Warning problems of the 2020 Honda Odyssey - part 2

The multipurpose camera above the rearview mirror has stopped working. It controls several systems including; adaptive cruise control, automatic brake system, forward collision warning, lane keeping assistance, lane departure warning, automatic high beam control. Every time I start the vehicle I have to clear 6 different malfunction warnings and non of the effected systems will function. There is an increased risk of accidents. I just had a vehicle diagnostic ran at flow Honda of charlottesville va and they quoted me a price of $2,060 to replace the part.

There are five warning indicator on the dashboard complaining about adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assistance. I took the car to the Honda dealership, and they acknowledged that they were due toan internal failure of the multipurpose camera.

On 6-11-24 the warning lights cycle through auto highbeam problem lane keeping assist adaptive cruise control collision mitigation system problem road departure mitigation system problem earlier in the day I had maintenance at the dealership performed on my car: brake fluid , trans svc,new tires and alignment, oil change and rotate tires, ac filter change, air cleaner element replaced. I went back to dealer on 7-1 and was told it was a multi purpose camera failure. This had not previously occurred until immediately after the maintenance work was performed.

At random the following would come on when driving or when starting the vehicle up. It would also reset itself at random. Very scary when you have small children in the van. 1. Collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) 2. Road departure mitigation system (rdm) 3. Lane keeping assist system (lkas) 4. Adaptive cruise control (acc) 5. Auto head lights the vehicle has not been in any collision. This started after a required update was installed. The code reader scan code does not match what is being stated. When you are using the cruise control then it would turn off. Brake warning will not work. The cable harness for the audio for the entire van was redone last summer 2023.

Multipurpose front camera failure causing adaptive cruise, lane keep, auto highbeams, and collision mitigation to be disabled at 51k miles, error code u3000-49.

In my area, there has been lots of heavy rain. There was a water leak on the interior rear driver side, causing the tailgate control module (tcm) to fail part # 74970-thr-a12 the tailgate trunk or 5th door is not working, will not open, will not activate. I took my 2020 Honda Odyssey my local dealership but no help. Many vans from Honda, years 2018-2021 are having this very same issue. Please help me resolved this matter. Honda should have a recall on this and replace at no charge.

The entire adas system has begun loosing sensing capabilities for a time period but start working again later. It comes and goes regularly at this point. This inconsistency could cause and accident. There are system problem warning lights on the dash when the system is down. The car is too new for this issue. The dealer reports that the front camera is the issue but I would think it has more to do with the wiring possibly shorting out.

Lkas, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning all malfunctioned. Dealer inspected and determined it is an overheated camera that controls all the mentioned safety functions. This happened while driving on highway and has never worked again. I did confirm with the dealer this is the 3 instance they have seen of this in the past 3 months.

After the last recall I had corrected by honds, I started having issues with my lkas system. The following notifications started coming periodically and now they always come on every time I start my 2020 Honda Odyssey. Adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation system, road departure mitigation system, and auto high-beam. The local Honda dealership quoted $1400 for a new camera.
