When driving about 25 mph, the dashboard lit up with "brake", gave a warning sound then the brakes applied automatically very hard. There was nothing in front of me that I needed to brake for. It was frightening for me and the front side passenger that this happened without warning, and we both lurched forward. Luckily we both had seatbelts on. I called the dealer and they said I need to have the sensors adjusted. I declined in that the car is out of the 3 year warranty (only 33k miles) by 2 mos and I would have to pay to have this "safety feature" fixed. I can't figure out how to turn this "feature" off permanently but can push a button upon each start up to turn it off. Disappointed in Honda that they don't address this.
This has happened several times in my vehicle now. On city streets I have had the collision avoidance system activate when there is no obstruction whatever. I was traveling 35-40 mph once and the system slammed the brakes on with with little or no warning. There was no obstruction ahead and the car behind me nearly rear ended my vehicle. This has literally made me scared to drive my vehicle as it seems to be totally random as where and when it may occur. I sometime get the brake light and audible notification, but again this comes on with no obstruction ahead of me including other cars.
The contact called on behalf of his sister who owns a 2018 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while his sister was driving 50 mph, the vehicle stopped inadvertently with the brake warning light illuminated. The contact believed that the forward collision sensor failed since there were no other vehicles in close proximity at the time of the failure. The contact called floyd traylor Honda service & sales (3200 s zero st, fort smith, ar 72908, (479) 434-5975) and frank fletcher Honda (2921 moberly ln, bentonville, ar 72712, (479) 715-8622) and was informed to have the vehicle taken in to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 51,500. The VIN was not available.
When I star on and drive, the yellow warning stay on , red brake light blink, all computer safety system malfuncion , electric brakes, tires pressure, collision, a. C , power stering, etc. Car drive but feel lighs the brake is on. This is a dangerus trash car. Brakes problem "the main safety divice for recall. ".
I was driving 40mph up beach blvd. No traffic immediately near me. The forward collision avoidance system beeped and flashed brake brake brake. Without cause the car stopped suddenly. This is the second reported incident with this same car in less than a year. I immediately called Honda dealership. No recalls or probable cause. After last incident, there were some new updates installed on the car. Told I would never have any more issues - a freak occurrence. My fear is that it will happen again with a semi behind me. This safety feature may very well be deadly.
Intermittingly all malfunction lights in dash display malfunctions, battery drains abnormally, sunroof opens without warning, and windows open. Charged battery and malfunction lights went off for a week; however, after driving periodically all warning lights came back on. Checked and it had partially drained. Have taken to the Honda dealer and no codes displayed issues with the electrical system.
Issues started in 2018 when it was bought. Before the first oil change dipstick oil level keep going 1 inch over the max level. Exhaust smells gas. Dealership said it’s nothing. Keeps happening over and over. Dealership made a recall fix but fix didn’t help. One day while on a trip, suddenly all lights warning display come on the dash, engine lost power, had to make emergency roadside stop. After a while of sputtering, car run ok until I got into a gas station and bought chevron techron. Engine running good enough to travel. Warning lights still going off all the time. Went to dealership, they said it was bad fuel and told me to use premium. The warning light came off. Fuel level still go 1 over dipstick max line and exhaust smell gas. Dealership it’s not a fuel dilution issue. Warning light ssues linger on and off and too much oil in the dipstick and gas smelling issues never got. Resolved. Last year I was told I need the fuel injectors changed but was told self pay as not covered by warranty. I argued that it should be covered as issues started on my first oil change. Dealership said they’ll order new injectors but it’s not changed up to now. Yesterday car lost power again, all dash warning light are on . I wrote Honda USA a year ago but didn’t get a reply.
