1 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2025

The steering wheel sticks when beginning to turn it. Occurs at all speeds and seems to be more prevalent at warmer temperatures.

2 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2025

On highway, engaged cruise control at 70 mph. Engine light came on, simultaneously with loss of power (pressing on gas pedal did nothing) and apple carplay disconnect. We were near an exit and managed to drift off, at lower off-ramp speed engine again could respond to accelerator however was chugging very badly. Went to nearby oil change place. Mechanic there advised going straight to dealer a short distance further. Drove on to the Honda dealer, car still chugging and stopped the car until I could talk to the service person. When the car restarted it was no longer chugging. Service person diagnosed the following and said I basically needed a new engine: tech scanned vehicle and found codes p0300 random cyl misfire, p0302 cyl 2 misfire. Tech checked live data and had very little misfire coming from cyl 3, pulled all coils and plugs and found cyl 2 and 4 had the injectors still spraying with the vehicle off indicating failure of the injectors in those 2 cylinders, in cylinder 3 tech found excessive oil burning on the piston, indicating oil leaking into the combustion chamber of the motor.

3 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2024

My vehicle lost brakes as I was driving. The dealer stated it was because of wiring problem but I read where crv were having a problem with the accident mitigation system. They replaced my wiring harnes to my rear view mirror. The dealer couldn't explain why I lost power to my brakes.

4 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2024

Steering is very noisy hard to drive lane departure comes on and makes car drive out of lane of traffic then brake assist kicks in and stands me on my head I have taken to dealership they can’t get the car to do it they tell me turn off all the features and drive it I feel very unsafe in it I want the problems fixed or I will call my attorney.

5 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2023

Took my Honda crv 2021 ex in because all of my warning lights (critical failure) were going off as I was driving. All safety features were failing including awd control, braking, sensors, cruise control, etc. They replaced the battery and tested the alternator. They reset the system and said it was fixed. I picked mine up today, drove it for 10 mins on the highway and then hit the "main" button on the stearing wheel to turn on the cruise control. As soon as I did that, all of the warning lights came on at the same time and the systems started to fail again. This is a hazard and could cause an accident at any moment. In reviewing the Honda forums, this is a massive problem with hundreds of Honda crv ex 2020-2022 models. I'm 7000 miles over my warrant and Honda won't look at it. However, it is directly their problem and my car is only 2 years old.

6 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2023

The front windshield camera was deemed it had faulty parts by the dealer and the car is less than two years old.

7 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2021

Nothing has happened yet. I want it on record that the implementation of this feature is dangerous. On p. 497 of the 2021 Cr-v hybrid's owner's manual is the following warning: "exiting a vehicle that has been stopped while the acc with low speed follow system is operating can result in the vehicle moving withoug operator control. A vehicle that moves without operator control can cause a crash, resulting in serious injury or death. Never exit a vehicle when the vehicle is stopped by acc with low speed follow. " the way this feature is implemented, the following scenario is possible: I'm driving in heavy traffic that stops for a long time. I absent-mindedly forget that the Cr-v is still in acc mode and get out of the car to see if I can see what is causing the delay. While away from the car, traffic starts to move, and before I can get back in it, the Cr-v drives away. Were there a child in the car or an adult who didn't drive, there could easily be multiple deaths caused by a driverless vehicle speeding up to the current acc setting (which could be a freeway-appropriate speed). Just off-hand I can think of multiple ways to prevent such a scenario, each of which takes advantage of existing systems: the acc could--and should--automatically disengage and the transmission go into park 1) when a door is opened; 2) when the driver's weight leaves the seat; 3) when the driver's seatbelt is unfastened. It should not be possible for a vehicle to drive away without a driver, and this possibility could--and should--be easily prevented.

8 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2021

The contact owns a 2021 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently downshift without warning. The contact also stated that the failure would occur while the cruise control was activated. In addition, the contact also stated that the lane keep assist would fail to differentiate between road salt and line marking on the roadway, resulting in inadvertent sudden downshifting. The contact's husband had taken the vehicle to a dealer where their concerns were ignored and no diagnostic test was performed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100.
