1 Body problem of the 2013 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 08/08/2025

Paint has peeled extensively allowing for rust to form to roof and hood, which I suspect is a defect as opposed to natural wear. Similar Fits of white color have an existing class action lawsuit. This is for blue color.

2 Body problem of the 2017 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 05/22/2025

My wife's wedding finger was nearly amputated near the fingertip from our 2017 Honda Fit , it happened when she was getting out of the car and I was closing the electric windows on may 22 2025, luckily we had lots of napkins in the glove box to catch all of the blood,we went to emergency room and finger was x-ray'd and found out it was broken, they had to cut off wedding ring, er doctor stitched back together, prescribed antibiotics, and told her she needed to see a orthopedic surgeon in a week to do repairs I called and reported this to Honda corp. And they said they would call and setup time to inspect vehicle, still have not received call yet there were no warnings or messages.

3 Body problem of the 2010 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 03/04/2025

Purchased car on March 4, 2025. Noticed tmps dashboard light was on, returned 3/5/2025, Ford replaced tire senor, light was still on, they replaced 4 tire senors. But did not replace all untill 4/19/2024, that is when I noticed a bubble and crack on tire and a broken sway bar link. Also they did not inspect my car within 7 days, they inspected it on 3/14/2025. No rejection sticker put on, so I was driving the car Honda without any sticker until they replaced another senor. Told me the tmps light would go off after I drove the car around. 24 Ford of south easton of easton, MA sold me a 2010 Honda Fit that has a driveshaft recall for corrosion. Also, faulty tire senors, replaced but dashboard tmps light is still on, lied about giving me a new tire, tire has bubbles on it and they put tire on rim facing in toward car wheel hub so it won't be visible, I noticed this and a broken sway bar link. Ford let me drive an unsafe car off the lot. They didn't offer to fix it, I went to axp auto , paid $183. 00 to fix the sway bar link, then to a tire shop to get a new tire . I went to Honda dealership and they replaced the driveshaft and gave me a $2000. 00 estimate of safety repairs that need to be fixed. Six weeks after I brought car, transmission engine light is constantly on. . . Many other thing wrong. Axle shaft r&r, front pads and rotor, 4 tires, dirty air filter, old oil filter black oil. Now transmission pressure senor needs replacement. List is long. Axp auto also gave me a $2,000. 00 quote on repairs, transmission fluid pressure switch gasket, etc. Steering tie rods, replace brakes. This Honda Fit is a deathtrap and I am scared to drive it. 24 Ford should have replaced driveshaft before I purchased car. They swindled me on the sales contact as I didn't know they charged me $6200. 00 in warranty, I was able to cancel one warranty total of $2000. 00, as t didn't cover brakes and other repairs, such as powertrain. Offered no gap to me. 24 Ford is bad.

4 Body problem of the 2007 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 11/26/2024

I heard that some Honda models between 2003 and 2007 may qualify for a paint recall. The paint job on the roof is the major issue. It's been peeling and the paint is almost gone on the roof and getting rusty. It's a safety concern because my car now looks pink and that would not be helpful to law enforcement if anything happened because my car is documented as being red.

5 Body problem of the 2019 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 11/09/2024

White paint peeling off car. Honda has a service for this but not the 2019 model year. This is a known issue with their white paint and should be corrected to include this year. Several forums are posting about the same issue where the paint jut fly's off.

6 Body problem of the 2019 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 01/01/2024

White paint is peeling badly and causing body of vehicle to corrode and rust. It is primary occurring on the roof of the vehicle, where the white paint is peeling off in sheets. I have reported this to Honda corporate through their customer service phone number. I have also made pohanka Honda of fredericksburg aware of the problem. There was a previous recall for identical peeling white paint issues that was extended to cover 2018 white Honda Fit vehicles, but the 2019 white paint clearly has the same issue. The paint is defective and leads to significant premature body damage.

7 Body problem of the 2018 Honda FIT

8 Body problem of the 2015 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 11/01/2023

The floor of the driver seat and the floor of the front passenger seat continuously flood after it rains. I have dried the floors with a vacuum and checked for any potential leaks or blockages. However, I cannot find any blockages or leaks that are causing the floors of the car to flood, and it continues to flood after it rains. Besides the floors, nothing else is wet--the seats themselves are dry, and the steering wheel and dashboard all look dry. I am worried this water can lead to the floors rotting or retaining water and having mold--which will be a health concern.

9 Body problem of the 2019 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 10/01/2023

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the condition of my vehicle, which I purchased new (0 miles) in June 2018 . I have encountered significant issues with the paint peeling and mold growth in various areas such as trunk, hood, fenders. It is distressing to note that despite regular maintenance and care, the paint has begun to peel off in several places, exposing the underlying surface and compromising the appearance of the vehicle. Additionally , the presence of mold poses a health and safety risk, as mold spores can cause respiratory health issues . I believe these issues are indicative defective materials used in the manufacturing process. Thank you for your attention.

10 Body problem of the 2019 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 07/28/2023

The paint is peeling on the hood of the car between the moon roof and the windshield. There may be more minor paint peeling on the rear hood closer to the hatchback.

11 Body problem of the 2018 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 07/06/2023

Noticed peeling paint on roof of our 2018 white Honda Fit. This was observed on July 4, 2023 before washing the car.

12 Body problem of the 2017 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 05/09/2023

Chipping paint from the hood and drivers por and all four passenger doors have chipped paint and the bare metal is exposed. Started happening a couple months after I bought the vehicle and progressively getting worse. I have taken it to the dealer at checkered Honda of virginia. They said this car didn’t have any paint recalls but they mentioned some Honda civics and accords had paint issues.

13 Body problem of the 2007 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 04/18/2023

All Honda Fits have a massive water penatration issue. Water leaks from even small amounts of water from rear lift hatch from cracks in the weld seems an into car along inside on both sides in to the wheel well with spar tire. This causes high humidity and consequently massive damageing moister and rusting inside. Found to compromise electrical for tail lights and hazzard lights. Also causeing massive sweating of water vapor that leads to obscure of ability to see through rear window and through all windows. Also massive threat to elderly and children and immune compromised people because toxic mold growth is likely to form. Honda refuses to repair say they don't care how many die because of issue. Children almost killed due to inability to see through rear window.

14 Body problem of the 2008 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 02/20/2023

My bumper snapped off with going down a driveway. It’s made of plastic and it’s broken and need to be replaced. This is an ongoing issue with this vehicle. Every Honda Fit I see on the road has this issue. This is dangerous and could cause an accident.

15 Body problem of the 2019 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 01/01/2023

The paint has begun peeling off the roof of our vehicle after only 45,000 miles and 3 and a half years of ownership. There is no external damage to the vehicle and the paint job is clearly defective. We were given the runaround by our local dealer until the warranty period expired and now are being told it is our responsibility to fix.

16 Body problem of the 2018 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 08/01/2022

Paint is peeling off roof and door very thin and flakes off easily.

17 Body problem of the 2019 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 03/31/2021

I took car in for snow tire change over and the tire shop said car need alignment done, because the tire wear was consistent out alignment, the next day I took alignment shop, after they align the car, they ask me if the car was ever in crash, which I state no because it was not. Car not but it overdue alignment because had about 17,000 miles on it, the rear axle was out alignment and they said cannot be align. So, I call Honda of America and they had me take to dealer to verify, which after verifying in alignment. I drove back the tire shop they rear measure again and the rear still out alignment. However, the toe one the right rear had change from 3 days of normal form -0. 02 degrees to +0. 09 degree different of . 11 degree and left rear move in toe about . 04 degree. The tire repair shop did quick google search say these cars have habit flex and twisting the rear axle. I have bought the car new in July 2020, ask dealership about this issue and what because they said it from driving in connecticut and new england aka pothole and bumps in the road from normal driving. Please note the dealership used alignment measure device you drive thru while the tire shop used a lift and mirror and lasers to measure. I believe increase tire wear in back will be problem and lower over the controls of the vehicle as wheel not tracking right down the road. I believe the rear axle in undersize for the car or has flaw in the metal that used the build the cars. I would up the report, but they contain VIN number.

19 Body problem of the 2015 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 09/02/2020

The air deflector under the front of my car has fallen down 5 times over the past 5 years. It has been replaced once. This has happened during highway driving. I have had to have it zip tied multiple times because either the clips that are used to anchor it are defective, poorly designed, or there are not enough to withstand the forces of the wind.

20 Body problem of the 2015 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 09/01/2020

Paint from factory failed. Peels off in sheets. Items falling off a moving car is safety reason enough. Poor paint adhesion was confirmed by local paint/ body repair business. Honda has agreed by extending paint warranty for 7 years from build date but doesn't offer a recall # record to help with the steps of them handling the cost.

21 Body problem of the 2008 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 05/07/2020

Water enters the car excessively whenever it rains. When researching the issue online, I discovered that many Fit owners have the same issue. It appears that water comes in around the windows and the plastic sheeting inside the door compartment isn't sealed correctly, so instead of shedding the water to outside of the car it allows the water to enter the vehicle around the rear speakers. I'm not sure yet how it is getting into the hatch area. I typically have my rear seats down, so I didn't notice the two inches of standing water in my backseat. Further investigation led me to find two inches in the spare tire compartment as well. Judging by the rust disintegrated jack in the spare tire compartment, this has been happening for quite some time. My rear seat, carpet, and carpet pad have been soaked for so long that when I was vacuuming the water out of the car today, I saw white mold growing along the top of my rear seats. I'm sure the car is loaded with mold and possibly needs to be totaled due to this issue. This now presents major health risks.

22 Body problem of the 2019 Honda FIT

The vehicle was damaged by collision with a road ladden female of standard north american side with relevant existent damage as superficial to. 23 Body problem of the 2018 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 10/24/2019

I was on fm529 in the left hand turn lane heading towards the solid green light, as I was approaching the light I started slowing down and noticed in my left peripheral vision a black car waiting to pull out. I slowed down to 20 mph where I proceeded to head to the traffic light. Then all of a sudden, this black car pulled out crossed two lanes of oncoming traffic & side swiped my car on my driver's side from the front of the left bumper across the left wheel well above the left tire, hit part of my left door and completed turned my left mirror inward so that it was flush with my left window. This black car was much bigger than mine(2014 Toyota camry) and it did give me quite a jolt upon impact. My car was completely in the left hand turn lane when she pulled out of the gas station. The lady that did this wanted to leave the scene of the accident. I said no, because I wanted a police report. She also stated several times that she never saw me in the left hand turn lane. I called 911 and two police officers were dispatched to the scene. One said it was not worth doing a report because the damage was less than $1k. He stated this while he was looking at the damage to her car not mine. The damage to my car is roughly around $2k & he also stated that if he were to write a report up, that our car insurance would jump "sky high". There were no tickets given at the time. The lady and I agreed to handle this out of pocket. I also told the officers that the lady had stated on several occasions that she never saw me, but it didn't seem to make any difference. This accident happened at about 7:55 am. This lady created the problem by not looking to her right side and looking straight in front of her before pulling out into oncoming traffic. I think my back windshield wiper was damaged as it was working just fine before the accident & no longer works. Alignment must be checked.

24 Body problem of the 2008 Honda FIT

26 Body problem of the 2008 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 06/15/2018

I am the original and only owner of this 2008 Honda Fit sport. This car has not been in any accidents so the integrity of the structure of the vehicle should be sound. But it is not. I am not sure when the issue began but I have known about it for a few years and didn't realize that so many other 2008 Honda Fit owners have had the same problem. So, I am just now making this complaint. My car, just as many other 2008 Honda Fit sport owners have reported, has a structural deficiency somewhere that allows water into the vehicle in at least two separate entry points. Water pools in the location where the spare tire is located. Not just a little bit, not just a drop or two. . . But a "pool" of water. Secondly, water is getting into the right rear passenger floorboard. The carpet is constantly wet and mushy. My car smells terrible due to sitting water (smells like rusty dank water?) and very likely mold growth. There have been so many complaints about this issue on these cars I cannot believe Honda has not issued a recall. Honda either needs to make these cars structurally sound with a repair or somehow make it right with the owners by way of a monetary equivalent to the depreciation of the vehicle due to this structural issue. How in the world can I sell this car with this problem?.

27 Body problem of the 2015 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 06/06/2018

The clear coat on my car is chipping. There is spots all over the drivers side and then some around the rest of the car. I have involved the dealership that I got it from about the issue and involved Honda corporation. They brought in 2 managers of Honda corporation to look at my car. And they said it was definitely in an accident and there's nothing they can do and to just pay for my car to be repainted myself. I said that it was too much money I can not afford that. Then they said " well just keep waxing it then". I am very upset and annoyed from this. So I wanna write this complaint to find out information if theres anything else I can do. It has been like this since I got the car.

28 Body problem of the 2011 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 06/06/2018

Driving on freeway, a car was stopped ahead, hit brakes, automatic braking system did not engage, hit rear of car ahead directly without much slowdown compared to expectation, possibly skidding straight, for what seemed like 2-3 seconds (long enough to be puzzled) or forever. Have not had automatic braking kick in a lot of times in past, never had an accident like this. No fluid leakages seen on ground before or after accident. Car was drivable but totaled, no injury reported. Tires 1 year old. Had just gotten on freeway, which had turned to straightaway, so might have been going around 50 when braking started, maybe 15-20 on impact. Passenger side air bag went off.

29 Body problem of the 2015 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 05/03/2018

Rear window 'exploded'. I was waiting to make a left turn, no one was behind me, nothing was touching the window, the inside termperatrue was cool, and the front windows were partially open. I heard a loud noise and saw about 1/2 of the window was missing and the rest was crackeled into little pieces. Photo taken immediately after window broke.

30 Body problem of the 2015 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 04/23/2018

After any significant rainfall, water collects within the doors and leaks into the cabin. This water accumulates under the seats and promotes the growth of mold and mildew under the cabin. After a 1-inch rainfall, approximately 2 cups of water collect under the rear seat on the driver side. This leakage occurs both when the car is in motion or stationary.

31 Body problem of the 2008 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 03/19/2018

There is a leak that causes water to accumulate in the spare tire well and passenger-side rear floor when it rains or snows. I've found this to be a common problem in online forums for 2007 and 2008 Honda Fit owners.

32 Body problem of the 2015 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 03/18/2018

Driving south bound on ballplay rd. Madisonville, TN our side air bag curtains deployed at the same time. There was no impact causing them to deploy. Causing us to leave the road. With some damage to the bottom sides of the car.

33 Body problem of the 2007 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 03/03/2018

~tl the contact owns a 2007 Honda Fit. The contact stated that water entered into the cabin of the vehicle on the rear passenger side. The contact stated that the water accumulated in the rear wheel well on the passenger, and the rear seat and carpeting was soaked. The contact stated that the failure was caused by a fracture along the weld for the rear hatch hinges. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000.

34 Body problem of the 2009 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 02/01/2018

The hood of my car is rusting from under the hood to the outside of the hood. All of the rust spots are at the spot welds where the hood and subhood are attached to each other. Honda refuses to acknowledge this as a problem. No car should rust from the inside out.

35 Body problem of the 2007 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 01/25/2018

I had water collecting in the spare tire compartment and I started to research on line discovering that this is a common issue with the 2007 Fit (what I drive) a hair line crack/fissure in the weld on the back rear weld near the hatch hinge on both sides that moves up towards the roof weather striping. I was able to reseal it myself (time will tell), but this has to be a huge safety issue. Mold and mildew only could be dangerous let alone what structural damage it could be causing long term. A possible recall worry imo.
