general problems of the 2007 Honda Odyssey - part 1

The passenger side back door kept forcing itself back open and/or closed. Depending whether we were trying to open or close the door. When it would force itself shut it has almost shut my head in the door. The door opened and then didn't stop and completely fell off the track and fell off. The door has always made an awful grinding sound when opening and closing.

Vsa light and abs came on and all power lost while driving down road in heavy traffic.

My vsa light wont go off and now my brake light is on also im scared my van is going to brake or stop working properly.

As coning from the store one afternoon June 20 2020 smoke stared to came out from the engine compartment later ones open hood fire stared to come from alternator quick when to get water and dump rigth at it this was the first time very concern because childrens where at van at that moment which is a big concern after replace alternator totally burn we replace now in 11/27/20 it happen again.

Sliding doors won't lock the sliding door will just pop open again. Have child lock engaged and door locked from inside. I have found about 40 cars with this problem in just columbus ohio alone that are 2007. The cost to repair is 500$ which is failing most of the youtube videos are showing.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while the vehicle was park in the parking lot at her apartment complex. The contact neighbor noticed smoke coming from the hood of the contact vehicle. Moments later the fire department arrived at the seen informed the contact that her vehicle caught on fire without warning light illuminated. A police report was filed. The fire department failed a report. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was deemed totaled. No injury. No medical attention contacted. The fire department is unsure of the cause of the failure. And referenced the power steering pump as the failure. The dealer was not informed of the failure. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 180,000. Ck.

When I go to pass or accelerate my vehicles brake feel they are being activated or something is misfiring. This happens every time I drive my vehicle. There is a recall on the vsa for 2007 Honda Odysseys already but mine is not included in this recall but I think differently. After this happens while I'm driving the vsa light stays illuminated which makes me presume it has something to do with the recall. What do I need to do to verify that mine is indeed not a part of this recall or have it fixed properly under this recall?.

The vehicle makes a shuddering sound on start and has problems in shifting gears. The noise can be heard even while driving on the street. . Please advise as to is there any transmission problem in the vehicle. It has only 76000 miles on it and driven singlehandedly.

Vsa light is on and having problems breaking. As well as not wanting shift past gear 3 or go more than 20mph.

My back passengerdoor been acting up since I bought my 2007 Honda Odyssey I will hit the button to open the passengerback door it will start opening and all a sudden it will just start shuttingon peoplei have to hit the button to stop it from shutting on people and when my fuelget down to a quarter of a tank my fuel pump start making a weird sound until I fill my tank up with fuel then when it get low again it start making the sound again and I have had my 2007 Honda Odyssey for a little over a year now and I have already change my brakes 3 times already and change my rotors once.

My van caught on fire but was not listed as recalled in 2014. It started to smell funny and when I pulled over, the engine compartment was already in flames.

Sliding door with not latch and battier does not charge.

Vsa recall. . I took my vehicle in a couple years ago about this recall and now the light comes on here and there and the vehicle don't have to be in rolling action. I was told it was a software recall but now the light comes on here and there. I would like for someone to look into this matter and contact me. ,.

I am still waiting to recall to be fixed. It is showing check engine light.

The sliding door on my Odyssey fell off. It literally fell off right onto my body while I was pumping gas. Not only did this cause physical harm to my person, but it resulted in substantial body damage to the vehicle panel.

Motor mount failure.

My tailgate is powered. It opens up and than it closes on its own. It almost injured my wife. It looks like Honda has recall for 2008 and 2009 Odyssey but it is the same problem on 2007 Odyssey touring.

On several occassions I'm having to put my vehicle in drive and start moving before my side doors which are automatic on my 07 Honda Odyssey ex to close. They haven't been closing properly for the last few months and I have children at times in my vehicle which is very unsafe.

I was involved in a three car accident. I was the third car, we were leaving from a traffic light on highway maryland 301 that just turned green. According to the driver of the second car, driver of car one slammed on her brakes after taking off. I than ran into car number two. I sustained front end damage and my air bags did not deploy.

The power windows are not rolling down on the passenger side and the back windows. Only the driver side windows are getting rolled down. We live in florida and during the day time, it is very hot and needs to roll down the windows to escape from the extreme heat. But because of this problem, it is very difficult. It is becoming difficult with the kids. I see similar issue happening with most of the Honda Odyssey owners.

I have owned my vehicle for 4 years now and since it was first purchased it has been hand washed and detailed. I have now encounter my paint peeling in places where there has been no damage to the vehicle and rust in places where there has been damage as well. In researching this model year vehicle I have found that this is the number one complaint for this car. I am wondering why there has been no recalls for this. I spoke with Honda but they informed me that because my vehicle wasn't the color they recalled previously they could nothing about it. I don't believe that and I and my parents have been loyal Honda customers for 15 years yet there are not willing to do anything for me. I would like this resolved and be able to have my paint repaired before I have more problems down the road.

We own an Odyssey and crv. Both of them have a problem with the heat shield rusting and making noises when accelerating. The only way to replace it is to replace the catalytic converter, which is very expensive. In researching this online it looks like many other Honda owners with all different makes and models have experienced this problem. Has this been investigated? the other option is to remove this heat shield but it sounds like this could cause a fire if you park on grass or it could damage the other car parts in close proximity to the converter. .

I was driving to a supermarket, I pulled into parking lot and then I saw a lot of smoke coming under the hood, I had my three children inside the car and in minutes my car was totalled completely burned. Honda should pay my van, none noticed any problem before. Side doors won't open at the moment of the fire, very dangerous design for an emergency like this, imagine I mother with child on a car seat and not having acces to the rear seats, when this dangerous situation takes minutes to burn the entire vehicle.

I was driving on a highway access ramp when suddenly heard an explosion/gun type sound from the top of the Mini-van (honday Odyssey 2007). I exited the highway and found that the sun roof glass had shattered to pieces. I was not under an overpass and only one low profile car was slightly behind me when this happened so do not believe that this was caused by another car. Glass is lifted upwards on the edges. Temperature was around 50 deg f.

My ten year old daughter was nearly choked by the window in the door (passenger side) of my 2007 Honda Odyssey after the ignition was turned off. The car had just been turned off when she stuck her head out of the open window and another child mistakenly closed the window and it closed on her neck. I was still in the car and was able to restart and open the window within a few seconds so she was not seriously injured. However, had I immediately exited the car after turning it off I'm horrified to think what might have happened.

Hi we purchased thias van a few months back as a used car and im really scared since it has few recalls on this car I have 3 kids im im not going to risk any tipe of incident with the recalls this car has I was wondering if I can get support to exchange this car.

I had Honda Odyssey 2007 at 53,000 miles air compressor went out I am using this car only weekend. I believe they should be last longer than that. I checked on internet a lot of owners had same problem. Thanks for your help nguyen, tom.

A/c compressor non-functional.

Returned to the car after shopping. Opened the tailgate for loading groceries. Tailgate closed without warning. Fortunately, no one was under and no one was injuried. Afterward, tailgate would not stay open. Struts failure was the reason. Struts failure without warning is a big safety risk because the tailgate is very heavy, and could cause severe injuries if someone is under.

Today while slowly pulling into a parking space, my 2007 Odyssey suddenly accelerated on its own. I had just taken my foot off the brake and let the car coast forward a little before I parked it when it lurched forward. I was able to hit the brakes hard and stop it quickly before any damage was done, but I was very shaken up and afraid to drive home. I called the dealer and will have the car towed for examination.

Passenger sliding door automatically opened while vehicle was in motion, exposing my 5 year old to serious injury. This is the 3rd occurrence. Baierl Honda of wexford PA cannot identify any faults even though the vehicle has been taken to them on several occasions.

Liftgate struts failure. I just wanted to make you aware of the danger when a liftgate strut failed without any warning or indication of failure. My Odyssey 2007 liftgate was working fine on Saturday but then completely failed on Sunday. It just drops from an open position. I'm glad that no one gets hurt. When I try to lift it again, the strut would not hold the tailgate open anymore. I reported to Honda dealer and was told that there was no recall for 2007 model but there was a recall for 2008 and up. I will suggest that you also check the strut on models 2005 and up as it looks like there a lot of complain strut failure on these year model as well when you go to odyclub. Com which is a forum for Honda Odyssey owners. I will replace mine and not wait for Honda to take ownership on this failure but I am still reporting this in hope that no one will get hurt if Honda continues to ignore this issue. Liftgate struts failure can cause injury or even death especially to small adults and children.

My daugher and I heard a clicking noise coming from the back of my van and opened up my tailgate to see where the noise was coming from. The tailgate was working but a clicking noise was coming from the strut on the left. Both my six year old and I were under the tailgate at the time trying to figure out where the clicking noise was coming from. Ten minutes later the strut failed. It would no longer stay open at all and slammed down instead of staying open. Had my daughter and/or I had been under it at the time of failure, we would have been seriously injured. This is a very unsafe situation for a family vehicle. It is common for both of my children and I to unpack items from the van and it sickens me that this problem has happened before on Honda oddessey vans!.

Yesterday my three year old had 3 of his teeth nearly ripped out of his head by an integrated sunshade in the sliding door of my 2007 Honda Odyssey. By nearly ripped out I mean they got caught in the thing when the door was opening. . . The door didn't stop opening and it caused his teeth to stick straight out of his mouth (moved almost 90 degrees upward). The window was completely up and the windows are tinted in the rear of the Odyssey's so I couldn't see him holding (and apparently biting) the sunshade while approaching the rear passenger sliding door. I would not have opened the door knowing it was in his mouth. I applied pressure and got his teeth to go back in place and took him to the dentist. We are on a wait-and-see scenario with whether or not my child will lose his teeth. I inquired, with Honda vehicles, if there was any sort of lock for this sunshade and why there isn't a sensor to indicate something is tugging on the doors. He told me there is no product that can lock the sunshade in the retracted position to prevent injuries, didn't comment on the sensors, and told me to move my child to the back seat of the van.
