The fuel guage/mileage/mpg display flickers on and off intermittently. Sometimes it displays properly, sometimes it displays gibberish and sometimes nothing at all. There really is no correlations to be made as to why it is doing this, it can happen any day at any time or not at all. 2015 Honda Fit.

Smart power control unit stopped working and had to pay out of pocket over $1200 due to no warranties applicable. Have heard from online forums that this is a very common part malfunction in the 2016 models from Honda and due to the high amount of incidents and for how expensive of a repair this turns out to be the part should be covered by Honda as they already cover the actual on and off switch button.

P0420 code on a 2017 Honda Fit. The vehicle only has 46,000 miles on it. It’s too early for me replace my catalytic converter. I know previous Fit has the same problems but Honda said it was fixed. It’s too expensive to go to the dealership to get it diagnosed properly to look for the problem. I just want this problem figured out before I spend monoey on getting it fixed the right way. Dealership hasn’t diagnosed the vehicle but wanted me to bring the car and get a new catalytic converter and new oxygen sensors. Needs to know what the main problem instead if replacing something that still currently works and no need to replace parts.

My 2017 Honda Fit has pools of water on the floorboards and has mold around the outside edges of the carpet (under the windows). This is the second time this has happened during a heavy rain. The first time I thought maybe I did something wrong or there was a leak somewhere. This time I know that something is going on. There was no windows down, the doors were closed tight, the sunroof was closed and had no water around it. I googled to see if there was a recall or if anyone else is having problems. I found a forum of other people having the same issues. Apparently it’s the door seals. The water is leaking between the inner door panel and the liner. There hasn’t been a recall on this but there should be. The mold is definitely a safety issue and the water damage will ruin the car and the electronics on the door. The electronic odometer and audio control displays will blink on and off, or will display gibberish. The odometer display shows the gas gauge, which if not properly displayed, the car could run out of gas when driving. The audio display shows the car's performance.

We have a recurring hazardous issue with our iphonex plugged into the usb port on our 2018 Fit ex-l Hondalink radio system. Typically after 20 seconds to hours after starting the car with the iphone connected, an itunes song from the phone will start playing spontaneously. And it also almost always occurs soon after using siri on my iphone via the Hondalink system. But sometimes it can happen just driving much later for no reason at all. This is hazardous because on occasions when it suddenly played the music the volume was so loud it scared the driver. So this is a safety issue! I found postings about similar issues online that suggested various iphone settings changes which I tried without success. One posting though simply replaced the Honda radio with a sony aftermarket radio and that did resolve the issue. Today I also spoke with kenya at Hondalink support at 888-528-7876 but she said she found no information about the defect. She suggested I take the car back to the dealer (at my expense).

I got a letter from Honda regarding a recall to my vehicle Honda Fit, I headed to crest Honda dealer, they refused to check it, and sent me back. Then while I was heading home they sent me fake report stating that it’s been checked, and everything works fine, and this didn’t happen, because as mentioned they refused to take the car, so how they checked it while I was driving it back home. And the cameras available can prove that I left with the car immediately.

The dashboard display screen that shows gas gauge, mileage, clock, mph, and oil life glitches on and off, is at times completely blank, and sometimes shows gibberish or incorrect information. Sometimes it works, but over the past 2-3 years it happens progressively more. My vehicle is about 6 years old and the display now work correctly almost never. This is a safety issue because I now have no way of knowing if I am running out of gas because the display most often shows me nothing, and sometimes shows more gas on the gauge that there actually is. This could lead to my vehicle stalling in traffic or leaving me stranded somewhere unsafe. I also seldom can see the milage and oil life, which means I don't have any way to know if my car is due for important service that ensures it is operating safely. A quick internet search into the problem shows that this is a very common issued in Honda Fits over multiple year models, and is also costly to fix, usually requiring replacement of the unit.

I only have 36k miles on this car and the fuel injector has already failed and needs to be replaced.

The cluster doesn’t light up and the speedometer and tachometer don’t work as well. Check engine code u0155 which one of these parts that could potentially fall under this code had been replaced under warranty.

Driver door actuator malfunctioning triggering passenger door and trunk hatch to all to constantly lock and unlock until car reaches about 10 miles per hour. Took to Honda dealership for inspection and confirmed problem. Also confirmed back order for parts to repair for 2 months or more.

Misc - speedometer/guage cluster failed. Speedometer read 70 mph and was pulled over and clocked at 99 mph. The guage that tells fuel amount, mileage, and other important information doesn't read and is scrambled so you have no idea how much fuel you have or when maintenance needs to be done. I have had it looked at by Honda dealership and confirmed that it was a faulty guage cluster. The service department put in a new cluster at the cost of $1180. 50. There were no warnings to let me know that the speedometer was not accurate until I was pulled over. The guage that shows fuel, ect. Has been an issue for close to a year and I have dealt with it and talked to Honda several times with no solution from them. When the speedometer failed 5/29/2022 and was off that much, I definitely felt that it was a dangerous situation to be put in.

Water leak problem at passengers side . Including passenger side airbags area get wet , and sunroof area too . My car is 2016, never been in accident and well maintained, I couldn’t think of any reason to cost water leak . At 5/22/2022 evening time heavy rain, 3 hours parking car outside, passenger side floor almost 2-3inches water . That’s a lot of water.

Major leak in drivers side, causing pool of water near gas and brake pedals. Occurs when it rains and could be coming from door panel where electrical components are.

My car's odometer and fuel display gauge is failing under cold weather. This started happening after just 29k miles. It jitters or displays incomplete numbers, or freezes up. When that happens, I can't see how much fuel I have in the car, for example, or how many miles are on the odometer. This is happening more frequently, which is dangerous.

Undercarriage engine splash shield was hanging loose after getting Honda service. Took it back to dealer and 2 plastic screw put it right. A few days later the front of this shield is now hanging from my car scraping the road. It's labor day weekend. I am afraid this is going to fall off and hit a car behind me. I googled this and it has been an ongoing problem since at least 2015. There were no warning lamps, messages to let me know. I did not hit anything or go into any road debris. It happened on the highway at regular highway speed. This is very concerning to me. I cannot safely drive my car until shops open on Tuesday. It's Saturday.

In mid 2019 my Honda had a little rear end problem. Took it to a frame shop and was told my rear axle beam assembly was bent 3° which was causing front end alignment problems. When they used there machines and whatever else they tried was told there machinery couldn't make it budge. (front end alignment at least 2 times a month) then in 2020 I went to start my car and nothing!! kept trying and trying and finally it started. Continued to what I thought was my car just having a mind of its own to continuously not wanting to start so I checked my battery which was fine. I took the car to a Honda dealership and was told I needed a new battery. Ok fine whatever then after the new battery was hooked up and they went to start it nothing!! hours later here I am buying a starter (fixed the problem till about mid 2021). Oh yeah forgot still have a bent rear axle) !! check charging system has been popping up every time my car decides to start. Gotten to the point where the only way it'll start is if it's jumped. Battery is fine but the alternator isn't pushing out anything whatsoever!!! because it's constantly being jumped my negative battery terminal sensor is going out. Every where I've called or taken the car to either says "nothing we can do" or they want to charge thousands of dollars or " OH MA'am your car is a discontinued model!" I have two little kids and this Honda Fit is just not safe for myself, kids, or anyone else! OH almost forgot abs light along with the keyless entry plus contraction control and steering stabilizer lights are lit up like a christmas tree on the dash.

Safety issue: today while towing the Honda Fit behind our thor gemini on interstate 84 in pennsylvania, I smelled a strong order of burned plastic. When I pulled over to the nearest rest area to investigate, I noticed the smell was emanating from the hood of my Honda Fit. I have pictures that show what I found when I opened the hood (towed battery charger unit melted). Sadly, the fuse that is on this this device did not blow. Even worse, is my Honda Fit is now dead. I have no power to the car at all. The ignition, lights, horn, door alarms no longer work. If I hadn’t pulled over when I did, I fear that the towed battery charger plus would have set my Honda Fit and thor RV on fire. Sent email to dealer/manufacture; rvibrake. Also called their phone number and left a message. At this time dealer has not responded. Part is available for inspection. Part has not yet been inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance company. There was no warning lamp, message or other symptom of the problem. Problem was only noticed because I smelled burning plastic and stopped vehicle to investigate.

The rear (tailgate) window on our 2020 Honda Fit shattered (busted) on its own for no reason. Nothing hit or even touched the car. No other cars were around. No other damage to the car. The car has been parked on the side of road for about 5-10 min. We were staying about 2-3 feet away when we heard a load explosion. Most of the glass held up due to ceramic tint but some glass shards (especially from the corners) were ejected several feet away. Oddly, the substantial cracks were not in the center, but in the corners. This is very concerning because glass shards could cause serious injury. We are grateful we were not in the car when it happened. We are just shocked and cannot understand what could possible cause this. We did some research and became alarmed how many other Honda car owners experienced the same issue. Our car is less than a year old. Given the way the glass shattered, there is no logical explanation to this other than it appears to be a defect in the glass or during the installation of the rear window. We took the car to dealership (paragon Honda) and the dealership refused to cover the cost and insisted we repair through the insurance. The dealership refused even to inspect or investigate, claiming that windows do not shatter on their own. After doing some research, this is clearly not true and appears to be common issue with Honda models. Moreover, the new vehicle limited warranty explicitly provides that it covers "broken, chipped, or scratched window glass" if it is due to defect in material or workmanship. " we will do whatever it's needed to get the window repair, but I urge Honda to investigate this issue because rear windows exploding on their own pause a serious safety concern. I have no doubt if my window was not tinted, we would be hit with glass pieces as we were just a few feet away when it happened. How can Honda ensure this does not happen again? please contact me with any follow-ups. I also have photos of the window.

When driving my 09 Fit my radio went in and out then my steering wheel indicator light popped up next thing I knew my steering wheel locked and felt stiff when trying to turn, kept happening as I drove, it’s happened at least 20 times maybe more in one day!!! I almost crashed because my power steering goes in and out in this car and it feels like I loose complete control of the car!!! it almost verging off on its own it feels like for about 2-3 seconds sometimes it feels like longer that this happens, once the steering wheel light goes away I can regain control. However this is very very dangerous and I do not feel safe driving the car with this is happening randomly when I’m driving !!!! it’s happening to me at low and high speeds and it’s very scary!!!.

On may 22, 2021 I received a letter from Honda to advise me of a recall regarding my 2019 Honda Fit's fuel pump. I am leasing said automobile which lease expires in October, 2022. I tried making an appointment for June 15, 2021 at 2:30pm to have the fuel pump repaired only to receive a voicemail about an hour later from someone at galpin Honda in mission hills (where I am leasing my car from) who said something to the effect that Honda was unable to repair my car because they don't have the parts to replace the fuel pump. I was told I would be receiving a second letter (I was not told when nor what the second letter would consist of).

Digital lcd instrument cluster blanks out or displays gibberish under certain weather conditions. Possibly condensation near fuse box or bad solder joint. This is being reported by multiple owners for models 2015 and up. Problem causes blind driving without knowledge of remaining fuel level or mileage.

My car is a 2015. . . Less than 46,000 miles and car willl not turn on. After reading several threads, it appears that Honda 2015 has faulty staters. Also, the display showing proper gas levels go in and out. This is a safety issue. Many people have complained. Please force a recall.

I received a letter in the mail today (2/8/21) that says there is a recall on my Honda Fit for the drive shaft in salt-belt states. The manufacturer does not have the parts to fix the problem yet - but said in the recall that they would update the recall by 1/15/21. I have not heard anything from Honda. They have not even offered to inspect my vehicle - which is crazy because if the drive shaft breaks I could crash and be killed. Honda should offer all vehicle owners a rental car while they are "preparing replacement parts" so we are not driving on the roads with a car that could kill us or other people. Or they should at least be required to inspect the vehicles draft shafts to see if the corrosion has taken place.

2020 Honda Fit obtained 12-1-20 has been to brandon Honda service dept. 3 times for same problems: 1) won't start 2)starts but with cranking. Service dept told me to drive it "every three days for 30 minutes at normal driving speed, get battery tender". I did both. Car is back at service dept. For same problem. When I went to brandon Honda to pick up car service visit #3, the valet who brought the car to parking lot said he had difficulty starting car. I refused to take car off Honda lot. I now use a Honda loaner vehicle. Currently, the Honda Fit is still at brandon Honda service dept. I have created extensive binder of docs/notes, etc. If/when I get car returned, I have no confidence in my safety while using this car. I have reported this situation to american Honda motor CO. Inc. My case # 12036048.

Honda sent me a notice of the following recall 20v-770. It has been two months and there is no resolution to the issue. The drive shafts on my car could fail. I called Honda and they basically said there's nothing they can do at this time, that I could take it to a dealer to have it looked at, but if something was wrong they couldn't fix my car. When I asked about a rental car if that is the case, they said that that wasn't in their power to do at this time. I know that they can do that because I also went through the air bag recall and was without my car for months while those parts came it. As far as I am concerned, Honda is being negligent because they know something is wrong, that it is dangerous, yet all the cars are still on the road. What if I crash because of this? what if I accidentally kill someone or damage someone's property?this is gross negligence on Honda's part. I want a solution now.

When it is cold outside the gauge cluster fails due to a loose solder connection on the instrument panel circuit board. This is a common and know issue with 2015/2016 Honda Fits.
