Engine Oil Leaking problems of the 2018 Honda CR-V

Gas leaks into the engine while I'm driving, which will inevitably engine failure and the car will stall while driving, this poses a risk for motor vehicle collision. . The Honda dealer where I purchased the vehicle is aware of this and recommended an oil change. 48 hours later my oil is completely diluted with gasoline again. There is a strong gas odor in the cabin of my car which is a health hazard to myself and my 2 small children, one with asthma. I've contacted Honda of America several times regarding this issue with no solution.

Gasoline is leaking into the engine oil. A warranty repair was done Jan 2019 to resolve the problem but in sept 2019 the engine oil was noted to be above full and smell of gasoline. The car was brought in for further repair but no further repair is available and because Honda claims this to be "a normal characteristic" of the car, no oil change was done either. However, the Honda 2018 Cr-v manual clearly points out that over filling the oil may lead to leaks or engine damage. Copies of the repair receipt and Honda oil overfill warning are attached.

This is about my 2018 Honda Cr-v ex with around 14,700 miles at present. My whole family and a friend went to yakima,wa for cherry picking. On our way there from seattle,wa while driving using adaptive cruise control (acc) and lane keeping assist system (lakas) suddenly a warning from the screen appeared that says. . . "power reduced - power grille problem" and then we can not accelerate the speed. Luckily we made it to the shoulder of the highway for emergency park and wait for 5 to 10 minutes until the warning goes out from the screen. When it goes out we start the engine and start driving again and after 7 to 10 minutes the warning goes on again ,stop and goes again for the third time and we decided to turn off the acc and lkas and drive in a lower speed 60 to 65 mph in a 70 mph speed limit zone. The next morning I checked the engine oil fill compartment and the engine oil dipstick and found out they have a strong gasoline smell. Gasoline leaks to the engine oil compartment. When I checked the dipstick , the oil is dripping like water with blackish color because of the gasoline mixed to the oil. I reported it to the dealership for service and told me not to drive the car going to them instead the towing company (aaa) do the job to take it to the dealership. And the day when I picked up the car they told me that the gasoline I smell from the compartment is normal due to combustion. I asked them to check the engine oil dipstick to prove to them that it smells gasoline and dripping like water with blackish color (this is a newly changed pure synthetic engine oil /90% remaining). They did not check the dipstick and told me they can do nothing about it and told me to it's normal. They said it's safe to drive my car. I'm just hoping this problem be resolved very soon.

My vehicle only have 6100 miles on it.

Takata recall the oil level in my Honda extremely raised higher the max. Bar, and it smells gas. I'm scared to drive my car on highway becaus I don't know what can happen if the oil will leak or the car will just suddenly stope. Please address this issues to Honda. Thank you.

The contact stated that the dipstick showed that the oil was above the full mark. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to call the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 10,864.

The dealer serviced the manufacturer campaign, which was not a manufacturer recall, but the remedy failed to provide a permanent repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and provided a case number. The manufacturer had not issued any fuel system or engine recalls. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 11,800.

Gas is leaking into the oil system thus overfilling it. I have checked my vehicles oil (less than 500 miles on my car) and the oil line was way passed full. This overfilling can cause premature damage to the engine, which according to experts can cause stalling at random times which poses an immediate threat to the driver and other vehicles on the road. The dealership from which I bought my vehicle did not inform me of this issue even though they know that it is a pressing issue. Hence the reason the 2019 Cr-v's have not yet been released.

The engine does not get warmed up fast enough. The engine operates too cold even after driving about a mile distance. Another major issue is that the engine oil is leaking out. Leaked oil is observed under the engine where the transmission and the engine join. The dealers in us would not fix these issues or do not even have a fix for them although it is major issues for many 9th gen Cr-vs.

Changed oil at 5000 miles. Oil level was over seven quarts after drained. Is only supposed to have 3. 7 quarts. Notified dealer of condition. Fuel is leaking into oil pan.

Purchased new 2018 Honda Cr-v awd December 2017 from dealer in orlando FL. Within first few months of ownership had multiple occasions where "gas/fuel" smell filled the cabin of car while driving. It was brought to my attention by a friend (late summer) that there appears to be issue with the 1. 5 l earthdreams Honda engine. Area of issue is oil dilution by fuel "leaking" into it & mixing. I then began researching this issue and was quite surprised to find that Honda had already recalled a huge number of vehicles in china with this oil dilution issue on this specific engine. When I called my Honda dealer to ask about issue/repair, I was told by service advisor that they were not aware of any issue of this type and there were no active recalls/tsbs regarding issue. Wow? that's when my concern level rose, as on the dealer level there seems to be complete denial/admittance of any problem. Other Honda owners of vehicles with this engine have experienced "gas odor" in cabin, poor performance and even stalling of engine while driving vehicle. I have not had a stalling issue (yet) - but I drive vehicle frequently in moderate /heavy traffic areas and can't imagine the danger that could result from my car "stalling" while I'm driving(or my wife or daughter). Another "check" to verify if my car has this issue is to examine oil level on dipstick. When my oil level is checked, the level tends to read high (even above full line on dipstick) and dipstick has strong smell of gasoline. Not good as it signals fuel is making it's way into my engine oil. Once fuel mixes with the oil it will break down the viscosity and engine will "wear our prematurely" or lead to failure. As of today (11/14/18) my car is not stalling out (about 15k miles on it) but my concern for safety is rising as Honda seems to be dragging their feet regarding admitting and fixing this dangerous issue.

Results of fuel leaking into engine oil . Had engine oil analyzed at 3370 miles. It had fuel dilution of >8%. Acceptable is no higher than 2. 5%. Slight gas smell in cabin. Dipstick smelled of gas and oil level was higher than full level. This will damage engine. I was stopped at railroad crossing and heard a boom and car shook. Unable to get statement from Honda or dealer if car safe to drive.

2018 crv-exl purchased on 9/3/18, our 5th Honda (3rd crv), currently at 620 miles. We've always been impressed with the reliability of Honda vehicles, until recently. Last Friday (10/8/18), cnn news reported on a consumer reports (cr) article regarding the crv 2018 engine problems, involving fuel mixing w/ engine oil. Apparently, there's an issue regarding gas mixing w/ oil in 2017 & 2018 Honda crvs with 1. 5-liter engines, possibly causing stalling and engine damage. Numerous cr and NHTSA complaints involved stalling, loss of power, and smell of gas in the passenger cabin. Honda is working on a fix next month. Owners are advised to check the oil level on their crvs as it will be higher and less viscous if mixed w/ gas. We checked our crv's oil last night and noticed the strong smell of gas on the dipstick. Brought the crv this morning to our Honda dealership. Service rep reported that their test revealed no gas mixed w/ the oil and that the smell is from a special oil additive that Honda uses in new vehicles. We were advised to bring the crv back for an oil change at 1500 miles. Rep was not aware of the cr & NHTSA complaints on gas leaking into the engine oil, until we told him. We agreed to bring the crv back for the oil change. Called Honda to confirm the fix in November and mentioned our visit to the dealership. Customer rep insisted that Honda does not put any oil additive in the new crvs and that I was miss-informed by the service rep. I was referred to the crv manual on page 572, stating that oil additives may adversely affect the engine performance and durability. I was assured that Honda engineers are working on the fix for the problem. I was directed to take my crv to another dealership for a 2nd opinion and oil analysis. We're in the �wait and see� mode until the fix is deployed next month.

There is gasoline leaking into my oil. There is over 1 quart of oil in my 4 quart oil pan. The oil level on the dip stick is 1/2" higher than the maximum level on the dipstick and the oil reeks of gasoline. Honda has tried, but failed to fix this. I can smell the gas in the cabin and when it is parked in the garage. I contacted a major oil company if the ratio of gas to oil would cause a problem and he said it was "alarming" I am concerned about the odor of gas, specifically the benzene which is present in gasoline. I am concerned about a possible fire too. We have had the dealer change the oil two times now even though the vehicle is almost brand new and was not supposed to have it's first oil change until 10k miles on it.

I purchased the vehicle with 16 miles on it; I bought it brand new. It leaked oil and transmission fluid all over my garage and while driving the car. I had a significant oil and transmission leak. Had to to tow the car to be repaired. The same issue happened again where it dumped all the oil out of the engine, and they had to fix it for a second time. They informed me there wasn't any oil left in my engine and this was right after an oil change. They said this never happens, but it did twice. My 36,000-mile warranty is almost up, and I have a feeling this is an ongoing issue. Last time it leaked, it took them three months to fix it. I paid a lot of money when I bought my first new car ever. It's a shame I bought a lemon, and I'm paying monthly for it. This issue needs to be addressed because my car start light always blinks on and off also, and they can't figure it out. Also, my touchscreen has frozen and let the radio on full blast while I was driving and wouldn't shut off on more than one occasion.

Now the oil dip stick level is one inch above the 'max fill dot'. The owners manual states 'do not fill the engine oil above the upper mark. ' 'over flling the engine oil can result in leaks and engine damage. '.
