Yes when I purchased the vehicle I was missing a few fuses, my back left door won't open or close on my car display it always shows that the back left door is always open. Also the car was missing a break pad on the front left wheel. It's also missing the passenger airbag. The dvd player doesn't work it always says error. And the car is missing all motor mounts so basically my motor is just hanging on top of cables in my car. The gps display was also missing and my front right window doesn't close all the way up. The major #1 issue is the electrical problems in my car. I have 2 children I'm scared on day everything is fine & then one day it's not with my kids in the car god forbid. Oh yeah and the middle row left seat doesn't lean forward or back.

The abs brakes perform normally 90% of the time . However at least once during a trip usually at 5 or 10 mph speed I step on the brakes and must floor them with extreme pressure to get them to work . I end up stopping 5 to 10 feet past where I should . The remainder of a trip the brakes seem to behave normally . No brake warnings appear on the dash and my fluid level is normal with no visible leaks .
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. While driving approximately 30 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle did not stop. While driving during rush hour traffic the vehicle suddenly without warning began to apply the brakes and the engine idled down then temporarily seemed normal only to have it reoccur in a matter of seconds. The vsa light including the symbol and the initials vsa became illuminated. I turned the car off and restarted it multiple times only to have it reoccur over and over again. I had just had the catalytic converter replaced for a second time two weeks prior to this happening. I was told by the dealer that in replacing the catalytic converter the service crew punctured my radiator and had to replace that as well. I had the car towed to the dealer who told me the vsa senor control cluster needed to be replaced. They said that they had never seen this before. They indicated that the part would take a week and a half to get the part which seems very strange. The cost for the part is $500 and the installation will be $276. 25.
The brakes on this car never worked well. They screached and squealled and were slow to respond. Despite many trips to the dealer and mechanics, they insisted nothing was wrong. I rear ended someone coming down a hill because I was unable to brake. The difference in speed must have been at least 35 mph. My airbags did not go off. I hit the seatbelt way too hard. The car in front of me did have his airbags go off.
Vsa (vehicle stability assist) modulator failed upon engine start up in a Honda Odyssey Mini-van with just over 19,000 total miles. Downloaded diagnostic code confirmed failure of the vsa modulator. Vsa failure also means loss of abs function on the brakes. Component price is nearly $1000. This is a very expensive component failure after very little actual use of the van. Vehicle is out of warranty based on elapsed time. Research indicates that early (low mileage) vsa modulator failures are very common in Honda Odysseys and other Honda vehicles.
This is a potential fix for the brake grinding complaints in summer while braking on a downward slope. It happens to my 2005 Honda Odyssey touring frequently too. It happened in the morning of June 1 2012 and when I got home, I power washed my vehicle, including the wheels which were dirty with brake dust. When I braked on the same hill two hours later, no grinding and no fading of brakes. Hope this continues to work and helps others.
Faulty vsa modulator / abs pump. The vsa indicator light stays on and diag check by dealer shows error codes 76-1 and 66-1. The advise is to replace the modulator. This equipment is already proven faulty in similar Honda models (odyssey 2007-2008) and recalled. Honda Odyssey 2005 also needs to be recalled. Customers should not be forced to spend a couple of thousand dollars for this.
2005 Honda Odyssey. Consumer requests reimbursement the consumer stated there was a humming noise coming from the rear brakes. The dealer resurfaced both rear parking brake drums and the disc brakes.
Spongy brakes with loss of brakes.
The Odyssey vsa light went on in August 2010. When I took my vehicle to the brighton Honda dealership in mi, they said I needed to have my vsa modulator assembly replaced for the price of $1257. 44. I was told by a mechanical engineer that this should not have occurred at this low mileage. I contacted Honda automobile division in torrance, CA last month. I was told that since my car was no longer under warranty they would not cover it, however, they would go 50/50.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. While driving approximately 30 mph the contact was applying pressure to the brakes when he heard a scratching sound. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The noise was intermittent and was heard during the summer months. When the weather was cold the contact would not hear the noise. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.
At least several times my wife and I have been scared with the performance of my brakes on Honda Odyssey 2005. There is no recall, so nothing I can do. When going down the hill and stopping at the stop sign (pushing the brake pedal), brakes seem to grab at first and then let go for about a second for some unknown reason. After this brakes grab again and seem to work just fine, as though nothing happened. This really scares me and my wife when it happens.
There are times when I press the brake pedal and the car surges forward. This has happened at least 5 times in the last two weeks. I took it into mahwah Honda and they checked the car and the error codes and found no problem. . It feels as though the accelerator was being pressed. Both my wife and I experienced this problem at different times when we were driving and coming to a stop.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. While turning the vehicle at 10 mph, the brakes made a loud squeaking sound when they were depressed. The vehicle has been diagnosed by the dealer several times, but it is still experiencing the same failure. Whenever the vehicle is driven over 60 mph, the steering wheel begins to vibrate. The vehicle has been diagnosed by the dealer several times for this failure as well. The current mileage was 31,000 and failure mileage was 27,000. Updated 07/15/08. Updated 07/15/08.
Shimmy in front end when applying brakes on downhill. Honda advised: caused by brake wearing. Honda replaced front brakes and resurfaced rotors , 32,310 miles. Now, 14,000 miles later, shimmy occurring on downhills when applying brakes. This is very unsafe especially to older or inexperienced drivers. I have been driving for over 55 years; I'm 74 years old. . . And I do know cars and engines, and have not had a vehicle with a shimmy since I was a kid! first occurred June 07 and started again 828/08. . Yesterday.
Loss of brakes moving foreword slowly after backing up a number of times at a sun city posse garage sale. I knocked down a table but no injuries this is the second time I have lost braking moving very slowly(less than 5 mph) but I can not account for the details the first time. There were many posse witnesses.
: the contact stated while making u-turns, at 5 mph, a noise was heard coming from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the brake clip on the passenger front was replaced. The noise persisted and the dealer replaced the steering pump on a second visit. The replacement of the steering pump did not remedy the problem and the vehicle has not been returned to the dealer for further inspection. The driver side door did not close properly, the right side door seal was broke. Updated 05/23/06.
Most recent on 1/7/2006 while backing out of garage brakes were applied and complete failure. Pumped 2 or 3 times and brakes worked. This has happened about 5 other times, always at a slow speed, usually while approaching a turn, twice while pulling up to our driveway. Pumping brake several times brings full braking power back. Took vehicle to dealership where vehicle was purchased and they were unable to duplicate the problem after having the vehicle for a day and a half. Ast. Service manager claimed that there had been no other complaints of failures known to him.
We bought our 2005 Odyssey in November of 2004. We have had constant grinding/scraping noises with the front brakes. This has happened since the day we bought the vehicle. We took it to the dealership in 2005 and they could not duplicate the problem. The problem is intermittent and tends to happen when traveling down hill and coming to a stop. The noise is god awful!!! NHTSA needs to conduct an investigation into this problem as there are several complaints on file.
When I apply the brakes fairly hard (but not slamming the pedal to the floor), the front brakes sound like they are grinding. I have taken it back to the Honda dealer twice with this complaint and they said they hear this complaint regularly and are waiting on Honda to address it. The dealer claims there is nothing they can do.
2005 Odyssey had a increase in braking distance. ***** the vehicle would stop far short of the consumers intended stop. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle would produce a low frequency noise while in low gear.
