The fuel gauge and odometer digital display goes blank, when it comes back on it is showing scrambled numbers and letters. It doesn't do it all the time however it is getting more frequent.
I was driving slowly down a side street and nosing into a parking spot (not parallel parking) when the car surged forward. I hit the car I was parking in back of and propelled that car into the one in front of it. My car has damage to the hood and front bumper.

The problem I have there is 3 recalls for my vehicle. One is the urgent as takata airbags installed. I called local Honda dealer on 6/27/25, they order the part and I received the email stating that part arrived. I called dealer today to schedule a replacement. When I ask how long it will take, lady say about 1/2 day. When I ask if Honda will give me car to drive in that time, she stated no. , but I can rent a vehicle for $75. Dealers name: gary smith Honda, 225 miracle strip sw, FL. , 32548. Is it safe to drive this car?.

The fuel gauge, which is digital, has a soldering point which is apparently a known failure spot due to the type of solder used. This causes the display to fail, which makes the fuel gauge unreadable. Not only is this a distraction for drivers, but it can lead to running out of gas unexpectedly in dangerous situations.

My wife's wedding finger was nearly amputated near the fingertip from our 2017 Honda Fit , it happened when she was getting out of the car and I was closing the electric windows on may 22 2025, luckily we had lots of napkins in the glove box to catch all of the blood,we went to emergency room and finger was x-ray'd and found out it was broken, they had to cut off wedding ring, er doctor stitched back together, prescribed antibiotics, and told her she needed to see a orthopedic surgeon in a week to do repairs I called and reported this to Honda corp. And they said they would call and setup time to inspect vehicle, still have not received call yet there were no warnings or messages.

Fuel gauge on my 2020 Honda Fit lx sometimes goes blank or weird graphics under colder temperatures at start up. Doesn't seem to do it all time though ,especially in warmer weather that I've seen. Seems like when the car warms up, it returns to normal. Have around 42000 miles on it now. I haven't taken it in to my Honda dealer yet for inspection. I believe it maybe a circuit board behind the dashboard after watching a you tube video of someone pulling his out and soldering a spot behind the gauge. He seemed to fix it. Puts the driver at risk if he doesn't know if he has gas in the car! no warnings have ever came on either. Other owners have complained on this to. My car has never been in a wreck either. Hardly drive it. Past my warranty to.
I am reporting a known paint defect involving the white orchid pearl paint on my 2018 Honda Fit. The paint has begun to peel and delaminate, particularly on the roof and other panels, exposing bare metal. As a result, the exposed areas are now beginning to rust. Honda issued a service bulletin covering this issue for seven years from the original in-service date. However, I am not the original owner, and by the time I discovered the issue, the paint had already begun to deteriorate, and I was told I do not qualify for coverage under the extended paint warranty. This defect appears to be a manufacturer issue related specifically to the white orchid pearl paint, which has been widely reported on multiple Honda and Acura models. Honda is aware of this problem but has not offered consistent support to all affected vehicles and owners, especially those who are second-hand buyers, despite the fact that the defect originated from factory-applied paint and is unrelated to ownership. I believe this issue warrants further investigation due to the frequency of complaints, the potential for structural corrosion, and the financial burden on owners. I urge the NHTSA to formally investigate and consider action that will compel Honda to support all affected vehicles, regardless of ownership history. Photos of damage and rust progression are available upon request.

On [xxx], my Honda Fit started to jerk, and then all the warning lights started flashing on my dashboard. I didn’t know what was happening and with all this happening I could not see my speed only on the octometer. When this first began the car also began to jerk. I immediately pulled over and stopped the car. I left it rest and restarted it and everything appeared normal again. I went about ten miles, and it started to reoccur again but not with the jerking. Warning lights continue to blink on the dashboard. I then turned around and went to the nearest Honda dealership to have it checked. They looked at the issue and said it would have to be checked by their computer and were unable to do then. They assured me it would do no damage to the car and continue to drive it and they could book me in a week. Since this was not my usual Honda dealership I decided I would call them on April 25th in the morning, which I did, and they made an appointment for that Wednesday. This continued in my car till I was able to have appointment. The appointment was set up on April 30 at 1 1 am. I had friends follow me up for the appointment as that dealership was about fifty miles away. For $170 they were able to analyze the issue, this money would be put toward any amount that was needed to fix the issue. There was an issue the multipurpose camera unit (electronic failure) and a part had to be ordered and would come to the amount $1,761. 42 to have this fixed. I had no choice but to have it repaired. I then asked the service manager does this happen a lot and his reply in front of one of my friends was that this had happened to six cars in the last two weeks, but they were not Honda Fits but were Hondas. I left the Honda there overnight and it was repaired may 1, 2025. Many have questioned why this should have occurred and especially with the statement the service manager made. I am [xxx] and Honda was recommended to me. This is my first Honda. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information a.
The check engine light came on. The vehicle was shaking/sputtering when idling. We took it into the dealership and they said we needed to replace the fuel injectors, despite the vehicle not even having 60,000 miles on it.
The right side display for fuel, mileage, and temperature goes out.
-the multi-purpose camera sensor system on my 2020 Honda Fit ex hatchback has malfunctioned, disabling critical safety features such as adaptive cruise control (acc), lane keep assist system (lkas), and collision braking warning system (cbws). -the failure of these systems creates significant safety risks. Without acc, the vehicle cannot maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. The lkas no longer provides steering assistance to help stay in the lane, and the cbws cannot detect or warn of potential collisions. These malfunctions increase the likelihood of accidents, especially during highway driving or in heavy traffic. -the issue has been reproduced and confirmed by tony Honda in hi during an inspection on [xxx]. -my 2020 Honda Fit ex hatchback has been inspected by an authorized dealer/service center, which diagnosed a failure in the multipurpose camera. This failure has disabled critical safety features, creating a potential safety risk. The vehicle has less than 21,000 miles and has been well maintained. However, the manufacturer has not offered a resolution, and the vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other parties. Despite the low mileage and the importance of this system, I was informed that I must pay the full repair cost of $3,000 and other companies I visited stated that it can only be fixed by Honda. I believe this issue could indicate a defect and request an investigation into whether other Honda Fit owners are experiencing the same problem. -before the failure, warning messages appeared on the dashboard, including alerts for acc, lkas, and cbws system malfunctions. These warnings initially appeared for a week or so and became more frequent over time. I believe this issue may be a design or manufacturing defect affecting other vehicles of the same make and model. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter to determine if it represents a broader safety concern. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The multi-information display" (mid) which indicates information like the odometer, trip meter, outside temperature, fuel economy, and warning messages goes blank or presents as gibberish. It may only "come to life" randomly.
Unknown- 2015 Honda Fit has been driving perfectly until 2 days ago I came to a red light and it lost power and shut off. Waited for a few hours cranked and shuts off.
I took in my car for the fuel pump recall on October 4th at clawson Honda fresno. I took it home the same day and the next day my car was stalling and shut off on me. I took my car back to clawson Honda on October 8th and they scanned it and said the fuel pressure was low. They cleared the codes that they claimed were unrelated to the recall and wanted to charge me 390 for diagnostics. I refused. My car is still stalling in the road and many of the dash lights come on. The car wont let me accelerate. I took it back to clawson Honda October 30th because this issue was not present prior to the recall. We just received a call that the fuel pump that was replaced is making the other components work harder which is causing it to stall. This is all clearly caused by the recall but they want me to pay 1500 out of pocket to have it fixed. Which is unfair. I submitted a complaint to Honda corporate but they still say we have to pay dealership fees. My car was working fine before the recall and im frustrated that it was returned to me in worse condition. This was all because of the recall fuel pump and the issues are all connected so I shouldnt have to pay.
Digital dash - past 3 years occurring more, it will blank out, information is distorted can’t read digits or anything for a long weird of time. Unable to detect fuel levels, miles, rest function.
When it gets cold, the odometer/gas gauge intermittently glitches. It might come back on or it might stay blank. If you cannot read your mileage, you can’t get accurate repair service. If you cannot read your gas gauge, you could break down on the highway because you ran out of gas and did not know it. This problem seems to occur across Honda Fits ranging from 2015-2020 and even Honda cr-vs from a google search. A few people have found that it has something to do with loose soldering which leads to improper expansion? this needs to be investigated and covered under a recall. Most people wouldn’t be able to afford thousands of dollars.
Odometer/gas gauge screen goes blank or haywire.
Multiple systems failure simultaneously. Lane keep assist system, adaptive cruise control, braking system failure and automatic emergency braking as well as forward collision warning. This appears to be due to some fault within the system that multiple owners experience — many mentions of this issue in online forums. When taken to Honda they cannot even determine why but just start suggesting replacement of various systems to include the camera/radar but cannot guarantee this will fix. This is a safety issue and happens through no fault of the vehicle owner it just pops on one day and remains intermittent.
The paint on my car is chipping off in huge chunks. It is painted with the nh788p the white orchid pearl tricoat. I saw online that I was not the only one with this issue. The severity of this paint chipping can cause my car to rust out and it's outrageously costly to repaint the vehicle.
My car is 2019 Honda Fit (16500 mileage) four dashboard warning signs (check engine light, tire pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability assist system, electric power steering) appeared all at once suddenly on June 26, 2024. I went to the Honda dealer shop to fix it. First they changed spark plugs. After one-day driving it happened again. They changed fuel injectors. Then it happened again after one-day driving. I searched the web and found it is a common problem in Honda Fit. Some of 2019 Honda Fit has a extended warranty for fuel injection replacement, but it is not applicable to my car. Feels like there is no problem while driving with those 4 warning lights. But who knows some serious problems or accident will happen because of this problem.
I see there is a recall related to a fault that may prevent the rearview camera image from booting up and being displayed on the dash for 2017 - 2020 Fits. While relatively uncommon, this also happens on my 2015 Fit. In addition, sometimes the lane watch feature shows the backup camera instead of the right side of the car when activated. This has happened for 10 years but only a handful of times per year. It generally corrects by shutting the car off and restarting it after a minute. It seems as the problem is not specific to the 2017 - 2020 Fit as I'm also having this issue.
I put a deposit down at a dealership & they sold me a car with issues I have the proof I’m trying to file a complaint on the dealer.

My fuel/mileage dashboard goes off and on, clustering. It started last year and now happens almost everyday. Asked the dealer about issue since I believe it’s a safety concern and my car is still under warranty for 80,000. Since my car is almost to the miles they want me to pay to check it.
While driving my regular commute to work with the radio on, the radio and interior lights (not sure if headlights because I can't see them) flashed on and off and the power steering warning light flashed on and off. At that time, the car jerked and I lost power steering for a moment. This happened several times and the radio stopped working. This did not happen on the way home, but reoccured a few days later. I made an appointment with the dealer they had my car for the day and were not able to locate the issue, but they fixed my radio and told me to bring it back if it happened again. They checked alternator, fuses, and looked for an electrical short. A few weeks later, it happened again, I brought the car back and they could not find the problem, but fixed the radio. The car was fine for a month and it is happening again. Losing power steering while driving is a serious safety hazard for myself and others.

Consistently since I bought the car I have warning lights turn on when nothing is wrong with it. At first it started with the tire pressure light and after owning it for 3 years now, over the past two weeks I've had a ton of warning lights turn on and I've had two mechanics look at it and see nothing wrong with the vehicle. After doing some research online, I've learned that I am not the only 2019 Honda Fit owner who has had this happen, and it seems to be happening in a lot of people's cars.
Paint peeling off hood and doors now after already having the roof repainted under Honda extended warranty. Now dragging feet on honoring paint peeling off the rest of the problem areas.
The odometer is completely useless, unable to tell mileage, fuel level and such. Several reports online of the same issue with Honda Fits. I could run out of gas unexpectedly, I don't know when its time to change oil.
The floor of the driver seat and the floor of the front passenger seat continuously flood after it rains. I have dried the floors with a vacuum and checked for any potential leaks or blockages. However, I cannot find any blockages or leaks that are causing the floors of the car to flood, and it continues to flood after it rains. Besides the floors, nothing else is wet--the seats themselves are dry, and the steering wheel and dashboard all look dry. I am worried this water can lead to the floors rotting or retaining water and having mold--which will be a health concern.
The paint is peeling on the hood of the car between the moon roof and the windshield. There may be more minor paint peeling on the rear hood closer to the hatchback.
The rear door window motors both failed. At the time of this report they are available for inspection. The safety risk is that back seat passengers could become trapped in the event of a water entry which makes doors difficult or impossible to open. Because the rear windows are typically operated less than the front, the average user would not expect that they have failed (especially if the fronts are working) and the failure would likely go unnoticed, possibly until the emergency situation occurs. The vehicle has not been checked or inspected by any dealer, service center, manufacturer, police, insurance representative, or any person other than myself. However, I have checked the fuses and verified with a voltmeter that the switches have power and are operating correctly thus isolating the failure to the motors. There is no warning lamp or message indicating that the window motors are not functional and I did not experience any symptoms other than the window not moving when the switches were depressed. I noticed the left rear failure first in July 2023 and at that time the right rear was still functional. Approximately a month later the right rear failed. I only thought to make this report because when I searched the internet for troubleshooting and replacement parts I found quite a few other accounts of a variety of Honda models with rear window failure many of them were both, and several auto mechanics indicated that this issue was common. Unless the rear doors use different motors than the front doors, it is possible that the root cause is a wiring/electrical problem and electrical problems have a reputation of eventually causing other seemingly unrelated problems elsewhere in the system.

Before I parked, all was fine and the car felt safe, two hours later, I start the car and it has four warning lights on. Now I don't have hill start assist and the car feels like it might 'go out' on me, I think something will keep it from running soon. About two weeks prior, even with keys in the car and with a full battery in both the keys and car, the car doesn't start with the first push of the 'engine start' button (maybe there is a connection here). O'reilly helped me check the codes, and it states that I should replace the ignition coil, as well as the throttle body and it is giving the code, p0303: cylinder 3 misfire detected. After some research online, it seems like the fuel injectors might need to be replaced as the ones that come with Honda tend to malfunction. . Read more...
Breaks, control of vehicle staying in lane -lane departure failure, door locks, auto remote failure, multiple warning lights system failures on dash, vehicle lights. Car has gone off road, right on highway (right lane) and left on highway to middle lane, almost hit other vehicle. Dealer put new batteries in remote (second new set) low battery alert 2 hours later, remote failure. Passed diagnostic scan. (southern Honda, savannah GA) since then the info-system I believe to be hacked. I found VIN number and other "computer" listings in vehicle including WI-fi enable, phone numbers not belonging to me, web sites, etc, I was able to remove and I reset to factory settings twice. The Honda link has now activated itself, selections "grayed out" (I always used apple/car play Honda link was never used. My I phone was then hacked, hackers have complete control remotely over the phone live time, able to see screen and make changes. I am now in atlanta, I contacted dealership here where the vehicle was purchased. I also asked for the Honda link to be turned off and if needed to please turn off/disconnect the system for safety if they are unable to remove/install "non hacking software?". Was told Honda link was not activtated, and I would be responsible for repair charges "if determined not covered under my warranty. Auto is not safe to drive, I do not have finances to pay for repairs, was unable to leave the car. Informed dealership that I looked up Honda link and activation/deactivation requires app/account which I never had nor do I know how to do. Technician indicated he did not know what I was talking about. I need assistance. I cannot receive e-mail hackers intercept.
My doors have defaulted to the lock position, even when the vehicle is occupied. The electronic unlock system will not permit the car to unlock. The manual lock strongly resists being moved to the unlock position. With much force, it can be moved, but immediately relocks. The only way to exit the vehicle is to force the manual lock to unlock while simultaneously pulling the handle to open the door. This is an extreme safety hazard - as one cannot easily exit the vehicle. Upon entering the vehicle, an older driver, a less strong driver, or partially disabled driver would be trapped in their vehicle with only emergency procedures able to free them. If there were an accident, and the airbag were deployed - it would be impossible for an able bodied driver to get both hands to the door and initiate the sequence necessary to exit the car. One would be trapped. An incredibly dangerous situation. I see the door actuator has been recalled on other Honda models - so it is a known issue with the manufacturer. I am currently partiually diasble, and.
