I have only 40,000 miles on my 2019 Honda hrv. Due to utilizing the lane assist, my rack and pinion, inner tie rod ends and steering shaft assembly have all came lose. When I drive, I can turn my steering wheel to the right and left one inch and the wheels do not move. I need to move my steering wheel more than an inch for the wheels to engage due to everything being faulty and loose. I believe this stems from the vibration caused in the lane assist. I will now need to do a $2,000+ repair on a element of my vehicle that should last between 100,000 - 150,000 miles where my vehicle is only at 40,000 miles. I do not have invoice for the repair yet as I'm shopping around due to high cost. I have a video showing what the incident is, but the form won't allow me to send videos. I'm happy to send that video in a follow up.

Vehicle has been brought to dealership multiple times due to messages coming up on dashboard stating road departure mitigation system problem. See your dealer and collision mitigation breaking system problem. See your dealer. Each time the car has been taken in the dealership has stated that the problem cannot be duplicated or replicated and no error codes found. Vehicle is operating as manufactured. Detailed have been requested. On one occasion the dealership stated the vehicle would be needed for multiple days but tried to return it the next day. After calls were ignored for days for answer the vehicle was returned covered in ice and windshield wipers not in the proper position. There is believed to be minor damage in the drivers side wiper. After the message came up again the dealership has stated they have exhausted all attempts to diagnose issue and will no longer work on the vehicle. Multiple attempts been made to gain american Honda's participation but they have not proactively participated. The car has also attempted to leave the lane/road on to occasions. This seems connected to the Honda sensing probe NHTSA has expanded to include 2020-2022 Honda cr-v and accord. This message was received yesterday and today upon start up and putting the car into gear.

The vehicle keeps displaying a dashboard notification indicating "road departure mitigation system problem. See your dealer. The vehicle was most recently brought back from the dealer and after about 100 miles the car displayed this message again. The dealer continues to maintain there are no codes found and issue is not duplicated. The vehicle on two occasions has tried to depart the lane on the highway with well marked lanes. I have ask numerous times for more information about attempts to duplicate and what codes should be displayed. This message has shown up around 20 times at this point. This is very concerning and poses a serious safety concern. Photos are from two instances. This message only comes up for a few seconds. The computer is failing to record this and I am being told there is noting that can be done since it cannot be duplicated. I have the photos and have experiences attempts by the vehicle to leave the lane. This is a hazard that could lead to injury or path of an vehicle occupants or general public. Please assist before injury or death occurs. There maybe an effort by both Honda and the dealership to conceal this issue as I do not believe that is not being duplicated even if there are no codes. There being no codes registered is in itself a sign that there is a problem with the computer as there is photographic evidence.
Faulty front camera sensor resulted in all adas systems to not work. (auto braking, auto high beams, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control). Forums have shown that this is an issue across platforms of the hrv, and happens at different mileage of vehicle. Mine happened at around 70k miles. Repair is $1800-$2500.
Around July 2024 my 2019 hrv began displaying warnings regarding the Honda sensing camera and the features associated with it. After spending my own time and money diagnosing the issue, the dealership explained the Honda sensing camera is malfunctioning. Without any further explanation they expected me to pay almost $2,000 to fix it. Now my car will not pass inspection unless I pay out of pocket to fix the malfunctioning camera despite the lack of reasoning. This feature should be removed from Honda vehicles if it is going to malfunction for no reason.
Steering wheel sticks. Need to jerk it out of a what seems like a locked position when driving. Steering wheel jerks while making a clicking sound.
Steering is sticky. Causes erratic steering especially at highway speeds. Dealer inspected an stated it was normal. No lights or warnings. We feel its unsafe and sold it back to the dealer.
I have a 2023 Hr-v 5dr 2wd ex-l 5800k miles - bought 3/18/2023 took my vehicle into my dealership to let them know I am having an issue with my steering as it sticks and then jerks when driving at any speed.
The steering is sticking and jerky without the lane assist, especially when it's cold out. Instead of normal smooth steering correction while driving, it builds up pressure while trying to correct, then it feels like a slip, then a jerk. It makes me feel very unsafe and I always now have to have a firm grip on the wheel.
