Electronic Stability Control problem #1

2 problems, when vehicle is moving, audio display panel glicthes in/out, brightness goes from bright to dim to completely blacked out display without being touched. Glitches out like that for several minutes, completely uncontrollable and cannot use your audio display/radio nothing. While stationary car would not start. When you attempt to start car display says brake problem, and then parking brake problem, no audio display lights up nothing, engine start button blinks red and car goes off completely, smelled gas during this attempt to start car. Jumped started the car took it to local auto parts store to check car battery, battery has more than enough charge. Attached pics and video.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

I was driving to the store I pulled up and parked reached over to get a mask out and the chime went off. So I looked at the dash and found that the display was saying power steering was disable then the vehicle stability control then the tire pressure monitor then the engine then the brakes and it just keeps chiming in displaying each message for all listed above. I restarted the car hoping it would clear the problem but it did not. Hope the warranty covers it and towing.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

All of the lights came on for my vehicle indicating that I have problem in all areas of the car. This is a 2018 Honda crv. This car is 2 years old and the relay module is malfunctioning. This car is too young to be malfunctioning at this point. Because I am at 37,000 miles, Honda is telling me that I am out of warranty of the car and I would be responsible for repairing the relay module which is a major expense. Again this car is too young to be malfunctioning. Honda needs to repair this car or give me my money back.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

On Monday, June 29, 2020, I was driving home from target in college point. I was driving on 20th avenue, a two-way local street, and all of a sudden my car braked. The white van behind me stopped in time to avoid rear-ending me. Stepped on the gas, and the car didn't move, the engine just revved a little. Then all of a sudden the car jerked forward a little, and then began driving again. I made a left-hand turn and pulled over to make sure that nothing was stuck in the wheels, or under the car. There was nothing. I took it to my regular service station, to have them look at the brakes, and they said that there was nothing wrong with the brakes, that they were fine. The technician recommended that I take it to the nearest Honda dealer, and have them check the collision mitigation brake system. The first time I had brake problems was in an accident I was in 9 months after I purchased the vehicle. This incident occurred 8 months after the accident. I am concerned that we will be having braking problems every 8-9 months with the vehicle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

A bunch of sensors including the radar, lane departure, collision detection was stolen from my 2018 Honda crv without the central alarm getting triggered. The black box below the Honda logo was broken, and the sensor/connectors were pulled out. The vehicle was parking in my driveway. Bridgewater NJ police complain #20154646.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

This is the third time in past three weeks. Car starts and and all lights come on blinking on dashboard including brake, brake system, and continue blinking. Blinking lights continue when car is stationary or moving and on gravel road and paved roads. The first trip to local Honda and report was bad battery. Second trip and I was told connector box. This is third time and its weekend and local Honda closed. This is a huge safety concern. The date below is third time date.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

I smell gasoline inside the car after I start the engine. The gasoline smell is not present on initial start up but happens when I run errands which requires many stops. It usually happens when the temperature is below 40 degrees. It is necessary to open windows to ventilate the cabin. I have also lost the sensors three times and my screen has gone black requiring me to reboot. I have talked to technician three times since owning this vehicle and they have had it in the shop twice for diagnostic testing. They are unable to determine the cause. I have gone online and this is a common and known problem with 2017 and 2018 crvs. Why haven't I received a recall notice to have the gas dilution fixed?.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

Vehicle dashboard gave multiple warnings while in motion on the highway; the Honda sensing system no longer functioned at this time. Took to nearby independent mechanic who narrowed malfunction to ecm. Took car to dealer who replaced vsa modulator. After approximately 30 days, vehicle would not start; engine starts but shuts back off immediately. Vehicle was towed to dealer; body control module was replaced.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

Honda 2018 cr v touring awd has steering issues on 3 separate occasion. Sept 2019, oct 2019, Dec 2019 when making a right turn the power steering pulled to the left into the wrong lane & the 3rd time almost into a ditch it took two or us to over ride that. During that 3rd time we also had 4 warnings: acc, lkas, cmbs and rdm. I had amber and red warning lights showing the brake system, lane departure, acc & forward collision warning illuminated on the dash. I pulled over and shut the engine off for 30 mins. Each problem taken into the dealer we could not duplicate, and your VIN # is not on the recall list. I also notified Honda still no answer.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

Was parked in a parking garage and as soon as I started the engine I received 4 warnings: acc, lkas, cmbs and rdm. I had amber warning lights showing the brake system, lane departure, acc & forward collision warning illuminated on the dash. I shut the engine off, waited a second then restarted it. All 4 warnings and warning lights popped up automatically. Was a clear dry day so I knew nothing was blocking sensors so I started my hour drive home thinking they would go away while driving. They never did. When I arrived home I turned the engine off, waited again a few seconds then restarted it to no avail as all lights and warning returned instantly.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

My windows and doors are open and unlocked, including hatchback. Has happened at least 4x's in last two weeks in chicago during holiday season!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

Vehicle was traveling westbound on I-90 in massachusetts in the travel lane at between 65-68 mph. The cruise control was not engaged; the lane keeping assist feature was not active. It was around 7:00 pm. No cars in the passing lane. A tractor trailer was about 200-300 feet in front. The dashboard chimed and displayed the following three warning messages: collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, and lane keeping assist system. The first time each message was displayed a chime sounded; the messages continued to rotate through the display for the next thirty minutes. The messages stopped when we got home and put the car in the garage in park. Additionally, the light for 'brake system' (near the temperature gauge) came on. I brought the car in today for service (it just happened that it was scheduled for an oil change); I told the service advisor about what had happened; the technician working on the vehicle said no codes were being displayed. He took it for a ride but could not get the messages to come up (it only happened one time). The service advisor said it was probably 'just a glitch'.

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

On September 25, 2019, I was approaching an intersection going 25 mph. I applied the brakes to stop at the light, and the car kept moving. We collided with a car coming from the opposite direction, that was turning left. I stepped on the brakes and the car would not stop. We ended up driving over a sidewalk, into a parking lot. The car only stopped when I turned it off.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

We were driving from bridgeport,wv to new jersey on 2/9/19. Four hours into the trip carall the lights on dash board came on and car slowed down and accelerator did not work at that point. Car stopped on the high way. We pulled over called aaa service and Toyota. We took the car in to Honda of turnersville, NJ they fix multiple dtc updated po302 related recall, updated pcm/tcu no more misfire. Car now we are having the same problem again. This week its twice.

Electronic Stability Control problem #15

Second time this car's warning system has activated since having the recalled a/c part replaced. While driving (hwy speeds 65+ mph)the car is losing acceleration ability in traffic and the dash is reading: power steering system problem road departure mitigation system problem electric parking brake problem tire pressure monitor problem emission system problem all wheel drive system problem brake system problem brake hold system problem. The first time the vehicle was brought to the dealer they could not tell what the problem was, but now this is the second occurrence since Feb 2019.

Electronic Stability Control problem #16

Cmbs faulty. It thinks there is n object on an empty road and hard brakes it's very hazardous to drive you never know when it's gonna happen dealer can't find the isssue.

Electronic Stability Control problem #17

The collision avoidance system or whatever it is called suddenly slammed on the brakes when I approached a slight left curve in the road at 35 miles per hour (the posted speed limit). The system has activate at least 3 times before at the same place in the rad and same speed, for no apparent reason other than possibly a sign or tree that is close to the edbe of the road. However this time the braking was so severe it could have caused an accident if a car had been closely following me. I pass this place imultiple times every week for over a year, but the braking problem has only occurred 4 or 5 times.

Electronic Stability Control problem #18

Reoccurring issue of the infotainment screen either freezing or going bazerk while driving. Either nothing works, including the power button to turn the whole display off, or the button works, cuts the display off and the radio continues to play, or the display starts flashing between screens, adjusting the brightness, beeping continuously and sometimes making phone calls all while driving down the road. The only way to get it to stop is to pull off the road and cut the car off. This seems to be an issue with multiple people posting here. . . . . Who knows how many people aren't going thru this process to report. Isn't this distraction while driving dangerous enough to be investigated and provide for a recall. I have a video but don't know how to load it. It has happened multiple times before and after the video I took, but I'll use the date of the video. Hoping that posting to this site will bring some action.

Electronic Stability Control problem #19

While I was driving today the car system got jammed. I got a message brake system failed and I was not able to apply brakes. The brake pedal is hard to press. Then the tire pressure monitor, vehicle stability system, lane assist shows failed message. Luckily no one is in front of me so I was able to turn off the engine and steer the vehicle to side. I was on local road with my family and luckily no one got hurt. I reported this incident to Honda customer service and they asked me to contact local dealership to evaluate and report says an issue with failure electronic braking system.

Electronic Stability Control problem #20

Brand new all wheel drive 2018 vehicle. It could not stop on snow road near 20mph even lower speed couple times! two times slipped over the traffic lights due to could not stop! scared to death!!!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #21

I bought a 2018 Honda Cr-v (1. 5l turbo engine) in August. It only has 1700 miles, but so far it has stalled on me 3 times (while driving). The first 2 times, I was under 25 mph and it started stalling. Several lights were flashing on the dashboard cautioning engine failure, brake failure, tire pressure failure, etc. The car was making pinging noises while these lights were flashing and it wouldn't drive any longer. I had no choice but to pull over to the side of the road and wait for a tow truck to take me to the dealership. The 3rd time this happened, I was going almost 40mph and it stalled again (same as before). The car was also shaking and stuttering while simply sitting idle. Honda said that the crank shaft sensor (cpk) was defective and replaced it. . . However, that did not fix the problem. When I asked Honda if this stalling issue was related to articles describing the ongoing problems with this make/model (in recent years), they refused to acknowledge it and said they couldn't comment because it wasn't a "Honda article". I'm sure I'm not the only customer that has come to the dealership with this problem. . . Yet, they refuse to address that it's a serious problem. They also have not declared a recall. This is a serious life-threatening safety hazard. When the car stalled, I wasn't on the expressway, but on local roads; however, I don't feel safe driving this car anymore. I have no idea when it's going to stall again. Honda has given no assurances that they know what the problem is or can even fix it.

Electronic Stability Control problem #22

Purchased the 2018 Honda Cr-v ex-l new from pearson Honda, midlothian va. 23112. Shortly after the purchase I noticed the odor of gas inside the vehicle. During December 2018, I called the dealer complaining that there was a strong odor of gas in the engine oil. I was advised to bring the vehicle in and they offered to change the oil free of charge. I researched on the internet and discovered that Honda knew about this engine defect during 2017 and still installed the defected engines in the 2018 Cr-v. Honda has issued a recall to correct the problem, but not for vehicles registered in va. I contacted the dealer and was advised to keep bringing in the vehicle after a short period of time for additional free oil changes. This is not acceptable and any assistance from you will be greatly appreciated. Second issue: while traveling on the interstate at speeds over 50mph without warning the vehicle would brake very hard, usually as a second vehicle is being over taken in the right lane. I reported this situation to the dealer and was advised the sensors are just very sensitive. This is a sporadic problem.

Electronic Stability Control problem #23

The cruise control is hypervariable - when combined with a lane warning system, it dropped us out of cruise (at 70mph) when passing a large truck in the right lane. Very unsafe to be all of a sudden in the left lane slowing down when we we trying to speed past the 18-wheeler. Dealer said the 'sensitivity' of the lane warning system 'caught the truck creeping close' to the line -- we didn't see that at all. Also, the lane warning system is quite intermittent - only about 2 out of 5 times does the right hand warning signal something (like drifting near a shoulder) as designed.

Electronic Stability Control problem #24

I purchased my first Honda cr-b 2018 at the end of sept. 2018 and today is Nov 4, 2018 and this car has been out of order for @4 weeks. The cruise control system, lane departure system, vehicle distant control system, and the brake system lights are all lit up and flashing. None of the systems that are supposed to aid in driving safety is working. The systems stopped working while driving. Two trips to two different dealerships and the issue has not been resolved. I will make a third trip on the next business day.

Electronic Stability Control problem #25

Car stalls when going up parking ramp, car dies at intersection, car does not sence objects when in reverse, a blue line appears when raining and I reverse obstruction view, electronics freeze and unable to use touch screen. . . Usually happens when raining creating a safety hazard. Brakes failed (pedal froze) in reverse. Salesman said to let it happen several more times before making a service appointment. The car has been a problem ever since I got it earlier this year. . . There is only 4,000 miles on it and so far, they changed the battery. . . Explanation I was given is that Honda has bad batteries. This after changing oil one week prior and service report indicated good battery. One week after servicing, the car died and had to be towed. The service people at Honda said it was all due to a bad battery. Brakes failed due to bad battery???? still having problems, car is stalling, panel freezes, sensors don't work. . . Salesman said no loaners available and if you wanted a loaner when you service car, should have bought a Lexus or BMW. This after I described all the problems. Really unhappy with this car. I believe it's a major safety issue. . Brakes failed, panel freezes, car stalls. . . Help!!!!! note this happened as recently as 10/5/18 but really it happened several times since I've had this car. I had it towed once when a light flashed, "brake failure" and I was unable to start the car. The battery was changed - this was in August of 2018.

Electronic Stability Control problem #26

Honda's sensing system randomly displays invalid warning messages. This is the radar/camera system that monitors cars speed, braking, distances, cruise control, etc. This is a random issue that occurs when driving at highway speeds (45 to 65mph). Warning lights come on stating problems with brakes, speed controls, etc. The main safety concern is that system tells you that you have a problem with your brakes, and you have no way of know if this is true or not. You are forced to pull over in traffic and understand if there is a problem or not. I understand that if it is snowing, heavy rain, heavy dust, or the sensors are blocked in any way, a warning light will come on. The safety concern is that the warnings come on randomly on a sunny or cloudy dry day where there should be nothing that sets the sensors off. To correct the problem, you must stop the car, place it in park and then the alarms clear. This system is not reliable and can not be trusted, plus has not been able to be repaired by the dealer, and per Honda information, could randomly stop the car when there is not real problem (I. E. Set the brakes as I am driving down the road at highway speeds for no reason). False warning lights distract the driver and could lead to a collision while driving or on the side of the road trying to determine if there is truly a problem with the vehicle. Should system stop the car for no reason, it could cause a collision. This continues to occur with this vehicle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #27

While driving Monday, 08/27/18, my car abruptly applied the braking system. I was going about 35 mph in town driving, not the freeway. There was a car in front of me about 4 or so car lengths. There were cars to my right and the rear but none were so close that I was in danger of hitting them nor they hitting me. There was no audible or visual warning on the dash. There may have been some resistance with the steering but unsure at this time. I've looked on-line and noticed this has happened to other drivers and there is no fix. I purchased my car from Honda cars of mckinney and went to speak to service dept on 8/30/18, to see what remedy they can suggest. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #28

The day after we bought a brand new 2018 Honda crv, I was driving down the highway using adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance and lane departure mitigation the vehicle started braking and the gas pedal did not work and then all the warnings went across the dashboard for example: brake system problem, tire pressure monitor problem, park warning, adaptive cruise control warning, road departure mitigation problem, hill start assist warning to name a few. We have taken the car to the dealer 3 times now. The technicians have tried several resets but every time we get the car back it happens again.

Electronic Stability Control problem #29

We had a horrible situation last night when we were driving on the highway. Our Honda crv 2018 exl which is not even 2 weeks old, brand new, started shaking and wobbling and stopped in the mid road. All the safety systems failed and there were warnings on the dashboard, brake system problem, all wheel drive system problem, tire pressure monitor problem, electric parking brake problem, road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation system problem, lane keeping assist problem, adaptive cruise control problem, hill start assist problem, vehicle stability assist problem, anti lock brake system problem, power steering system problem, you name it. Everything went wrong. We had a baby in the car seat behind and could have ended up in an accident. All the safety features failed. Honda doesnt have an answer for it. Very unsafe to drive this car in the highway if it suddenly stops and what if we get hit by car or truck behind us. Honda has no solution.
