I was driving down the highway, with no one in front of me, and my car alerted brake and brought my car from 70 to an almost complete stop. This jerked myself and my passenger and caused a heat mark from the seat belt on my collar bone. It has done it multiple times since then. I'm terrified to be in traffic and for it to do this. This is most definitely putting my safety at risk, and the safety of others. I have not taken it to the dealership yet.

April 17, 2024. Feds expands investigation into Honda’s automatic emergency braking system. “brake” flashes on the dash. As shown in your article. Insight slows down for no reason. I’m a very cautious driver and around my surroundings. No accidents not told to my dealer or manufacturer. What would they do? keep me in the waiting room for hours. Then tell me there is nothing wrong. No prior messages before hand. I maintained my vehicle in perfect condition. 14k miles. 2 years old on may 1, 2024. Garaged. My vehicle has this happen all the time. Usually when traveling under 40 mph. In city driving. No vehicles are ahead of me. Thank you.

I drove into my friends driveway with my foot on the brake to drop her off. All of a sudden my car lurched forward damaging my friends garage door and the foundation of her house. I had zero control of the car at that point. I plan on notifying Honda. There were no warning lights, or messages prior to this disaster.

Intermittently the car’s forward collision warning will flash and occasionally start applying the brake without any other vehicles or obstacles in front of me.

Driving the vehicle between 60 and 65 mph on a straight 4 lane divided highway with no oncoming traffic and no obstacles in the road, the emergency braking system triggered the audible and visual warnings and engaged emergency braking in the middle of the highway. There were no vehicles in front of the vehicle, there were no road hazards and the roadway was straight. Other vehicles needed to take evasive action to avoid a collision during the unnecessary braking and while regaining speed after the system deactivated. The vehicle has been inspected and no fault codes were found. This is the second occurrence of the issue. The manufacturer was notified after the first instance and was inspected at a Honda dealer. No action to repair or troubleshoot the issue has been taken by Honda following the first reported issue.
I have had 6 times where the collision warning has slammed on the brakes when there is no vehicles on the road in front of me. This is very dangerous when vehicles are behind you. I'm afraid that this car is going to cause a reck and get me and my wife hurt. A device that is supposed to help you has the ability to get you hurt. The dealer said that they were unable to get it to do it, and that if I was afraid of it that I could turn it off. Dosen't that defeat the purpose of getting it in the first place. I think Honda is just trying to sweep it under the table. Who knows how many other vehicles they have out there with this problem.
I have had 2 occasions when I experienced inadvertent spontaneous braking. Both times there was no vehicle in front of me. Both times the car stopped completely while driving in the city between 25 to 35mph. Fortunately there was no vehicle behind me either time and I did not sustain any injuries.
Very occasionally the car collision avoidance systems kicks in erratically. The car brakes automatically to reduce speed substantially. This can be very dangerous because someone might hit from the back. This has happened to me on city streets as well as the highway. I think it might be due to the collison sensor missclassifying signboards or overhead bridges as humans or cars.
Damage to the power steering linkage cable and oxygen sensor caused all adas systems to be offline including power steering. If this unit were to be damaged just enough and fail while driving this will likely result in a crash/collision as the car becomes completely undrivable. Luckily so far, this has happened when the vehicle was parked and did not cause any injury. I feel the vehicle is unsafe until they fix this issue. It has happened 3 times now and nothing seems to be being done about this issue as of yet from Honda. This was brought forward to Honda's attention with no affirmation that this is a problem. It first happened in September last year and has happened two additional times since.
