Body Problems of Honda HR-V - part 2

Upon entering my parked vehicle today 11/30/23, I got in and closed the driver side door of my 2023 Honda hrv. Immediately I heard a crash and looked behind me to see that my rear windshield had shattered and the middle part was caved in with glad all in the trunk. I got out, inspected the area and there was nothing to indicate why the windshield spontaneously combusted like this. I took it to the dealer I bought it from and no one had seen or heard of this before. Upon searching online, I found several websites where other people have reported the same thing happening, either when the car is parked or while driving. The dealership is currently trying to figure out how to handle this.

While I was driving the rear window suddenly shattered creating a loud thud. Chunks of shattering glass fell into the back section of the car. No foreign object hit the car. This was just a spontaneous event. We often transport our grand children and it is possible that they could have been seriously injured if they would have been in the car at the time. The car is unsafe to drive at this time due to shards of glass still loose. I plan to contact the local Honda dealership and will request a representative to come inspect the damage. Our hrv is still under warranty.

Back window defrost over heats causing back glass to shatter. This is a safety issue causing the driver visual impairment through the back glass. Vehicle has been inspected with the glass replacement. There were no prior warning sensors.

I was sitting at a red light my 3 year old son and the back glass just shattered for no apparent reason! the police came and said it was a manucaturer's defect!.

Today the rear windshield of my 2023 Honda Hr-v shattered instantaneously while the car was parked in my driveway. The car was outside during a cold night and then warm day so I wonder if the temperature change impacted the glass. I see other reports online of rear windshield shattering, but no recall. When I called the service department at the dealer, they were unaware of the issue. I am thankful I wasn't driving the car when it happened which would have been really dangerous, but now I have an undriveable car that's less than a year old with pieces of glass everywhere.

I was driving my Honda hrv on a normal day like any other and had my defroster on and out of no where heard a loud pop and my whole back window shattered.

Rear window shattered randomly on a cool day with the rear defrost on. I was parked and bearded a boom and looked back and my rear window was shattered. No damage to the vehicle, no accident with vehicle, and object thrown at window. The window just shattered randomly. I’ve read this is a common issue with this year and model, I’ve heard the rear defrost overheats and shatters the glass.

My rear windshield shattered out of nowhere. Not driving, car wasn’t turned on yet, temperature outside was about 60 degrees so wasn’t too cold or too hot. No impact.

My rear windshield shattered out of nowhere. My son was in the backseat when it happened. I called the police and they are also confused on how my window shattered, it doesn’t show any puncture or impact of any kind just a shattered window. No warning lights came on before or after. I took my baby to the dealer and they also did not see what could have caused it to shatter. Believe it may be an manufacturing defect.

My rear windshield shattered spontaneously while driving on the freeway. No impact caused this event.

I was driving at night and my rear windshield shattered out of nowhere. I had two passengers in the back seat, and the glass went everywhere. There was no foreign object or extreme temperature that would have caused this.

My wife was sitting in the car at the deli, and the rear glass exploded. She thought it was a gunshot. She ducked down and called 911.

The rear window of our 2023 Honda hrv exploded with no incident whatsoever. We had parked the car on Sunday, July 2, 2023 and taken walk on beach at 7:30 in the morning. When we left at 8:15 we heard a noise from the back as we drove off and looked in rear view mirror to see that the back glass was shattering. Continued to shatter as we made our way back home - 1-1/2 miles. This is a Sunday and will consult with dealership on Monday.

Issues: sunroof leaks heavily: during the rain and in car washes, into the backseat, which is ruined now from the constant leaking this past winter 2022-23 *sunroof replaced 3/2023 continues to leak heavily weather strips: doors lacking weather strips, or the weather strips are so loose and loosely connected, it serves very little purpose, I. E. , the seal attaches loosely to widely spread intermittent hooks, these are not attached securely and leak significantly. Brought to Honda: never repaired steering: severe instability when both turning and accelleration!! very dangerous when making a left hand turn from a stopped position!! this happens daily! body parts: cheaply made, put together incorrectly by the manufacturer Honda in mexico, e. G. , Honda is completely aware of the plethora of body defects, including the sunroof. According to Honda service manager ukiah CA. Brake system: very poor, I would caution the need to slam on the brakes as they take much to long to engage.

While driver 47 mph to work this morning my rear windshield suddenly popped and shattered. I was not under on over hangs or buildings. There were no others cars even around me at the time. I did have the rear defrost on. The whole windshield broke and fell apart.

My car was parking on normal rainy day and my back glass explode.

My hatch has been filling up with lots of water not too long after I began leasing it and it sloshes around, it is in my rear lights, has made the inside light of my hatch no longer work. Now, water is leaking in from both rear windows and somewhere in through the fabric of the inside back roof area creating a growing water stain and mold. Spare tire well in back also fills up with up to 2 inches of water. Mold, rust, electrical problems and more are the result. Honda has not yet taken care of it although I have had a diagnostic and see that it has been reported here multiple times.

My name is [xxx] - currently own Honda hrv. The Honda hrv was purchased late 2017. Recently after service recall by Honda my car was repaired for service recall by Honda dealer dealer - 2 days after rain the front passenger floor area next to driver was flooded with water - I immediately took car back to dealer and told them to look at what was wrong as we never had this problem earlier- the service manager told me that there will be charges to even look at it - which I refused to pay as the car I handed before service recall never had this issue. Now with the rains the passenger area next to driver gets flooded every time and after calling Honda they have not responded so far other than informing that they will look up in to it and call me - this has been frustrating experience as it is raining every day for last few days - so please help ASAP. Also checked on internet as one of my friends who has repair garage told me that had similar issue, so inspite of the fact that several of Honda cars have similar problem and it is all over internet ; how come Honda is not aware of this manufacturing defect. This is an serious issue if water remains inside the car will have mold and the car will not be usable - please inform what should a customer do the car is only 3 to 4 years old with just 33,000 miles on it. The paint on my car has started to chip away and will eventually result in rust. I have contacted Honda multiple times and have heard back zero times.

I tried to swerve to avoid hitting the car in front of me.

The paint on my 2018 Honda Hr-v is chipping on almost every surface of the vehicle. It started on the roof, which has turned into about a 2ft in length surface, and it is now peeling on all 4 doors.

A few months ago I started noticing water swishing in my trunk hatch. I took it to the dealership and they said they can look at it for $129 but they thought it was a bad seal. He asked if it had been in an accident but it hasn�t. I looked on the hrv online forum and there has been many people complaining about this very same thing. I think this should be a defect from the manufacturer and should be repaired or replaced at their cost. It could really cause damage to the hatch or the tail light safety. I bought this vehicle new in 2016.

My incident occurred in January 2020, within 2 weeks of purchase. The car was brand new. I was driving in my parking garage and turning into my parking spot. As I was making the turn to the right, I hit the brakes to slow down. Instead of reducing speed, the car accelerated and hit a cement pole next to my parking spot. The car shut down immediately, but the air bags did not go off. The front end was completely damaged and required extensive repair on the front bumper and grill, front lamps, radiator, and cooling,.

Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Honda Hr-v. The contact stated he noticed a water leak on the rear hatch of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to local dealer regal Honda ( 2615 lakeland hills blvd, lakeland, FL 33805; (863) 232-5671) and was made aware of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired as of yet. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. Dp.

The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000. Gl.

Tl the contact owns a 2019 Honda Hr-v. The contact stated that the driver's and passenger's side front and rear door failed to lock intermittently. Additionally, the automatic brake assist failed to function as designed. The contact stated that on several occasions after going over a bump in the roadway, the instrument panel became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to hertrich Honda of easton (6546 ocean gateway, easton, MD 21601), on several occasions however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

I filled out this form and tried to submit, but saw an error according to your system. I have a paint problem with my 2018 Honda hrv. I see online that there are paint problems with the 2018 hrv, fit, & accord. The recall that I saw was for a different color than my vehicle. What I also saw was that the manufacturer put too thin of a clear coat on the vehicles. The dealership is claiming that my problem is not covered because it is an environmental issue. . . Tree sap or bird droppings, which is the out that has been given to them. Guessing that the manufacturer has told them to use this to disallow claims. This is clearly a manufacturing defect. I have never had a vehicle that has done this because of bird droppings or tree sap. I have only had one vehicle that a maker volunteered to fix. . . That was a Toyota vehicle. Al, of the rest of the manufacturers want to make you take them to court to get resolve. I am giving an estimate of the time/mileage of the notice of the problem.

A total brake failure caused an accident. When pressing the brake pedal, it was rock solid and would not budge. My wife was driving getting off a highway exit when the brakes failed and rear ended an SUV stopped at a stop sign. The accident caused her back injury which still bothers her to this day. The crash wasn't bad enough to deploy the airbags, but car damage was over $5000. This problem also happened to me once and happened once again to her. Thankfully, no accident these other two times. Releasing and attempting to press the brake pedal a few time eventually made the brakes work normally. This was when we finally decided to give up the lease because my wife and I did not feel safe driving the car anymore. The car was only 2 years old and had approximately 10000 miles on it. I as a master auto technician b would guess the problem was likely be caused by something jamming up in the brake booster or master cylinder, but the dealer was never able to duplicate the problem and never replaced anything.

My Honda Hr-v started leaking water while parked. The water that entered the vehicle was substantial (see attached pictures). The water leakage was determined a third party contractor that the dealership hired after failing to detect the source of the leak after having the car for over a month. The water was leaking in through a faulty seal in the windshield above the drivers side door and was traveling down the side curtain air-bag plastic molding and getting behind the dashboard. The water caused electrical damage in the car that made lights and relays start tripping out, eventually the battery died. The car was parked during the incident and I found the damage after rain storm. The carpets also had to be replaced due to being water damaged and possibly lead to mold. The rainstorm that came through was significant, however this problem could have been going on without my knowledge to a lesser extent. Due to the way the water was getting into the car it could be almost undetectable for an extended period of time since all of the damage is hidden by plastic molding. The car was bought brand new from the dealership, never had an accident and never had the windshield replaced. The car was completely stock as far as the affected parts go.

I was rear-ended as I was stationary waiting to make a left hand turn on a highway none of my airbags deployed my car is a total loss. Fault the 17 year was tailgating a tractor and slammed into my car. Police came I was transported to a local hospital.

Found water leaking inside driver side on the floor. Took the vehicle to victory Honda of Plymouth dealership. They found 0tfrt 841199 lower apillar inner body plug missing. Replaced plug. Seems to be common issue with Honda vehicles. Somebody needs to investigate due to being so close to the fuse box. Can be safety concern.

The rear hatch door has water inside of it. Both taillights have condensation in them and you can hear water sloshing around when you open and close the door. Electrical components have started to malfunction due to the water and Honda doesn't care because the warranty has expired.
