3 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2014 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 11/14/2014

The headrests are totally uncomfortable in my new Cr-v. I've had to purchase a lumbar support & neck rest (pillow), in an attempt to solve the horrible design of the seat/headrest. It's tilted too far forward & if I attempt to rest my back into the seat, my head is bent forward. No adjustment is able to fix the problem; it only goes up & down. The chevy traverse (which I rented a few months ago) has a perfect headrest. I was able to adjust it up/down & backward/forward!.

4 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2014 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/30/2014

The headrest in the vehicle is angled too far forward at the top to be comfortable for people who have to sit straight up in the seat! the angle on the headrest should be adjustable for those who have to sit straight up. As designed, it is far more comfortable to either remove the headrest or turn it around backwards. Both of which would lead to severe head and neck injuries in a rear end collision.

5 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2013 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/05/2013

Bad angle on the headrest and cannot be adjusted. Costing me time off work and physical therapy. Not very safe after all if you keep driving with neck and back pain. Definitely will sell car ASAP specifically because of that.

6 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2013 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/14/2013

The contact owns a 2013 Honda crv. The contact stated that the headrest could not be adjusted and was very uncomfortable. The contact was told that they should lean the seat back to relieve pressure. The dealer told the contact that the vehicle was designed based on NHTSA safety standards. The contact also stated that the center console would sit too high and was becoming a safety hazard because they could not climb over the console in the event of an emergency. The vehicle was not repaired. The current mileage was 75. Updated 4/29/13 updated 05/24/2013.

7 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2012 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 11/01/2012

Both front seat headrests are too far forward causing neck pain. People are turning them around creating an unsafe condition if accident occurs. Correct neck rest angle.

8 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/24/2012

I have complaints about the safety requirements of the head restraints on newer vehicles. I understand the physics behind the safety feature of having the head restraints tilted close to the drivers head. However, if you drive with your head already close to a head restraint that is not tilted (as found in the older vehicles 2004 and older), you will still get the same safety and the head restraint is much more comfortable and it doesn't cause pain. You need to review and amend your requirements of this safety feature, because currently, the tilted head restraints are causing more harm (and pain) than safety to us drivers who drive upright.

9 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2012 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/17/2012

2012 Honda Cr-v headrest - when sitting with my back completely against the car seat, the top part of the headrest is pitched forward at such an angle that it forces my head forward regardless of the height of placement. In order to correctly align my head with my spine while driving, I have to sit forward. This is not a feasible position. I am 5'10" tall and I already suffer from cervical spine problems without this headrest creating more!!! I did not realize the situation with the headrest until I'd had the vehicle for about a week. I called the Honda customer service number 1-800-999-1009 on March 2, 2012 at approximately 12:50 pm e. S. T. To complain. Their representative told me she would make a note of my complaint and pass it on to the design team. She stated that nothing could be done at this time to fix it. The only solution I could find was to turn the headrest around and attach a cushion to it in case of an accident. These headrests may have been designed to fit current safety measures, but one side does not fit all!!.

10 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2011 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/09/2011

The front seat head restraints in the 2011 Honda Cr-v are tilted too far forward, resulting in severe neck strain followed by headaches. While Honda suggests positioning the seat tilted back, this does not alleviate the problem and results in a safety issue since my wife then has difficulty seeing over the hood and grasping the steering wheel. A re-design of the head restraint is required so it does not force the head forward and down.

11 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/10/2008

The headrest pushes forward much too far and is causing pain and tension on my wife's neck and back. Also there is no lumbar support on the passenger side and she is extremely uncomfortable in this car. When we contacted Honda we were told that there are no remedies to fix this. Because of this we would never buy a Honda again unless they changed these issues. We just bough this one and are very unhappy with the lack of comfort and the inability to even purchase an alternate headrest or to be able to choose a seat with more back support. The headrest and seat should be adjustable to fit the consumer's stature and comfort level.

12 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 11/28/2006

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Cr-v. The top of the head rest protrudes forward into the contacts head, leaving her neck exposed. The dealer stated that the seat was designed in that fashion. The manufacturer took down her information and created a file. The current mileage was 9,300 and failure mileage was 300. Updated 01/02/08. The consumer stated the headrest can not be adjusted adequately for passenger to rest. Updated 12/12/07.

13 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2003 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/01/2002

I would just like to register a complaint, with what I and apparently Honda of north America consider a safety defect with the 2003 Honda crv. The center rear headrest restraint is of the same height as the left and right rear headrest on this vehicle. What this does is prevents the driver from being able to have a clear view in the rear view mirror. In order for the driver to have a clear view from the rear view mirror, the head restraint must be removed therefore defeating its safety purpose for the middle passenger in the rear seat. Honda obviously realized this , because the 2005 model has a lower height rear seat middle passenger head restraint, as it should. As a consumer I believe that Honda, should offer owner's of this vehicle, the new updated lower height head restraint for the rear seat middle passenger at no charge to owners of this vehicle.
