There was a safety recall for the rear arm control and excessive rust, Honda said they fixed it back in 2018… out of no where my car lost control and caused me to crash, I brought the car back to Honda and the rear arm bracket broke off due to excessive rust however Honda states it was repaired and there is nothing they can do, they won’t even look at the vehicle.

We bought this vehicle for our grandson for a great price, so we signed an "as is"agreement, knowing the dealer didn't inspect it. We were unaware that the rear axle housing was completely rusted. On 1/1/2026, he was driving and the rear axle housing broke off and the car is disabled. We had it towed to our home. Is this expensive to repair and if so, where do we begin. It seems the recall was ignored. Is it worth repairing?.

The tpms, a federally mandated safety system, has a persistent and intermittent communication fault, causing the warning lamp to remain illuminated. This renders the critical safety system inoperable, preventing notification of dangerously low tire pressure and placing vehicle occupants at risk. The fault first appeared since April 2025 after the vehicle required a jump start. Independent diagnosis: an ase-certified independent service center confirmed the persistent tpms communication code. Exhaustive diagnostics verified that the battery, charging, starting systems, and parasitic draw are all normal. The technician concluded the failure is systemic (likely software/module related) and requires Honda factory/dealer proprietary equipment to resolve. Honda’s refusal & barrier to repair: the vehicle has not been inspected by a Honda dealership because Honda corporate (case #16008453) case manager kevin created an unreasonable barrier to repair: kevin closed the goodwill case and refused to cover the diagnostic fee necessary to identify the fault in this safety system. During the final call, kevin denied escalation, contradicted corporate's prior confirmation of a supervisor request, and refused written documentation of the denial. Honda's refusal to cover the diagnostic fee for a documented failure in a mandated safety system prevents the required manufacturer-level testing and resolution. I am filing this complaint due to the safety risk and Honda's procedural failures.

Scheduled recall to be looked at, however my local dealership called me the day of appointment to tell me they do not have the part for that and would need to order it and then schedule my appointment. So the person ordered it and then I had to call back to see if the part came in yet. Upon looking at my car on a lift, they told me they would have to charge me to fix the car because the lug nut they stripped looking at my vehicle was stripped. I was not willing to pay them so the dealership sent me home. I called back to see how to fix it and they never offered me an answer. It’s been needing the recall for years since and no Honda dealership is able to fix it.
On Monday, April 21, I was traveling down a long hill (2 lanes up, 1 downhill) when my vehicle went into an uncontrolled, broadside skid into 2 lanes of oncoming traffic. I continued to skid back to the right side of the road, back to the left, and finally back to the right where I got it pulled onto the berm. Upon examination, my right rear tire was tilted outward at approximately 30 degrees. The wheel was totally locked up. I called a towing company as the vehicle was completely unable to be driven. A state police officer showed up, apparently called by a passerby, for traffic control and assess the safety of the situation. The car was hauled via tilt-bed truck to my local auto repair shop. One of the mechanics there told me his wife had the same vehicle, only a year older, that he been recalled due to this being and issue for 2011. I called Honda customer care and was informed that the recall was not in effect for 2012 model year. Customer care advised me to have the car taken to a Honda dealership, which was done, again via tilt-bed. Both my local shop and the dealer said the damage was irreparable. Customer care said the case would be assigned to one of their agents, but nothing has happened since April 24, the day they were initially notified.

We were driving on TX- 183 near bedford, texas, 76021. Lane keep assist and cruise control were active at the time of the incident. We were driving in the leftmost lane when suddenly we heard a loud thud noise and the tire immediately went 90 degrees causing us to lose steering control. The vehicle went from the left lane into the shoulder, making contact with the side barrier on the highway with the tire as first point of contact. We immediately attempted to regain control of the vehicle and managed to steer it out of the barrier and slowly come to a skidding stop in the shoulder area. Multiple suspension components damaged, possibly transmission, wheel damaged, ball joint and axle damaged, left front strut, strut mount, strut bearing, and upper spring seat damaged. We got it fixed for the first time for 6. 1k then they wires another fix for the back wheel because the entire wheel and more parts were damaged and they want to fix it for 1k more. And then today I got another quote for 1. 3k for the strut. They have done multiple diagnostic tests and alignment tests but keep coming with more issues.

After getting a tire rotation done for 2025 Honda crv lx at 9199 miles at the dealership, when I took it out of their hands, I heard a consistent mechanical noise coming from one of the tires. I returned the car immediately back to the dealership to diagnose this issue. The dealership service center said that the car had a driver side broken wheel bearing, and it would take two days to get the part and fix it. I don't know if the dealership kept the broken part or threw it away. I regularly drive this car long distances on the highway, so having a broken wheel bearing puts me and other drivers at risk of a crash. The vehicle has not been inspected by others other than the dealership. There were no warning messages or other symptoms before. Only immediately after getting a tire rotation did this happen.

I was driving to the mailbox today and the car revved forward and the steering became hard to control and steer. This is the second incident. When I originally reported to the supervisong service agent at my Honda of katy, mr. John kasimoff, he dismissed it since the "check engine light" did not turn off. He and the staff at Honda of katy discouraged me from bringing in the car. I am afraid to drive the car in texas. A car is necessary for my livelihood and to get around. Food shopping and to buy simple basic necessities require an automobile and can no longer afford taking ubers and depend on the kindness of friends to assist me with deliveries and other transportation. The recall came merely days after purchasing my new car and it's suspect to me that no one at the dealership was unaware of ongoing issues when they keep contacting me about purchasing. Honda has yet to send information on when a possible solution for parts and service to my vehicle. They referred me to the Honda of katy dealership but the dealership is referring me back to Honda automotive. I need assistance because I want repairs and a full diagnostic made to my Honda Cr-v hybrid sport without any more delays.
Noisy rough ride that was attributed to uneven tire wear on all 4 tires, called "cupping". Safety: online research of major tire brands and NHTSA state that continuing to drive on cupped tires can be hazardous due to lost of traction, especially in emergency situation. The dealer, a private mechanic and a tire outlet all confirmed that the tires have uneven wear called "cupping". The dealer's service manager and mechanic foreman and a private mechanic all inspected the tires and confirmed the uneven wear. The first symptom was a wump-wump noise and vibration when driving slow, slowing down or making a turn. Problem first appeared around 11,000 miles. Now the problem appears worse. In that the initial noise and vibration is worse and now there is a chattering sound and vibration in highway drive. Plus an occasional "shimmy sensation" when a bump or rough patch in the road is gone over. New development. Since the onset of this problem. Honda has come out with a recall notice regarding an issue with their steering gearbox worm wheel for the car model involved. A technical service bulletin was issued on the steering problem, with a note that this problem can lead to uneven tire wear. Despite this warning, the service manager for the dealer is insisting that it is safe to drive on cupped tires. I have since taken my car into the dealer to have the recall issue addressed. But again the service manager is insisting that driving on cupped tires is safe. I think this is a potentially danger situation where customers are being told by the Honda dealer that it is safe to continue to drive on cupped tires. I think that the NHTSA needs to require Honda corporation to order all Honda dealers to cover any uneven tire wear from the faulty steering gearbox defect. I just ordered a set of new tires for my safety at a cost of about $1000. Please help.
Dear national recall team, I am writing to report a recurring and potentially hazardous issue with my vehicle that has not yet been addressed through a recall. Since July 2024, I have experienced a problem with the steering wheel intermittently getting stuck, accompanied by a rattling noise from the left side of the vehicle. During a routine oil change, I asked the service technician to inspect the issue, but I was told everything appeared normal. Despite this, the problem has continued. I followed up with several phone calls but was consistently told that no issues could be found. I brought the vehicle back in again on Friday, where they replaced the brake fluid, yet once again reported no findings. Unfortunately, the steering issue and rattling noise persist, and I am increasingly concerned for my safety while operating the vehicle. When I contacted customer service, I was informed that only vehicles from model years 2022–2024 are currently covered under a recall for steering-related problems. As my vehicle does not fall within that range, I was told I do not qualify for assistance — despite experiencing similar symptoms. I respectfully request that this issue be investigated further, as it appears to pose a serious safety risk. I am happy to provide additional documentation or bring the vehicle in for inspection if needed. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Recently, I had a flat tire. Our 2024 Cr-v hybrid does not have a spare. The tire inflator/sealant did not repair the flat. We were two hours away from home on a Saturday afternoon, and no tire repair shops were open. We had the car towed to the nearest tire repair shop and left for the rest of the weekend since no repair places were open Sunday. Monday we drove two hours to get the car. The tire was able to be repaired. If the tire could be repaired why wasn't the sealant able to repair the tire? we live in utah, and we were lucky to have been as close to a repair shop as we were. Without a spare tire and an inflator/sealant that is unable to repair the tire with a simple hole, this car is unsafe to drive.
Honda was using an "indirect" tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) for several years, from at least 2020 to 2024. This indirect system shows a low tire indicator on the dash when a change in tire pressure on any of the four tires changes. It does not indicate which tire is affected. Thus, you are forced to check all four tires manually. This requires that you find a safe place to pull over and check the tires. You have no way to know if you are getting a flat without exiting the car. The system is very sensitive and will indicate low pressure if the change is even for a couple of pounds. I recently met someone who had the exact same vehicle as mine. We compared notes. Her crv does the same thing and we both have experienced a bit of anxiety from it. Honda will tell you to "just recalibrate the system", but that does nothing but tell the vehicle that the tires are now ok at the new levels--even if one is low. This is a safety and performance issue. A Honda salesman told me today that they have gone back to a direct system with individual tire pressure indicators on the new models. Apparently there have been a lot of complaints.

At 9k miles excessive noise, sounds like a helicopter. Dealership confirmed all four tires were scalped, did an alignment and thought it might correct the problem. It has not, both the dealer and corporate Honda refused to correct. Adaptive cruise control malfunction, major safety hazard. When engaged the car unexpectedly stops at all speeds on highway or rural roads, with no cars in sight in front of the vehicle. Have experienced multiple incidents or near rear end collisions because of abrupt braking. When brought to dealer they claimed they couldn't find any error codes, thought that maybe dirt was on the two radar sensing units. . . Not the case, still continues to be an issue. Car turns off unexpectedly. . . On an on ramp to a highway, traffic was stopped. When traffic started moving the car turned off completely. . . Warning light stated see dealer. Put the car in park and restarted vehicle, brought to dealer who claimed no error codes. All the above happened at the 9k miles, none of the major safety hazard issues were confirmed by the dealer or corporate Honda. Am at a loss as to next steps. Please advise, thanks.
The part that failed is called the "electronic servo pedal simulator unit", aka "set, bos assm. " aka "brake pedal simulator (simulator set, pedal feel)" aka "brake pedal operating simulator". The Honda (oem) part number is 01469-tpg-a95. The part failure was diagnosed at buckeye Honda in lancaster, ohio, in coordination with the tech department at Honda corp. , and was replaced at buckeye Honda in lancaster, ohio. The buckeye Honda (service department) said that they had not seen this problem before, so they contacted the tech dept. At Honda to seek assistance in the diagnosis. The safety of the vehicle occupants was put at risk by the almost complete loss of brake functions and the interacting functions. At first the brake warning and avs warning lights would illuminate on the driver's display, and then they would go off and everything would function normally. But the driver' display warnings got more frequent and the brakes would not function normally. Finally, all of the driver's display warnings would sequence through, one by one, and the brakes were almost entirely gone. The Honda dealer did not give me the faulty part because he said it would have to be sent to Honda. I do not know if Honda America will inspect the part to determine the cause of the failure. I did take a cellphone picture of the part. The problem began approx. 4/10/2024. I picked up the repaired vehicle at buckeye Honda on Monday 4/29/2024. The part was out of warranty by about one month: the "in-service date" was 03/04/2021. The mileage on the vehicle was 12,920 miles at the time of repair and I am the original owner. Honda America did give me a "goodwill" authorization number, in coordination with buckeye Honda in lancaster, ohio, which lowered my out of pocket cost to $l457. 73.
Rear tires completely bald after 3,000+/- miles. Toe setting was so bad that I was basically dragging the tires down the road. After replacing tires and new alignment done by Honda I had 3 different shops check alignment, they all showed wheels out of alignment and all with different values. After spending nearly 3 hours with hunter (alignment equip mfr), the rep. Said their standard alignment equipment will not work with the wheels but has not provided any resolution. Not knowing the wheels were bald I drove from bonaire, GA to jupiter, FL at 70 mph and sometimes in the rain - lucky to be alive. I'm concerned for everyone else who owns this vehicle with the wheels. You have no way to know if your vehicle is properly aligned and what happened to me could happen to anyone.
Steering feels sticky at high and low speeds. Feels as if the steering is jumping out of your hands.
While driving on the highway, my daughter experienced an issue that caused her to lose the ability to steer the vehicle. The vehicle went off of the road and into a guardrail causing damage to the left side of the car. Prior to losing the ability to steer, she thought she felt some strange shaking. Thankfully, she was not hurt and did not collide with any other vehicles. The situation could have ended much worse than it did. The vehicle is currently at the dealership being inspected. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the incident. The issue seems very similar to other issues that we have read about affecting 2024 crvs and other Honda models that cause difficulty steering. Much like the issues we read about, this was a new vehicle with low mileage and during winter months.
Hello I’m 81 years old and own a 2008 Honda crv that runs fine. VIN:jhlre46558c004560, but previous owner never went to the recall and I bought the car in 2014 and recently, during a brake job, I first became aware of the problem when my mechanic alerted me to the recall situation and the rusting out that was putting drivers in a very dangerous situation. My car failed the recall because of the rust causing the degradation of the rear suspension trailing arm, and now I'm left with a car not fit to drive? and I would be liable for whatever happens but I was never offered a solution to buy the car back something to help and I cannot be without one to get to dr’s or buy food live rural I have no choice living alone at 81 need a car. So a question, why am I the problem? when, in the first place, the car was dangerous from the manufacturer to the rusting out situation which was actually life threatening, lose steering, the wheel could collapse or the frame itself, and again, never offered any help at all some compensation, nothing? just drive it home with the burden of the liability etc. I’m on a fixed income of only $800 a month how am I to survive living rural without a car at my age? please, I need some help. Why am I being punished when the design itself, as I said, created the dangerous problem and just that's it? appreciate help from someone. Ogostino mancini.

Passenger rear trailing arm broke off from body mount. Vehicle is still available for inspection. Coming to a stop sign and car came to an abrupt stop. Something had stopped the car before I even got to the stop sign. Coming down to the stop sign car began to lost steering and swayed back and forth. Car is in very good condition has 138,100 miles on it. But now it can,t be driven cant be fixed and be safe. Still books for $3200. 00. Our family was left vulnerable to a horrible accident if going any faster when this happened. Broke down on a back road at 10:30 p. M. Close to a stop sign. Had to be towed. A recall of the 2007 to 2011 Cr-v. Stated that this happens to those models. They didn't go back far enough on this recall and if I hadn't told people who still have the 2005- 2006 model they wouldn't have known and this could happen to them. Vehicle was inspected by insurance CO. And Honda dealership and reported to Honda corp. Rust no coverage or repair for this vehicle. Mechanic looked at can't repair and make safe. Same problem as those vehicles recalled. But because it wasn't on the recall list there is nothing they can do about this vehicle. This left me, my loved ones vulnerable to a serious accident if I had been on a freeway let alone on any road going 50 and above in speed. No warnings what so ever that this could happen. No messages, no lamps no letters from Honda nothing.

I have been told that my front wheel hub bearings are going bad. My vehicle only has 31,000 miles on it and from what I understand, this issue should not occur until about 100,000 and is not an expensive repair. I did do some on-line researh, and Honda does seem to have an issue with this--although with a different model. I have contacted Honda and asked for some assistance--I. E. , a free service at a dealer to determine exactly what the problem is, but they are not accepting any responsibility at this time. I am afraid that I will get stuck on the highway or it could cause an accident if the wheel is totally compromised.

0n 03/29/2023 I took my car to the dealer for service ( 3rd time ) because my car has only 19000 miles on it . To my surprise the service manager told me that 2 of my tires where in need of attention because there where to close when the tires need to be replace. I ask what is the cause of the uneven wear of the tires ( 5/32,6/32,4/32,4/32) he said didn't know the cause. Futher research on my side I find there is a service bulletin from Honda ( bulletin 20-081)date from October 8 2020 . With paper in hand I went back to the dealer ,they refuse have any knowledge in regards to the service bulletin. For that reason they wont be able to help. On my search from help I contact Honda headquarters they asignate a case number and require a mechanical report from the dealer , in which they didn't find any problems with the car , from that came to the conclusion that the tires where the problem , talk to the tire manufacture , what they told me that Honda need to file a report for them to warranty the tires , so far Honda deny any warranty on tires.
I was driving down the street as I had just came off a major highway. Route 71 north. My back left frame stiffner broke off my car, had I been driving still on the highway, I could have easily been killed. There was a recall for this exact problem in canada. Why not here in the united states?.
The rear passenger wheel assembly became detached after crossing a small depression in the road. The body/frame had rusted where the two bolts that attached to the wheel assembly. The entire frame and body has rusted underneath the car.

Tpms light comes off and on even though tires are fine. Back of vehicle shakes, and feels unstable especially on highway when speeds are higher. And you can hear a sound clicking that comes from the rear end of the vehicle.
Shaking at different speeds wheels feel like they are going to fly off crv. Torque converter shuttering cause tires to shake uncontrollable. Torque converter shakes so bad causes other problems with crv. This major safety issue been for years with Honda. Honda knows it. They just passing time. Then to fix it solve the problem for hundreds even thousands of people there transmission is flawed because their so many on the road they won't recall a transmission because the money. They scammed people . Even if you put new transmission or torque converter you end up with the same problem because it's poorly made. No one should have to drive a vehicle that shakes and makes the wheels feel like they going to fall off. If you don't find that major safety issue then this department isn't doing it's job. . Stop letting these car mandatories get away with bad vehicles.

The inner wall of the wheel is punctured causing the tire to inflated. The incident happen during driving on the highway. Safety issue is concerned.
Rear tires are at 1/32nd of depth after 12,100 miles. Fronts are still at 5/32nds. Tires were rotated at 8,000 miles. Honda had a service bulletin, sb20-081, for the 2017-2020 years. It appears that this was not fixed for the 2021 model year. Tires are below manufacturer min specs in that very limited highway miles. Tires inspected by Honda dealer.
From the moment we drove off the lot, this car had had one issue after another, nearly cause me to lose my job because I couldn’t make it to work due to the car being busted. It was getting really bad mpgs, they said it’s fine. It started overheating, they said the coolant fans and radiator cap were what was wrong, for a long while now the tire pressure management system has been on, 24/7, my tires are not low. I bought new tires for the crv. The mechanics don’t really seem interested in fixing anything.

My tire pressure light has gone on 10 plus times in the last year and I think only 3 times my tire was actually low on air. This is a safety feature because you need your tires to drive. The dealer has advised they can’t find an issue with the sensor etc and keeps telling me it’s the tread etc and wants to show me how to recalibrate the system. I worry every time I get into the car that the light is going to go on and hear a binging sound. It’s very nerve wracking because I only have just shy of 34k miles on the car and it continues to happen. If I ignored it and turned out there was a flat then I cause more damage to the vehicle. I would never consider taking it on a long ride just because of this issue. I don’t want to know how to recalibrate I want it fixed.
Around February of 2022 I noticed air started leaking from my driver's side front tire. When I took it to be looked at, I was told the rim was cracked and that's why the tire leaked air and began running flat. I bought a new rim and had no further issue with that wheel. Now as of the beginning of June, I noticed it happening again but on the front passenger side wheel. I took it to a tire repair shop who submerged the tire in water but found no leak. They replaced a valve, filled the tire with air and a week later it was completely flat again. I was told by a local mechanic that cracked rims are a common occurrence on this model year vehicle but I have seen no recalls for this issue. I have contacted several salvage yards and independent repair shops to get another replacement rim for the passenger side wheel but rims are either unavailable or extremely expensive. I am forced to use the donut tire on my vehicle which is not as safe as having a full size tire and proper rim on my vehicle. Honda needs to investigate this issue and fix it.

Ever since we purchased the vehicle in 2021, it it has made a loud screeching noise when backing up in humid weather or after rain. Whenever we brought it to the dealer's attention, we were told Honda national is aware of the issue and working on a solution. After 3 years of hearing the same thing, we wrote a letter to Honda national and filed a complaint with the nys attorney generals office. The attorney general sent our complaint on to Honda for response. See attached documents for the history.
