I was pulling in (slowly, forward, to the right) into a parking space when my 2026 crv sport hybrid seemed to accelerate and jolt forward. I was not accelerating. My foot was on the brake pedal, coming to a slow stop. I had to slam on the break to avoid hitting another parked vehicle. This incident left me extremely frightened and very concerned about the safety of the vehicle. Prior to this, there were no warning lamps, messages, or anything to make me think that something might be wrong with my car. We will be taking it into the dealership for a full electronic diagnostic scan. I don't feel safe driving this vehicle until this is addressed and corrected. (another issue we had with this vehicle, a few months back, was the infotainment system suddenly giving off a high-pitched, unbearably loud sound when I started the car. The volume could not be lowered, nothing seemed to make it stop, not even restarting the car. Ultimately, I was able to reboot the entire system, and that seemed to resolve it. I'm often anxious when I start the car, wondering if this is going to occur again, it was so jarring. ).
10/05/2026 I was pulling into a parking spot when the car accelerated suddenly like I floored it. I did brake, but not until I hit a chain fence. Fortunately I was not injured and only my car was involved. The car had been taken to a repair shop. I am worried that this could happen again. I have reported this to Honda. I see that others have reported this as well, but no recall has been listed.
2026 Honda crv hybrid sport touring loses power and stumbles periodically when making a left hand turn. Has happened three times in the first 2300 miles. Occurred when making 90 degree left turn from stop or slow roll. Brought it to the dealer on 9/26/26. Honda turnersville NJ. They say they can not reproduce the issue and they are not showing any fault codes, other than the radio.
Recurring, intermittent fuel smell inside the vehicle, even with the air on recirculate. Seems to occur when on very hot days when the vehicle has been running a lot. The dealership found a soaked evap canister, replaced the fuel tank and evap canister, and the symptoms returned after about one week with a fuel smell entering the cabin. The fumes cause migraines and are unacceptable for a new car.
My wife and I leased this 2026 crv on xxx. Six days old, with approx 89 miles on it. We were heading to [xxx] from [xxx] on [xxx] when there was a engine noise, then a loud pop, my wife said it was smoking and no oil pressure came across the instrument panel, immediately after that message the screen turned red saying to turn vehicle off immediately. We were on a corner on the interstate right at xxx exit, we coasted to shoulder, there was flames coming up from hood cowl between windshield wipers/hood/ windshield while we were still in the vehicle. We were able to exit the vehicle and get to a safe distance and I called [xxx]. [xxx] fire department responded to put out the fire, as well as montana highway patrol to make a report. The Honda dealer we leased from sent us a replacement vehicle, they also had the towing company haul the car to there lot, and the payed the wrecker bill. We initially called our insurance to let them know about the fire, and that the car was a total loss. But we thought it would be best to talk to corporate Honda before we filed a claim. It took Honda about a week to respond, they said we have to turn it into our insurance. We finalized our insurance claim xxx. Safety justification:this un-commanded rollback presents a severe, systemic safety hazard. Dashboard displayed warning: 'emissions system problem — power may be reduced — see your dealer. ' I had to immediately get off the highway and very slowly drive back home and then took it to the dealer as soon as their service dept. Opened after that. Vehicle subsequently diagnosed at david mcdavid Honda irving with fuel injector failure requiring complete replacement under warranty. Highway power loss on a brand new vehicle at 300+ miles represents a serious safety hazard. Vehicle has been at dealer since may 26, 2026 for warranty repairs and even after 9 days they have not been able to resolve the issue and I am still waiting to pick up my car. The contact owns a 2026 Honda Cr-v. The stated that when driving the vehicle, it unexpectedly stalled. No warning lights illuminated. The dealer was contacted however the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 400.
To whom it may concern, I am submitting this complaint to report serious and potentially life-threatening safety defects involving my Honda vehicle. 1. Intermittent failure of crash avoidance / collision mitigation system the vehicle’s anti-collision/crash-avoidance system has stopped functioning intermittently and without warning. This system is intended to provide critical safety protection, and its unpredictable failure significantly increases the risk of a collision. There is no consistent pattern or driver action that explains the system disengaging, which makes the defect especially dangerous. 2. Sudden and unexplained sunroof explosion while driving while driving at normal highway speed, the sunroof glass suddenly exploded outward without any impact from debris, other vehicles, or road hazards. There was no prior warning. Glass shattered violently, creating an immediate safety emergency that could have resulted in serious injury or loss of vehicle control. This incident was extremely frightening and posed a serious risk to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. Based on my research, similar incidents involving spontaneous sunroof shattering have been reported by other drivers, suggesting a possible systemic defect rather than an isolated incident. I believe these defects represent an unreasonable risk to public safety and warrant investigation. I respectfully request that the national highway traffic safety administration review this matter and take appropriate action to ensure driver and passenger safety. This is a new vehicle with around 800 miles purchased in early December, 2025. I started the vehicle and let it warm up at least 10 minutes. I was able to drive to my destination around 5 miles from home. 20 minutes later when I planned to drive home, many dashboard lights came on with some flashing and one beeping. Vehicle started but was cold and limp. Would not accelerate beyond around 20 mph. Had to drive home with flashers on. Based on reading, it may be caused by an inadequate 12v battery. Have service appt at Honda dealer on 1/26/2026. Talked to wilde Honda service dept. Staff immediately after incident, and they mentioned that they had recently seen other crv hybrid vehicles with multiple warning lights. I scheduled a service appt for 1/26/2026 but am concerned about driving safely to dealership.
During a cold spell in my city my brand new Honda crv hybrid had difficulty starting and major warning signal appeared on the dash. We took it to the dealer of purchase but they are giving us difficulties replacing the low voltage battery that doesn't work in this climate! when looked up reviews on this car the websites of poor battery performance in cold weather areas are numerous.
