All cars slow down on the on the highway at construction area due to some debris flow. I slow down immediately. After that my seatbelt belt not retracting (stop working) and air bag sign was displayed. I took the car to the dealer and also contact Honda (corporate) by live chat. Honda corporate mentioned the following warranty is part of the seat belt, srs system, and airbag. As per the Honda warranty, all repairs must be complete without any charges. But I got the attached invoice(cost of repair) to fix the issue with the srs system, seat belt, and air bag issue. According to the Honda warranty app parts and labour must include I opened a claim with Honda (case #14025524) but so far I didn't hear from them. As per my understanding safety issue related to my car must be fixed without any charge. Also, dealer must communicate with Honda. So far I open a claim with insurance but not required because Honda must take care of or look at the seat belt/air bag/srs system. As per my understanding issue with srs system and airbag are related with seat belt (part of on function) see attached diagnosis report from Honda dealer. Continues for 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. Warranty coverage Honda will, at its option, repair or replace any Honda seat belt component that fails to function properly during normal use. This includes all parts and labor charges.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving 65mph another vehicle lost contol and impacted the contacts vehicle which resulted in deployment of air bags; with the exception of driver side curtain airbag. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard where it was determined to be a total loss. The manufacturer has not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
My wife's Honda Odyssey, while crossing/turning a city road at a low speed, was hit (obvious from approximately 90 degree angle) near the front by a volkswagon beetle turbo moving at 35 miles or less per hour. Apparently, all the front airbags (the driver and passenger side all airbags) of the Odyssey were apparently explosively deployed destroying almost the entire front upper inside of the vehicle. We suspect the airbags (we do not know but they might be faulty takara airbags) might have prematurely deployed given the low speeds of the vehicles before the crash and minimal visible body damages. After the accident, volkswagon was perfectly driveable with very minimum visible damage to its front and was driven away without doubt. Please investigate whether the Odyssey air bags or any other manufacturing defects were at play during this accident. The Odyssey is currently at a bodyshop in virginia beach, va. Insurance agency has decided to total the vehicle apparently principally due to extensive cost of replacing all the airbags and related damages. I am the owner of the Odyssey. Attached are two photos. Your prompt response and action will be highly appreciated.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Odyssey. While the vehicle was parked and turned off, the front driver side curtain and driver seat air bags erroneously deployed. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 54,000.
Takata recall the seats are not stable while driving. Mosty turning on a highway. Air bag sign showing off during driving.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at 71 mph without warning, the front passenger's side curtain and passenger's front seat air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The diagnostic result was inconclusive. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was modified for wheel chair accessibility. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 700. Ah.
Brand new 2015 Honda Odyssey out of dealership, there was a hissing sound in the steering hub (passenger airbag assembly). Dealer checked and informed an issue with airbag assembly. After all these recalls, issue in 2015 model is the last thing to expect! safety hazard and very disappointing. Should have stuck to my time tested Toyota!.
I did not have an air bag incident. I bought a 2015 Honda Odyssey two weeks ago. I read the nyt article today, and called Honda to find out whether the air bags installed in my car are takata. Honda declined to tell me, stating that they don't give that information to consumers unless their specific vehicle is subject to recall. My complaint is that the issues leading to the recalls seem shrouded in non-disclosure, and that consumers should be able to find out information about their vehicles.
