Honda Element owners have reported 3 problems related to front suspension control arm (under the suspension category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Honda Element based on all problems reported for the Element.
Left rear (driver side) trailing control arm came out of the mounting bracket causing the tire assembly to fall off while driving on the highway. Lost control of vehicle and narrowly escaped a major accident. This defect has a recall notice in canada but not USA. I noticed similiar complaints on the internet about this problem which is a design defect by Honda with no good remediation. This could have caused a serious injury to myself and granchildren in the car.

The subframe is rusted near the rear control arm, there is a danger of the control arm separating which can result in a crash. The vehicle was stationary when I discovered this as I was attempting to jack the car up to change a tire.
