1 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2017

I have a Honda Cr-v 2011. In October of 2016 I took my car to the dealership because the oil light had come on. They told me my car was 4 1/2 quarts low. They told me to come back after a bit and have them check the oil again. When I took it back they told me my car was using oil with no leaks. They have two options to rebuild existing motor with new pistons and rings or a rebuilt motor. I have talked with mike who is a rep from Honda. He has told me that I am out of warranty and that there are no recalls for my VIN number. I came across a recall from an article in consumer reports back in 2015. This article describes exactly what my car is doing and says Honda is extending the warranty for eight years or 125,000 miles from the original purchase. I bought my car brand new in November of 2011. It has 85,000 miles on it. This article also sites Honda service bulletin 12-089 for Cr-vs (12-087 for accord).
