The power steering is failing. Steering is seriously very hard to steer. Honda needs to issue a recall to repair the steering. This is positively a safety problem.

2 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2019

Power steering failure. Followed by warning light and very heavy steering, was driving at about forty to forty five mph on a paved road in traffic. Stopped, shut the engine off. After a few minutes restarted the engine, the ps failure light was out, the ps worked but only for about five seconds. The ps failure light came back on and the ps failed again. Drove home and parked the car.

3 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2009 Honda Fit. While driving various speeds, the power steering failed. The contact stated that the steering wheel became loose and caused the vehicle to enter into other lanes. The contact stated that the steering failure was intermittent. Yarborough Honda in florence, south carolina was made aware of the failure and scheduled a service appointment. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

4 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while driving at any speed, the power steering would failed then it will be ok. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the racking pinion power steering system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred and the instrument panel light illuminated. The failure recurred seven times while driving. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 63,250. Aw.

5 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2014

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Fit. While driving approximately 65 mph, the power steering failed and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. The contact pulled the vehicle over and shut off the engine. Upon restarting, the vehicle resumed normal operation. The failure occurred intermittently. The dealer reset the power steering software, but the failure recurred. An independent mechanic stated that the power steering module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 96,000.
