general problems of the 2016 Honda CR-V

I parked the car and left it running. I exited the car and left the front door standing open. I unbuckled my children and helped my four year old out of the car. I went back to the driver's door, leaned in with my right knee on the seat, and took out the keys. My left leg was still on the ground outside the vehicle. After a few moments the car started rolling. I was dragged backwards down the driveway and into the street. I was able to brace myself between the door handle and the steering wheel, keeping the door from pushing shut and shoving my leg under the car. This also allowed me to maneuver my right leg off the driver's seat and slam on the brake. I managed to keep my leg from getting caught under the wheel, but it was an extremely near thing. As far as I know at the moment I only have bruising and scrapes/road burn. If I had leaned in with my left leg, been wearing sandals, or lacked upper body strength I would've been unable to stop myself from getting dragged under the car and run over. If my 6 year old had been a bit faster stepping out of the car he would've been knocked over by his door and potentially dragged under as well. We both could have been seriously injured or died if this had gone even slightly differently. I'm extremely lucky and extremely terrified.

This isn't related to an accident. This issue is about the rear brakes on my 2016 Honda Cr-v. I currently have only 22,275 miles approx. On this vehicle but I'm told that I need to replace the rear brakes for frozen calipers once again. The rear brakes and calipers first presented a problem in July 2018 when the rear brake pads and calipers were repaired due to being frozen and also a bent caliper pin. This was at 9879 miles. Now 4 years later I'm told that once again the calipers have frozen (22,275 miles) and they and the rear pads have to be fixed again. Is this a problem inherent to this vehicle alone or have you found other Cr-v's with this isssue either just 2016's or all Cr-v's?.

Started the car in the parking lot. The engine was idling a bit rough. Put the car in drive. Suddenly the engine roared and accelerated. Tried to apply the brake. It did not work. Fortunately did not hit any other cars in the parking lot. The car jumped over the curb at the edge of the parking lot, went into a ditch and hit a tree. Came to a stop. The airbag was activated. The engine was still running at high rpm. Fortunately this malfunction happened in a parking lot and not on a busy city road !!!!! this bizarre incident points to potential malfunction of the computer controls. Forensic investigation is needed to rule out this possibility.

I believe a sudden unintended acceleration issue caused an accident with my 2016 Honda Cr-v as I was driving to work on December 12, 2019. At that time, I had been driving for over 36 years both on maui and as an air force officer in the conus. In all that time, I had never driven recklessly or even sped as is evidenced by my driving record. That morning, my vehicle had reportedly been driving at a high rate of speed and ended up flipping over several times leading to my hospitalization and surgery for spinal fusion. Unfortunately, due to the resulting concussion, I can't remember anything from the morning of the incident until waking up in the icu after surgery, not even driving to work. Knowing that I would never purposely speed, I hired someone to download the black box data. To my shock, it showed constant acceleration, no steering inputs, and no braking inputs for at least five seconds. The only reason I've decided to put this out there now is due to the parallels I've read about with tiger woods� recent accident. I don't believe anyone who has driven for decades would ever mistake the accelerator for the brake pedal. Moreover, if they did, their instinct would be to quickly release the accelerator then brake, definitely not to continue to floor it for several seconds. I'm not expecting to get anything personally out of this complaint. My main hope is that investigation will be done to prevent further injuries and deaths. Please investigate to see if many other black box reports from similar accidents show accelerator floored with no braking or steering inputs for several seconds. Perhaps there is some combination of inputs causing wrong signals to be sent to the electronic control module. I believe the reason there aren't many more reports of this is due to the unfortunate fact that in most cases, the driver ends up either dead or having a concussion.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while driving and approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed and the contact stated they felt a vibration in the vehicle. The contact stated that the vibration ceased when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

My back breaks (pad and rotors0 need replacing at 35,000 miles. Noise started and made appt. For two days later. Auto master where I purchased the care said I was lucky I got 35k out of them, they have seen them go around 22k. I have never had breaks go on a vehicle at 35k. I have read many other people complaining about this problem on their crvs. Replacement cost from dealer is outrageous. And the dealership could have cared less that I only got 35k out of the breaks. This will be last vehicle purchased from them and the last Honda. May even look at trading it now after the breaks are done being fixed. Very dissatisfied with Honda and the dealership. I always believed Honda to be great vehicles but am learning it is not so. Very unhappy customer.

When we were reversing the car brakes stopped responding. The car wouldn't turn off and it kept rolling backwards so we had to use the emergency brakes. We put it into drive and the car still rolled backwards and the brakes wouldn't respond.

Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, when approaching a cross road another vehicle coming form the right side failed to stop. The contact stated she drove to the left to avoid impacted and crashed the front passenger side of her vehicle into on to other vehicle. The contact was unaware of any warning lights illuminating. The contact stated that the cmbs system engaged however, the vehicle was unable to immediately stop when the brake pedal was depressed. The air bag did deploy. A police report was filed. The contact stated she sustained a concussion and neck injury. The contact did seek medical attention. The contact stated the driver from the other vehicle was taken with an ambulance but was not aware of medical attention was provide. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to independent mechanic. The vehicle has been repaired by independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired as of yet. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer has been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 20,000. Dp.

I bought this car from Honda and I had to bring it back three times within the first 30 days for them to fix a window that was making a noise I also asked him if he could please take a look and drive my car because whenever I break or I’m trying to speed up my car seems to stall and the engine can’t catch up and then all of a sudden it bucks forward of course they said they cannot find the issue they will call the manager and no one has ever called me back to fix this issue I looked up recalls I don’t know if there is one on this vehicle or not but I need some help.

My feet get tangled between the brake and gas. I had unintended acceleration due to this problem. The car idle is set at 5mph once you take your foot off the brake the car assumes you are going forward and does seek to go 5 mph no matter your intentions. The brake and the gas are only 2. 5 inches apart. When trying to brake my foot was pinned under the brake pedal and causing the car to go 5 miles per hour. I have avoided any number of untended crashes due to this problem.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Cr-v. While pulling into a parking spot at 3 mph, the brake pedal depressed completely to the floorboard. The vehicle crashed into a concrete wall without warning. When the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, the brake indicator illuminated and the brake pedal depressed to the floor again. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,552.

Driving in neighborhood at 20-25 mph, going down small hill, vehicle suddenly accelerated to about 40 mph. Applied brakes, with no result. Continued up gradual incline and was able to stop. After a couple of minutes, determined that brakes were again responding, continued slowly to destination (two or three blocks). Honda arranged tow to dealer. Dealer has not been able to "duplicate customer concern," and states that the vehicle is ready for us to pick up. Do not want to drive this brand new car again.
