I own a new 2025 Honda Cr-v purchased from Honda of concord (hendrick automotive group, concord, nc). At around 220 miles, the vehicle’s dashboard displayed major safety warnings: “collision mitigation braking system problem” and “adaptive cruise control system problem. ” soon after, a very strong burning smell—similar to fire or overheated brakes—came from the vehicle. When I brought it to Honda of concord, the service advisor (ashley petisce) initially refused to accept or log my safety complaint. She only agreed to inspect the car after I stated that I would hold Honda and the dealership responsible if an accident occurred. Later that day, she also told me the burning smell was normal and would “go away after driving more,” which was alarming given the severity of the odor. After finally inspecting the car, the dealership found that both front rotors, pads, and calipers were defective and required replacement on this brand-new vehicle. When I requested that all related safety sensors (acc, cmbs, radar, and cameras) be checked after the brake repair, the same advisor said she would “only check what policy allows,” meaning only the brakes, and no further sensor or system testing would be done. This raises serious safety concerns. The initial refusal to inspect could have resulted in brake failure or fire. The defective brake components indicate a potential manufacturing defect, and the disabled safety systems create an immediate crash-risk condition. The dealership’s refusal to confirm sensor functionality after the repair leaves the vehicle’s safety systems unverified. I request that NHTSA investigate whether other 2025 Honda Cr-v vehicles have similar brake or sensor defects and whether Honda’s dealer network is properly following safety-reporting procedures.

I had adaptive cruise turned on and set to 36 mph, a vehicle which was a good distance in front of of me turned left across the oncoming lane and into a parking lot. Even though the car that made the turn was already in the parking lot the car slammed on the brakes. I have the entire incident in video. Of course this problem also exists and is even more dangerous at high speeds. I have complained to Honda USA three times and NHTSA once a few months ago and no response. My daughter who has the same vehicle also experiences these issues. Someone is going to get seriously injured . I’ve had cars behind me almost cause a wreck on the highway because of the slamming on brakes issue . Please advise where I can send the rascal video. It’s a matter of life and death.

While the adaptive cruise control is on for no reason the car breaks giving risk of being hit from behind. While driving down the road the brake light just comes on to say brake brake and there is no one in front or on the side of us. This has happened multiple times and I have owned the car for 4 years.

I am reporting a severe safety defect involving the engine and fuel injector system that began two months ago at ?108k miles (now 109k miles). I have not yet taken the vehicle in for service due to the estimated high repair cost of $2,900. It is critical to note that the same underlying problem was subject to a safety recall for the 2017-2018 model years, but the defect was not fixed for my 2019 model year. This indicates a persistent manufacturing or design flaw that warrants an immediate investigation into my model year. The defect manifests regularly, causing a cylinder 2 misfire (p0302) and making the engine run very rough with a sudden and severe loss of power. This creates a direct rear-end crash risk due to the inability to maintain a safe operating speed. More dangerously, when the misfire occurs, the vehicle instantly disables critical driver assistance systems—adaptive cruise control (acc) and lane keep assist (lkas)—without any advanced warning. This malfunction is an unreasonable safety risk: crash hazard: the unprompted power loss and concurrent disabling of safety features create an immediate, dangerous situation. Fire hazard: the persistent misfire strongly suggests a failed or stuck-open fuel injector, which causes fuel dilution of the engine oil. This contamination can lead to engine failure or, critically, a fuel leak onto hot engine components that poses an extreme fire risk. I urge NHTSA to investigate why this defect persists and to mandate a comprehensive recall to protect the public from this ongoing, life-threatening safety risk. The failed component may be available for inspection upon request.

I just filled a report but on October 3rd @ 3:34pm the same thing happened where while in cruise control the car just brakes and there was no reason for that to happen.

My car's steering wheel started making a noise when turning at around 2,000 miles per hour, and the steering wheel became very heavy when turning. I took it to the Honda service center twice. The first time, they told me there was nothing wrong with the car. The second time, they fixed the noise, but the heavy steering problem remained. When I drive at around 25/35 mph in a 25-35 mph zone, the steering wheel becomes very heavy, and it becomes extremely heavy above 50 mph. The Honda service center can't solve the problem, but I'm very worried about the possibility of an accident.

After vehicle was shut down for about 5 to 10 minutes while in a store, all lights on the dashboard came on with warnings that most all safety related systems had "problems" (tire monitoring system, emissions system, brake system, brake hold, power steering , variable steering assist problem, hill start assist, adaptative cruise control, collision mitigation, road departure) vehicle would otherwise run fine and could be driven home. Emergency brake still seems to operate. This has happened twice in the last six months and renders the vehicle less safe to operate without these systems fully functional.

I have 2 issues with my car - the first one has been ongoing and I should have reported it sooner - when using cruise my car will sometimes brake for no reason, it's as if the car sees something that's not there. The second one just occurred and has only happened once. I was driving on the highway using cruise and I got a message on the dash that said something like cruise control disengaged - the cruise turned off and the gas pedal didn't work so I had to coast to the shoulder. Luckily, I didn't have to cross any lanes of traffic or it could have been extremely dangerous. I plan to contact the dealer as soon as I am done with this submission. I wanted to be able to tell them that I had notified the NHTSA.

While using adaptive cruise control at 47mph on a local highway, automatic emergency braking activated almost stopping the vehicle with vehicles fairly close behind it nearly causing an accident.   there were no vehicles beside our car and no vehicles or objects on the road in front that could trigger the braking.   this has also happened several times at lower speeds on less crowded roads.   after the last occurrence, I took the vehicle to the prescott Honda dealership where they were unable to duplicate the problem.   they documented the problem but told me that Honda would not replace the sensors under warranty unless the Honda technician was able to duplicate the problem while driving it.   if this happened on a busy interstate highway like I-40 or I-17 at 75mph with vehicles or a large truck close behind, it could cause a serious accident.

Hi I have been trying to take care of fuel pump related recall for a while and went to millers Honda nys reg r- 4040274 3 times and every time I realize there is problems with vehicles safety features and acceleration and it won’t pass inspection. Few times it felt like as if vehicle would stop in the middle of the road because I couldn’t accelerate. Recently I was charged almost 1500 dollars for a problem they should have fixed in 2023. In 2023 I attempted to make a complaint with the dmv and they temporarily fixed the problem and it would come back time to time. Please help and investigate.

My cruise control will not work. Lane departure is not working. All my lights are on in my new vehicle I just purchased. Bad fuel injectors seem to be the problem. Honda should recall these bad fuel injectors before a serious accident occurs.

On 9/2/25 all the engine lights came on on the dash. I replaced the battery and it was fine the rest of the day. Then 9/3/25 once again all the lights are on and none of the adas work.

The contact owns a 2026 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph with the forward collision avoidance: adaptive cruise control feature activated, the vehicle independently decelerated unintendedly. The vehicle resumed normal driving operation immediately after the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the contact alerted a service technician that the forward collision avoidance: adaptive cruise control failure was an issue with the apple carplay feature. The service technician acknowledged that the apple carplay feature was a known issue and linked the adaptive cruise failure with that same defect. The service technician reset the software to the original factory settings to correct the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and acknowledged that the apple carplay failure was a known issue. The contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

All auxiliary safety system warning lights came on at once, with abs, tpms, collision avoidance and adaptive cruise all rendered inoperable. Dealer says faulty fuel injectors are to blame. . Read more...

All my idiot lights appeared on my dashboard. My mechanic plugged in and nothing came up so I took it to white plains Honda on Aug. 5. They called me on Aug. 14 and said my brake booster was bad. They said that they worked on trying to find the problem 12 hours. So with the diagnosis and part and labor, my cost is $5447+ tax. So I called Honda north America, got a case number. On Aug 26 Honda na said that they can’t help me. My car is at Honda crv sport hybrid 2023 with 47,440 miles on it. I’m over the 3 year or 36,000 miles and I do not have an extended warranty. Also on Aug 22, my service advisor said he could get the price down to $5,000. + tax. So I am lost on what to do.

Twice, while making a right turn the car braked on me, I assume because a car was in the other lane of the road I was turning into. This could have been a problem and could have caused an accident if someone was behind me and my car stopped suddenly.

Twice in the last week while driving with the adaptive cruise control on the car has gone into the "collision mitigation" mode where the brakes engage with no warning but there was nothing in front of the car to cause this to happen. Both times were going up a small hill and on the other side of the hill was a police cruiser so we presume there was something (radar?) that the police were using that caused the car to sense we were about to collide. These situations are a shock to the driver and passengers, and would be worse if the car following us were to rear end us! the radar conflicts should be nothing new to the nhsta. The steering wheel sticks when beginning to turn it. Occurs at all speeds and seems to be more prevalent at warmer temperatures.

I have had all warning lights go on disabled some options, gave me incorrect speed, (I ended up w a speeding ticket over that) made my vehicle go in limp mode ,didn't want to accelerate on highway, could have caused an accident I have a young child and was scared to even drive it. It turned out to be my fuel injectors which was very pricey and I had Honda do the repair. I have seen a whole lot of people with this issue with the engine I have which is the 1. 5 turbo. I think it should be addressed by Honda and they should really be fixing the issue at no cost especially since they know the original injectors were faulty and they changed the part number. Hope it gets addressed on behalf of hundreds of thousands of these vehicles and not so happy Honda customers.

I am writing to formally report the theft of a sensor that occurred on 05/20/2025, which I believe was a direct result of its insecure placement. Unfortunately, its position left it vulnerable to unauthorized access and theft. I would like to raise the concern that the placement and securing method of the sensor did not adequately consider the risk of theft, especially in an area with public or easy access. I request that the matter be investigated thoroughly and that steps be taken to prevent such incidents in the future, such •reviewing placement protocols for all outdoor or publicly accessible sensors, •enhancing physical security measures (e. G. , tamper-proof casings, cctv coverage), •and, replacing the stolen equipment promptly. The car has several safety problems due to the censor missing critical safety features.

On startup all safety warning lights flashed on and disabled all safety driving aids. This persisted and took to Honda dealer. Their diagnostics revealed faulty fuel injectors with code p0304 failed number 4 cylinder. Recommend replacing fuel injector go for $2000.

Multipurpose (windshield) camera has failed on 5 occasions making adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, forward collision warning and lane departure warning inoperable. Camera has been completely replaced twice at considerable expense. Dealer is scheduled to investigate again.

I recently purchased my 2025 Honda crv from the dealership January. I was driving with my 2025 Honda crv and I noticed that the lane keep assist was having the ping pong affect when I first picked it up but I didn't really think too much about it. I assume my vehicle just needed some drive time since it was brand new and it was the first time it was on the highway. I noticed that this function was also causing the wheel to be very stiff. I know this system is a driving assistant and is not meant to take away from actual driving and paying attention to the road. But this week the system made an over correction and caused my vehicle turn into a guardrail on the highway. The road was straight, the day was clear and the lines on the lanes were very visible. There shouldn't have been an issue. I was pulled into the guardrail on the driver's side. I was with my girlfriend, her [xxx] son and my friend at the time. Everyone was a bit shaken up, I never had that happen before. It was primarily cosmetic damage to the vehicle and no other vehicles or property was damaged. I wasn't aware there was a steering recall on this vehicle until after the incident, and the recall was posted during the time I was finalizing the paperwork with my dealership for purchasing this vehicle. I haven't taken it to a dealership since getting the vehicle because they prepared everything prior to delivery or picking it up from the port in my case. I have filed a claim with my insurance company and hopefully the vehicle can be inspected for steering issues, to include the lane keep assist. I didn't get any warnings from the vehicle during the incident and I did notice that the steering is overly controlled by the adaptive cruise control when I try to make a turn in my own lane. All emergency warning lights from adaptive cruise control,automatic brake system,lane keeping alert,forward collision warning,etc. Came up on the dasboard while driving and car losing power. . . .

The millimeter wave radar has failed. While using adaptive cruise control the vehicle set off many alarms without prior warning. The vehicle suddenly showed that adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, road departure mitigation, frontal collision, low speed parking were no longer functioning and to see a dealer. I was not using frontal collision no road departure mitigation as these features had twice before unexpectedly applied heavy breaking without warning with no obstructions near vehicle. Fortunately no accident occurred but very unnerving to say the least. The dealer has confirmed that the millimeter wave radar has failed and will need replaced. Honda sensing is not very reliable and should be used with caution if used at all.

So for over a year my dash lights and I mean every light from tire pressure to abs brake to lane assist every light was on. Then about three months four months ago it began going into limp mode just driving down the road. This is a 2017 Honda crv over 100,000 miles on it took it into Honda of hennessy in woodstock georgia. They said that it needed fuel injectors which over 300,000 recalls were done for the same thing except mine cost me $2200 to fix what has happened to Honda. Before I could get it to a dealership because I live over an hour and a half away, the car would just shut down and I would have to pull over stop the car crank it back up hold my breath and go till the next time it would go into limp mode.

With adaptive cruise control on, without touching brake or cruise controls, while passing semi trucks (also happens but less frequently with all vehicles), the adaptive cruise control will pause or disengage, causing the vehicle to lose speed and momentum. Vehicles trailing the vehicle at this time are not aware of this sudden change in constant speed, creating a potential serious accident at highway speeds. Problem has occurred numerous time over the life of the vehicle (2 months). Is repeatable.

Always driving east my cruise control, lane keeping assist and other safety systems stop working. Cars behind me are not aware of my sudden slow down. The alert said to clean the plastic h in the grill. I have been to two Honda dealers and the problem persists. Honda corporate in California calls it radar blindness. Aware of problem but no fix. I feel it is sun reflection off of the plastic h in the grill as it’s always clean and only happens when I drive east bound. I didn’t realize I was buying a problem when I bought my crv. Please help.

2017 Honda crv had several warning lights came on and dealer indicated it was fuel injection problem. Dealer charged $ 1500 and fixed problem. Again this year same warnings light came on. Dealer is indicating it's due to timimg chain issue and dealer wants to pull parts from engibe to see what the problem is and depending on what the problem is fix it. Dealer wants to charge more money depending on what they find and is high cost item. Delaer is not specific.

On highway, engaged cruise control at 70 mph. Engine light came on, simultaneously with loss of power (pressing on gas pedal did nothing) and apple carplay disconnect. We were near an exit and managed to drift off, at lower off-ramp speed engine again could respond to accelerator however was chugging very badly. Went to nearby oil change place. Mechanic there advised going straight to dealer a short distance further. Drove on to the Honda dealer, car still chugging and stopped the car until I could talk to the service person. When the car restarted it was no longer chugging. Service person diagnosed the following and said I basically needed a new engine: tech scanned vehicle and found codes p0300 random cyl misfire, p0302 cyl 2 misfire. Tech checked live data and had very little misfire coming from cyl 3, pulled all coils and plugs and found cyl 2 and 4 had the injectors still spraying with the vehicle off indicating failure of the injectors in those 2 cylinders, in cylinder 3 tech found excessive oil burning on the piston, indicating oil leaking into the combustion chamber of the motor.

We bought a 2017 crv rand new. With 1. 5 engine and turbo, all warning lights are on . Obd keeps on giving ing medifferent codes and multiple. . I have watch car repairs in youtube and there's a lot of the same vehicle as mine with the same problem.

Windshield camera and all its functions does not work. The following systems do not work. Lkas acc cmbs ldw I drive 3 hours to work and back and not having these safety features is dangerous for me because my foot and ankle hurts to keep a consistent speed, and when I am drowsy the lkas helps me stay in my lane. All of these warning lights are on my dash. I bought this vehicle in 2018 and the lights have been on since 2024. I am just now learning that I could report this.
