36 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2022

System failure: fuel emissions system problem and all other warning lights are on. Safety: cruise control does not function and automatic breaking does not function. Dealership: yes, the problem was reproduced even after the spark plugs and rocket arm assembly were replaced inside the limits of the 6 year unlimited mileage warranty. The dealership acknowledged that 5 or 6 other customers were in with similar complaints this month. Others: an independent garage inspected the vehicle and confirmed that a warranty should cover this problem some 8 months ago. Indications are a weak cylinder may be the root cause of the fuel emissions system problem in addition to the fuel injectors and pipes. Warning lamps, messages and other symptoms were present prior to the failure and appeared well before the manufacturer's warranty expired. The dealership we purchased the vehicle from failed to locate the problem and did not repair when we first discovered the problem and brought the vehicle in for repair in 11/2020. We recently contacted Honda corporation directly and they gave us a case number for reference while they review this complaint.

37 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2021

All warning lights on dash show up upon starting vehicle. Used to be intermittent, now constant. When lights are on, none of the safety or advanced driving features work--eg cruise control, lane keep assist, anti lock brake, parking brake. It has been taken to the dealership twice for this issue, and dealership has tried various things from replacing battery to updating software with no effect, costing hundreds of dollars and weeks of it being in the shop. From my internet search, this problem seems widespread and I do not feel safe driving without the safety features, abs, etc.

38 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2021

I have experienced problems with this since December 2021. All warning lights start flashing with hill start problem, brake system problem, brake hold problem, adaptive control problem, stability problem, tpms problem, road departure mitigation problem. These warning continue to cycle over and over. Once the warnings are cleared, there are no issues for a few weeks to a month, but it returns. This has occurred 5-6 times since December. I replaced the battery three weeks ago and the issue reappeared today, 27 Apr 22. While researching the issue, I discovered many Honda users experiencing the same issue. This is an issue Honda has to address this issue. I am the only owner of my vehicle which only has 39k miles on it.

39 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2021

Recently my 2017 Honda crv started flashing these 3 warning 1. Road departure mitigation system problem 2. Adaptive cruise control problem 3. Collision mitigation system problem. But once in quarter these warnings flash but after engine power off/on warning message goes away. Last week when I was driving on the interstate highway, all of sudden this warning flashed, after a while I stopped at a service station. Off/ on the engine but all of the 3 warnings didn't go off. From a safety point of view cruise/collision mitigation/collision mitigation control is very important on highway. At-least these features prevent and keep you alert while changing lanes, apply proper braking system on the highway from safety measure. The vehicle has not been driven more than 42k miles in the last 4 years. Although the 3 year 36 miles standard warranty is already passed. Today when I went to the service center after diagnosticians they mentioned that the cruise control sensor has failed due to these issues. Due to pandemic the supply chain is impacted and part is not available. So I ordered the part to the service center. The brake system light is also on. Similar issue occurred sometime in 2018 after purchase of the new car in 2017. Initially I informed this issue to the service center. Case no was open with Honda - case # 06624477. But the issue was not able to be replicated, the service center people told me that the software is updated and that it is not going to flash again. Looks like these new generation cars start creating problems once it completes its life cycle of 3 years and 36k miles warranty period. At least going for a new car was for peace of mind, but looks like this went the other way for me. Last 6 month back I had to get repaired the complete air conditioner unit, service center people mentioned that ac hose pipe has leakage.

40 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2021

While I was driving on the highway with cruise control on, the car kept slowing down because of shadow from car in the other lane.

41 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2021

For some unknown reason all the warning lights will come on in the instrument cluster. This includes all the safety features of the vehicle. When the lights are on none of the safety features work. This includes the emergency braking, lane keep assist, and the cruise control just to name a few. I have reached out to the Honda corp. With no luck on getting the issue fixed.

42 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 07/17/2021

While driving on the NJ turnpike dashboard lights came on indicating system issue with adaptive cruise control, road hazard mitigation system and brake system. Went to the dealer and they said the radar needed to be replaced at a cost of $1300. Research on the internet indicates this is a problem with many 2017 Honda crv's and class action lawsuits have been launched across the country. I believe there should be a recall on the 2017 Honda crv since it is affecting so many vehicles. Thank you.

43 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2021

All ada warning lights come on when vehicle is being driven. Does not seem to affect drivability but all functions are disabled. Lights have gone off on their own once other times had to cycle power on computer to reset. Problem is becoming more frequent.

44 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2021

While driving under ordinary conditions, warning systems begin. The first warning is to pull over because the awd system is overheating. From that point, many different warning messages begin scrolling with repeated warnings of all systems in the car failing. This has happened on two separate occasions, approximately 3 weeks apart. Also, on one occassion, while driving, the brake light began to flash to caution a slow down, and there were no other vehicles or obstacles on any side of the car. After the car has been parked for several hours, the computer seems to "reset" itself, and normal operation is returned. All instances occurred during normal city driving at speeds below 35 miles per hour.

45 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2021

For the past few months all of my warning lights come on. They will go off at times, other times I have to pull over to restart my car. In addition, my display will go dim or get very bright on it's own. On February 27, 2021 my alarm started to go off for no reason. They car was parked in my driveway and no one was near the remote. I could not get the alarm to go off, no matter what I did. On Monday, March 1st I went to start my car and it would not start or respond to anything with the remote. I contacted the dealership, valley Honda in monroeville, PA. They stated that it could be the battery having low voltage. The dealership is over 45 minutes away and I needed a vehicle to help care for my ill father so I purchased a new battery and installed it late Monday night. As soon as I started the vehicle all of the dashboards lights started flashing and the alarm would randomly go off. This continued until I could get it to the dealership on weds night. They diagnosed it as a body control module. My car is only 4 years old with 50k mileage but the Honda warranty is out. I even called Honda who only offered a courtesy partial payment, as long as I did not pick up my vehicle until they finished their investigation. There is absolutely no reason for my display to have been acting up or a need to replace a bcm with a vehicle that is only 4 years old!.

46 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2021

Honda sensing turns off every time there is moderate rain or snow. The radar is not blocked nor is any windshield sensor. These sensors become unavailable when they are needed the most. This has happened multiple times.

47 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 02/09/2021

Malfunction indicators all light up at the same time. Mechanic can't find anything wrong, but he resets the computer and the lights go off. . . . Temporarily! the lights stay on until I go back to the mechanic. This is the second time. My car is no longer under warranty. . . If I go there, it'll cost a fortune for them just to look at it, and then another fortune for charging to fix the problem. Car is stationary. . . Happens when I turn the car on. I live in tucson, az, so I doubt it's the weather!.

48 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2021

Car brakes suddenly without cause. Brakes are applied abruptly simultaneously with visual warning. No obstacle present. This occurs at low speed (less than 30 mph) on city streets. Seems to be triggered by bright lines on road surface (railroad tracks, rumble strips) perpendicular to travel direction. When using adaptive cruise control car misinterprets vehicle in deceleration lane on interstate as being present and slowing in travel lane in front of it. This results in rapid deceleration in the travel lane. Fortunately there have not been any vehicles following close when these events occur. Brought car to dealer multiple times without resolution of the problem.

49 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2021

1. Vehicle inappropriately braked to a full stop for no apparent reason. Vehicle moving at slow speed both times. Occurred in July 2019 and Jan 2021 informed dealer both times. Vehicle inspected after the first time and indicated system is working as designed. No accident occurred but alarming that an accident could have easily happened if there was a car behind us. 2. No longer using cruise control because car inappropriately brakes. The car has slowed down enough where we had to press the gas to avoid a collision on the highway. The braking occurred when there was more than enough distance between our vehicle and the vehicle in front. We did not notify the dealer or this issue because we assumed it was a design issue and could not be fixed by a technician. 3. On the highway, passing certain exits triggers the lane departure warning, forcing the car to brake. We have to press on the gas in order to drive safely through the trouble spots to avoid being rear ended. We have gotten to know certain exits because there is a concern that this could happen unexpectedly as we drive new roads. We verbally communicated this to Honda corporate and the dealer in Jan 2021, and the response was that this is expected behavior and to see the manual for limitations of the system. I did receive confirmation that others have reported this concern as well. The safety features have triggered enough false positives for us that we no longer drive this car with the family and only when needed. Since we have observed other reports noting the exact same issues, we are assuming that there is a trend and others share the same safety concerns.

50 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2020

I get bunch of error messages on my dashboard display stating there are multiple system failure, like break system problem, forward collision system problem, lane keeping assistance problem, adaptive cruise control system problem, electric parking break problem, tire pressure monitor problem, emission system problem etc. Because of this if I have adaptive cruise control activated, suddenly I start getting these errors and cruise control stops working, my break hold system failed, I was standing of traffic signal with break hold applied and suddenly I started getting these errors, I had to push break manually to keep it stop, otherwise it would have started moving because break hold system was failed. I have researched on it and a lot of more Honda crv 2017 customers getting these errors and there is no solution provided by Honda. This issue can be dangerous when we rely on these security feature while driving on highway and suddenly this system failure message appears, all security system stops working.

51 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2020

Recently replaced battery in summer of 2020. Gave the vehicle in question a jump and upon starting, several warning lights appeared that have to do with some of the Smart vehicle control. Once battery was installed lights went away for a few days. But after a few days, the warning lights have continuously appeared on the dash immediately upon starting. These lights have to do with cruise control, hill start assist, traction control, and all wheel drive. While at first, it was thought the lights were giving a false positive, but now, it is confirmed that the safety features that the lights are indicating are not working posing numerous safety concerns. Honda corporation and Honda dealership have not dealt with or proposed any solutions on the matter. Living in a winter climate, all wheel drive is vital and after a recent snow event, the all wheel drive is not functioning at all posing great safety concern. The lights are on at all times as long as the ignition is on, regardless of stopped or actively moving.

52 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2020

Warning lights are on almost always. Cruise control does not work 90% of the time. I travel a lot so this is a huge issue for me.

53 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

Brakes: January 2018 the brake warning light flashed and there was an audible telling me to brake when there was nothing in front of me. Brakes: April 2019 the brake warning light flashed on dash and the car started braking when there was nothing in front of me. Brakes: I stepped on the brake pedal and the radio volume changed. Adaptive cruise: may 2019 while traveling with the cruise on, it stopped showing there was a vehicle in front of me, it did not slow my car down as I approached the vehicle in front of me.

54 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

I've reporter to Honda dealer about seat and brake pedal squeaking when pressed several times when my vehicle was under warranty. They always said its normal wear and tear. Car only had 12,000 miles on it at the time. Fast forward to 30k miles, they finally greased the brake pedal and noise went away for another 10k but returned. I was then told its hydrolic brake so it's normal. But I know its not normal to have squeaking noise like that. Moreover, seat squeaking noise has gone worse now. I can literally not take the noise to the point I try not to move at all while driving. I was told this is normal behavior and if I want to replace it it'll cost me $$$$. This should've been covered under warranty and I have few other friends and coworkers with similar issues and they're also being told to deal with it. Adaptive cruise control is ok as long as you don't change the lane or someone in front of you doesn't change the lane. I was going 45mph one night when I had adaptive cruise control turned on. It was seeing the car in front of me and there was a red light coming up. Car in front of me decided to change lane and after that my car failed to recognize the car in front of me stopping for red light. I was at 25mph due to all cars slowing down but as soon as the car front of me changed lane, my car speed accelerated to 45mph and almost hit the car stopped at red light. I slammed the brake so hard to avoid the accident that night. My entire family was freaked out after that and stopped trusting adaptive cruise control.
