The tail gate lift was working fine one day and on the next day the tail gate hit my wife in the head. This is very dangerous as this happened with no warning. Honda must fix this matter because this is very dangerous.

Whenever I brake from about 70mph, the steering wheel rattles to a point that I have to hold it with two hands. I've research online and many people seem to have the same problem but without a resolution. Please look into this issue before it cause major accidents.

38 Equipment problem

The car is a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The rear tailgate struts failed to hold the tailgate open and hit my wife's back. This issue happened on Jan. 2013.

Failure Date: 04/02/2011

The stabilus stay assemble tailgate open num 74820-sju-a012 failed and let the tailgate door fall. It almost hit me on the head. Since then it fails to hold the tailgate door open on the Honda Odyssey ex-l . 2007.

40 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2011

Our 2007 Honda Odyssey liftgate gas struts both failed with no warning on March 1, 2011. This is very dangerous because it slammed down and could have hurt someone. Seems this is a common occurrence with Odysseys made in the last 10 years. I have had other vehicles with liftgates and none have failed. Honda should fix this as a safety issue before someone gets hurt.

41 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2010

I have a 2007 ex with 13,000 miles and both of the tailgate (hatch) struts just failed suddently on 08/15/2010. There should be some additional safety mechanism on these so that they just don't collapse and cause harm (the hatch almost slam my 7-years old son on the head). Both can not go bad at one time and either one should support some weight. It is quite dangerous. These liftgate struts should be recalled before bad things happen. Honda should stand behind what they put in these cars.

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2010

We are owners of 2007 Honda Odyssey (VIN # [xxx] ). On July 13, 2010 as we were pulling into a parking lot, the right hand side back window suddenly exploded. The vehicle was traveling less than 5 per hour when this happened. Although four kids and one adult were in the vehicle at the time, no one was injured. We immediately reported the incident to the law enforcement (rpt # [xxx] with city of columbus div. Of police). The police searched for any foreign object that may have hit the window. They found nothing inside or outside of the vehicle. Although we have been experiencing temperature in the high 80's low 90's, it was in the 70's low 80's on that day. When we researched this issue on-line for similar incidents, there were numerous complaints with rear window exploding. We notified the local Honda dealership immediately for potentially defective windows. Although they indicated no specific complaint specific to right back window, they said Honda of America will be contacted and will get back with us. We have three kids under six years of age who primarily get transported with this vehicle. To ensure the safety of our family, we request the safety concern with the window be addressed ASAP. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

44 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2008

The vehicle we are reporting an issue with is a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The car was purchased last October so it is less then 1 year old and has less then 5,000 miles on it. On Tuesday 8/12/2008 the sliding door on the driver side of the car closed on my 2 year olds hand. The door malfunctioned in 2 ways a) the door has a sensor built in that if it meets resistance it bounces back open. In this case the door did not bounce back open as it should have and closed on my kids hand. B) once the door had already closed on his hand we could not get it to open back up and my kids hand was still stuck in the door. The door would not open no matter how many times we hit the open button or pulled on the handle. We had to call the police for help who in turn sent the fire department. The fire department was not able to get the door to open either even with 4 big guys pulling on it, the fire man had to use a crow bar to force the door open. We took my son to the hospital for xrays and they said that due to his age it is the only reason he has no broken bones (at age 2 the bones are still soft and able to flex) they do suspect he might have some fractures so they put him in a soft cast and told us to schedule a visit with a hand surgeon to inspect the hand to make sure there are no fractures and to check his growth palates. The fireman, hospital, and doctors all told us the same thing that if it had been my 6 or 4 year old whose hand got stuck we would have been dealing with broken bones. Now that this has happened to us I did a search on line and see that other people have had similar problems with the sliding doors on Honda Odyssey's all the way back to 2000. This is an issue that Honda has gotten away with up until now. Honda needs to take care of this issues that they know about and not sweep it under the rug.

45 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/29/2008

A rock damage my 2007 Honda causing freon to leak out. Honda dealer estimated that it will cost $800 to fix this. I believe that this is a design flaw with the condenser that Honda should recall. I could understand that a rock damage a windshield, but not some part in the engine. . Read more...

46 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2007

I purchased the vehicle referenced above in 2007 from hudson Honda and about 6 months after the purchase, I began having acceleration problems with the van. The vehicle will accelerate on its own and I have to either throw the car into neutral or turn it off abruptly in order to stop the increase in speed. I have contacted the dealer I purchased it from and upon the first inspection, I was informed the mechanic could not duplicate the problem and did not find any mechanical issues. The problem has continued intermittently. . . Most recently in December 2013 while driving from new jersey to miami. I was taking an exit with an incline in maryland and as I began to accelerate, the speed increased at such a rate that I had to throw the van into neutral to stop the vehicle and prevent an accident. I have contacted the dealer on several occasions and the response I have received is that they cannot find a problem. The van accelerates without warning, around speeds up to 30mph and occurs whether I'm driving uphill, downhill, or on a flat surface. My last visit, with the same complaint, cost $1623. 45 and I am still having problems. I am very concerned that a safety issue is not being addressed and has the potential of causing injury to myself or others.
