, the engine slowed back down to idle speed and I managed to drive the last mile to my home without incident.

Was at very low speed and attempting to park my car in a mall parking spot. As I tried to slow down further and park the car and turning into the spot, the car accelerated even though I applied maximum pressure to the brakes. The car continued to accelerate and I side swiped one car on my left and rammed the car in front of my space---my car continued to accelerate. The car finally stopped because of the impact to the other vehicle and I finally could turn the car off as it was still running. This is the second time this has happened. Both instances were very similar as I was parking the car in a space at low speed. The first instance was very minor (occurred in Mar 2013) but this instance is very major--serious damage to my car and the other cars--I was lucky I did not get hurt in either case--something is wrong with this car and maybe 2011 Cr-vs.

The car was sitting on a hill, and I turned the key in the on position. I then turned the key to start, and the engine did not turn over, and the cab lost all power. So I took it to auto zone, and they said that nothing was wrong with it.

I was positioned at an intersection, waiting to make a left turn in heavy traffic. Since this vehicle is more powerful than the one I had, pulling out into traffic didn't concern me that much. Well, it does now. It went just enough into the intersection to get me into a near crash situation. It just totally bogged down. Throttle position sensor maybe? I have talked to four people with 2010 and 2011 crv's and they say the same thing. I love this car, but this has to be addressed. I have had no other problems except for this. This is a real downer for me in relation to this car. Help us Honda.

Three times dangerous and unwanted acceleration when braking at stop light. Engine severely revved up, had to put vehicle into neutral. Took it into Honda dealership where we purchased the vehicle. They had their mechanic check it out and could find nothing wrong. The next day we had a meeting with the district service manager and he had it rechecked and he took it for a test drive. He could not recreate the problem and therefore couldn't do anything more. Since they couldn't diagnose a problem, he said to continue driving it to see if the situation recurred. I am now afraid to drive my new six month old car and have lost faith in its reliability.

Safety issue with 2011 Honda crv engine periodically maintaining revs or speeding up when trying to stop. Must hold brake down hard, go to neutral, turn car off, and restart car to fix problem. Honda says no fault codes are reported and so does nothing.
