This is the 3d time multiple sensor warnings have appeared: tpms/acc/brake/downhill assist/lane departure/etc. . Warnings. The dealer (brandon hinda) just resets codes with no reason for recurring problem. Reserach shows many have similar problems reported to hinda and there is a class action lawsuit pending alleging 2016-2019 Honda Cr-v safety systems are defective; filed in us district court for the central district of California; ward, et al. , vs. American Honda motor CO. , inc. Et al. Vehicle was stationary when problem noticed.
I was driving 40mph on a city street it was a sunny 83 degree day with no one in front of me when my crv slammed on the brakes by itself. The speedometer turned orange and said "brake". The collision mitigation braking system falsely detected something in front of me when there was nothing. We jerked to a stop, the vehicle behind almost hitting us. My son, dog, and I were extremely scared. I brought my vehicle into my Honda dealership and they said the sensor was a little off but they could not find any other reason that the cmbs would malfunction? I've read online that this has been a huge issue with 2017 and 2018 Honda crv's equipped with this feature and Honda has not done a recall but there is a class action lawsuit out of California.
A bunch of sensors including the radar, lane departure, collision detection was stolen from my 2018 Honda crv without the central alarm getting triggered. The black box below the Honda logo was broken, and the sensor/connectors were pulled out. The vehicle was parking in my driveway. Bridgewater NJ police complain #20154646.
On two occasions, the car has unexpectedly and without any reason, braked to a virtual stop, as though there were a vehicle directly in front of me, while driving in the city on a road going about 40mph. However, there were no cars anywhere near my vehicle. In addition, my car will also unexpectedly beep and signal to me that I must brake, again, without a car being in front of me, again, while in motion at approximately 35mph. The Honda dealer claims they have looked into my complaints, which I see as potentially life threatening, particularly if the car brakes on a fast moving interstate, and they are "unable to replicate the issue or find any sensor issues. " the fact that this vehicle is operating correctly is patently untrue and the occurances regarding the sensor "brake" messaging is becoming more and more frequent.
Lane departure and collision control often engage without cause. Twice I have been driving and the lane departure sensors go off and vehicle automatically brakes for no obvious reason. It appears that it may be falsely reading shadows or wet roadways. One incident was on a city street at about 40 mph. The other was on the interstate at around 70 mph.
I was driving to work on dry roads with light traffic due to it being spring break in atlanta. I was driving at 48 mph and suddenly it was as if someone had stomped on the brakes hard. The car slowed very quickly to 30 mph. A car that was following me at similar speed had to swerve to avoid running into the back of me. There was no car in front of me that could have triggered a breaking response and I did not deviate from my lane either. This was a completely random event. 10 minutes later as I got closer to work the lane diversion warning came on, again with me being rocky steady in my lane. I think the sensors may have been reading any whites lines in the road, like a crosswalk or white lane turn arrow.
The brakes failed when in reverse. The reverse sensors do not detect movement, the car does at intersections. A blue vertical line appears when the car is in reverse. The panel freezes. . . All this happened when the car was in motion.
