1 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2021

2017 Honda crv ex-l awd, purchased new Dec 2017, about 37k miles on it currently. A couple of days ago- on 1/27/2021- I was driving with my family (wife and two toddlers) on highway route 4 westbound in NJ going about 50mph with moderate traffic, when all of a sudden - brake system failure and all error messages appeared on the dashboard. I frantically tried to brake but the brake pedal was stiff and could not be depressed. I tried repeatedly to slam on the brakes cause the car in front of me was approaching fast and thankfully after several attempts the brakes were able to be depressed and I safely pulled over to the nearest strip mall parking lot with all the error messages flashing and brake system illuminated, I took photos and video on my phone and just made sure we were all ok. My wife and I were totally freaked out cause if we weren't able to stop we would definitely have rear ended the approaching vehicle in front of us at 50mph causing an accident. In the parking lot, we turned off the car and back on and the error messages disappeared and I was able to cautiously drive back home. We are very concerned about our safety in this vehicle if this happens again. Error messages have occurred once or twice in the past in inclement weather and a few of the driver assist features were not working due to the weather. But nothing like this has happened before with brake system failure / inability to depress the brake pedal and all errors flashing on the dashboard. If I bring it into the dealership I read online that if they're not able to replicate the errors then it doesn't exist. Please advise. Thank you.

2 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2018

Radio locks up and then indicator lights on dash flash - brake failure, vsa failure, tpms failure, ldw failure, acc failure, lkas failure, cmbs failure. Had it at Honda service two times and they reinstalled software and did a hard reboot. Issue reared its head again Dec 14, took to Honda service with lights flashing for a computer read. Service scheduled for Dec 19 to look into issues and perform recall repair. Check engine light has been on since I took it in Dec 14. Car seems to run fine even with indicator lights flashing. Issue happened first time while on interstate going 70 mph. Secong time on backroad going 45 mph.

3 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 10/26/2018

A situation in which the dashboard lights show multiple system failures including failures of the rdm, cruise control, brakes and cmbs. This has happened twice, including a second time immediately after the dealer "fixed" the problem. The car has beed stopped but idling in both situation. I drove immediately to the dealership the first time and did not even leave the dealership the second time. An indication of a "brake system failure" is disconcerting even though there seems to be no affect on vehicle performance, other than these safety features being rendered inoperable.

4 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2018

Just as we were approaching the 4000ft descent to the valley floor, the instrument panel lit up with multiple warnings, the first being major brake failure. I stepped on the brake which was first soft, then immediately became hard to press down to stop the car. A small turnoff allowed me to get the car off the highway and stopped. Multiple warnings continued across the screen. Shut off the car to restart the computer, then restarted the car. Same messages. Checked exterior of car, tires, oil. All well. Towed to Honda dealership where it was tested for ebb and esb failure, ecu failure. Electronic booster was replaced and the brake system bled. Honda had the car for 7 days. Yesterday we picked up the Cr-v, having been told that it was repaired and ready to go. We drove away, but less than a mile from the dealer/service location, the exact same problem occurred - instrument panel lit up multiple warnings with brake the most emphatic. I was not braking when the warning came, but immediately braked to get off the road. Again the grinding sounds and difficulty pressing hard enough to stop the car. Car is back at the dealer for service. The problem is not fixed and we do not trust any repair at this point. We could have been seriously injured on the mountain highway and are not willing to risk our lives again.

5 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2017

Honda crv 2017 collision system failed, led to brake fail and accident, feel unsafe driving now- on Dec 28th 2017, while driving my 2017 crv, I had to stop at stop sign, I tried to apply brakes but they failed completely as in no response by pressing the brake pedal. The collission mitigation system on Honda malfunctioned and messed with the braking, as a result the brakes failed and I hit the car in front. Now my question is what will Honda do in this case. I am also worried now for future, today I was driving at 10-15 mph in a small street and was alone in the car. What if my entire family was in the car and this happened on a freeway at 70-75 mph. My driver airbag was also deployed due to the collision today. I now feel unsafe driving my Honda crv 2017.

6 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 11/05/2017

Pulling into driveway. . . Foot on brake. . . . Rapid acceleration. . . Brakes failed to stop the vehicle. . . Crashed into brick porch.

7 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2017

Driving my 2017 crv ex home from work. Stopped at red light, foot on brake pedal. When the traffic signal turned green, I took my foot off the brake pedal, and a message came up on the dashboard screen "brake system failure". The engine was still running. I turned onto a side street and tried to depress the brake pedal, but it was frozen and the vehicle would not stop. I pulled into a parking lot and put the vehicle in 'park', and called the dealership where I leased the vehicle. The sales rep suggested I turn off the engine and restart it. I did that and all systems seemed to function properly. I later took my crv back to the dealer, and they did a diagnostic check but found no definitive problem. The technician could only say the computer indicated something had occurred but could say what, or why, or whether it might occur again. The service advisor said they could not find a problem, and everything seemed ok, and "have a nice day!" now I am anxious when I drive wondering if, or when, the brake system might fail again. Is it just my crv, or has this issue been reported by anyone else? this issue, should it occur again while driving in traffic, could result in a serious crash situation.
