My van caught on fire but was not listed as recalled in 2014. It started to smell funny and when I pulled over, the engine compartment was already in flames.
While driving my 2007 model Honda odessey, on June 5th 2018 without any warning signs, vehicle shut off, dash went off. Tried to apply brake, it didn't work. Somehow managed to put the park gear to pull over to a left turn line to avoid collision with other vehicles on the road. 911 was alerted since the vehicle was blocking the left turn line and was not able to even open the door to come out of the van. After few minutes I was able to turn it on and there was no engine sign. No injuries or damage was sustained. I continued driving the van home. After two weeks the engine sign came up and we took it to the Honda authorized dealership. They couldn't find anything wrong which causes this engine shutdown abruptly. They were unable to duplicate the problem. After two days the battery went down. So we replaced the battery with a new one. On July 21, my cousin was driving the van and the same happened again. He pulled over to the side and after few attempts it started again and he rode back and parked at his house. On July 24th, we tried to turn it on but the battery was down. We jump started it on 27th and took it to the same dealership. They kept it doing several tests until July 31st and found nothing wrong with it. They ok'd us to take the vehicle since they couldn't duplicate the issue . We are very much concerned to ride it again fear of safety to our own life and the other innocent fellows on the road. We reported the Honda customer service and they suggested to take it to another dealership. They are not willing to take any responsibility if something happens when we drive the van. We searched online and found few others has reported the same kind of incidents for the same model but different year. I am requesting NHTSA investigate on this issue and give your recommendations.
My Honda Odyssey shuts off completely while driving, at that time you can't turn the steering wheel (or it is very very hard to turn). This is preceded by usually the lights on dashboards flashing. Sometimes it will shut off (dashboard will go black) and come right back after few seconds. Other times the I have to stop and turn it on again and it works. Yesterday it turned off and the car came to stop then I moved the battery little and the hazard light started flashing. When it's completely dead even hazard light would not blink. Today it happened again and even after moving the battery it did not get power back. I had left the hazard light on but it was not blinking. However after around 5 minutes or so on it's own the hazard light started blinking and I could drive off.
Not sure of recalls but what I fo know is danbury auto of danbury CT. Sold me this Mini van at tge rnd of novrmber 2017 almodt immediately I needed power steering pump which bn I replaced in the process I had a diagnostic test done at Honda of hartford CT. Which thry told me th as t I had a rack and pinion leak they slso told thisis a problem for this van a week later my my driver side passenger side sliding door stop working also my passenger side back sliding door was partially working which I feel is hazardous if you are in a accident I went to a couple places they couldnt fix it each one said this is a problem has been a bad problem for the 2004-2010 models then I contacted dealership they also said the same thing I asked about replacing rollers and motof they told me its a deeper issue dont wate your money on it ! I just dont see how this issue wasnt on recall ehen its clearly dangerous and its thousands of complaints on this issue I nought this for me and my grandkids and every since I bought I havent been able to have them ride but once because li dont want them trapped in a emergency !!also the driver s iy DE axle needs replaced I found that this is also a issue with the axles as well bascially this van has many issues thst had sufficient complaints and concern thst can result in death that was addressed and I dont understand why although ni realize all automobiles has issues but these are bad and life threatening being trapped in a car or having to drive hit a bump and tire brakes off.
On July 15, 2017 we were loading the van for vacation and the passenger sliding door fell off, landing on my 14 year daughters leg/foot. On August 28, 2017 my son went to unlock the van and pressed the sliding door opener by accident, the passenger door again fell off. The door fell off on top of my 8 year old son. The kids were therefore late for their first day of school. When the door fell off, it bent the track and scratched the whole passenger back side of my van. While my daughter and I tried putting the door back on the door slipped out of the track again and damaged the front passenger door, denting the bottom of the front passenger door. That afternoon I went to the Honda dealer in grandville michigan and talked to randy howes. He refused to listen to me and directed me to look in the manual and contact Honda. So I called the 1-800 number in my manual. I retold what had happened and was told this was a serious incident and that I would hear back with in 2 days. After a week a began calling again, I finally received a call back from rio wardana from Honda. I retold him again what had happened and told him I wanted the door fixed and the damaged fixed that the door caused. He was very disrespectful and told me he had never heard of any door falling off a Honda van. I informed him of the 100s of complaints on line but he refused to listen. I was told the door falling off was my fault and not Hondas. I asked him what to do because the other door was acting funny as well. He said to use the hatch back door for entering if I needed to and he hung up on me. I have been battling Honda ever since and can get no where. My door is not dangerous. I cannot have my children near it with the fear of it falling off again and I can find no one to help me with this case. Please tell me what to do to hold Honda accountable for their vehicle safety concern!!.
I am still waiting to recall to be fixed. It is showing check engine light.
Air bag , transmission, fuel cap always on ,doors electric problems ,vehicle stability off not working.
My vehicle has a strong gassy smell when I start it up. Both my passenger doors have fallen off the hinges while stationery and my check fuel cap light constantly flashes while in motion.
Today 10/5/15, went to come work and I noticed the outside temp was not working. The intermittent wipers not working. . . Only worked on high. The rear wiper was not working. The fluid would not work either. The lights would not go on high, were only dim. The turn signals would not work. The defrost did not work either. When I got to work I attempted to open rear passenger door and it did not open either. The doors would not lock automatically with remote or door lock control on drivers door. I didn't attempt to open windows because of the weather. Now it is has been raining pretty much non-stop since 10/1. Fuses seem to be ok.
While driving the electrical system seem to blink out and come back on. All electrical parts seem to be affectected.

Purchased 6/8/15 from cos central auto, meriden, CT. On 6/18/15 at 9:00 am vehicle was left at central parking sp garage at 800 avenue of the americas (corner of 28th and 6th) NY manhattan, NY. At approximately 6:00 pm. Owner thomas j. Servidone went to pick up vehicle and was informed that vehicle had caught on fire while being parked (stationary) there for the day.
My passenger and rear windows no longer roll down. My doors no longer a unlock from the drivers door. My passage sliding door no longer opens.
I was driving to a supermarket, I pulled into parking lot and then I saw a lot of smoke coming under the hood, I had my three children inside the car and in minutes my car was totalled completely burned. Honda should pay my van, none noticed any problem before. Side doors won't open at the moment of the fire, very dangerous design for an emergency like this, imagine I mother with child on a car seat and not having acces to the rear seats, when this dangerous situation takes minutes to burn the entire vehicle.
2007 Honda Odyssey drivers side rear door will not open manually or elect. Tried inside and outside have checked the gas entry flap and switches no problems there. My problem is a safety issue. My wife transports our grand children, the child's car seat has been moved to the passenger side if something were to happen there would be no escape for them. I need an answer. I see there are a lot of complaints on line the dealers haven't been able to fix the problems they re-surface a short time later. This has to be a design flaw, the mechanical should always be able to override the system for safety. I would like to here from someone concerning this problem. This is a death trap.
The passenger side power sliding rear door began intermittently having issues closing-it would close about 75% of the way, then beep as it does if there is an object blocking it's path, then open back up. I would have to pull the door to help guide it closed. Before I could get it to the Honda dealer, the driver side power sliding rear door began doing something similar. It would close only about 90%, but I was unable to pull it fully closed. I flipped the switch to turn the doors from power operation to manual operation, thinking everything would be ok. I was able to get the driver side sliding door closed manually. However, when we arrived at our destination, I tried to open the passenger side sliding door (switch was still in the manual position), and was only able to open it about 8-10 inches. I could not get my 2 yr old daughter out of her car seat. I pushed with all of my strength, and it would not budge. I ran back around, flipped the switch back to auto, and was able to get the door open that way. However, this ordeal has shown me a severe safety flaw with the power sliding doors on the 2007 Odyssey. If we had been in a situation where the vehicle was on fire--possibly from the now recalled fuel mechanism that can catch fire--I would not have been able to get them out. In an emergency, when every second counts, the door issue could literally have made the difference between life and death. My husband looked at the door that evening, and he, too, was unable to get the passenger side door to budge when set to manual operation. He had to lift the back of it and pull it open. Also, he looked at the drivers side sliding door and noticed metal shavings on the door where metal had literally been grinding on metal. The roller mechanism is no longer working. I am taking it in to my local Honda dealer.

Passenger sliding door automatically opened while vehicle was in motion, exposing my 5 year old to serious injury. This is the 3rd occurrence. Baierl Honda of wexford PA cannot identify any faults even though the vehicle has been taken to them on several occasions.
My tenant's 2007 Honda Odyssey burnt in the driveway next to the deck. The fire department said it was an electric fire on the passenger side of the engine. The car had not been for 3 days. Does Honda have any liability for my damages, over the insurance deductible? the damage was close to $2500. I had a $1,000. Ded. It seems the insurance company just writes if off. How can I get help from Honda for my loss. The tenant says he had lost on van and contents. Should I contact Honda (how) should I contract his car insurance? if his car hit the house I guess car insurance would for the deck. Carmela stapleton bradley beach NJ.

Drivers side window works but all 3 passenger windows stopped working. Windows will not work from drivers control or from individual window controls. Child safety is not engaged and control is unlocked on drivers side. I have seen dozens of complaints on-line about this problem; seems Honda should take care of a problem that is occurring in great numbers across many older and newer Odyssey models.
