The sunroof exploded, causing the glass to shatter, while driving. The vehicle is available for inspection. The noise from the glass shattering caused ear pain, headache, and tinnitus, which has been evaluated by a doctor. State farm insurance has aided in the situation. The vehicle is in the body shop for repairs. The sunroof indicated no warning prior to the shattering of the glass.
The drivers side door mirror glass initially vibrated so it was impossible to see behind the vehicle. The glass fell out several times. After being repaired under warranty, the replacement glass that they put in now falls out.
Both the drive side view mirror and passenger side view mirror vibrate/shake while driving over a even small bumps and uneven pavement/road. I have noticed this since the vehicle was over 1000 miles. Took it in multiple times to dealership to replace the mirrors. They don’t take any action and state vibration is normal, unlike any other vehicles which doesn’t vibrate on such surfaces. This is a safety issue as the driver has to spend more time to check the mirrors for vehicles in blind spots. Now, vehicle has about 4500 miles. I have made 4 visits to dealership already including 3 visits to richfield bloomington Honda in richfield, minnesota: still no resolution. I have opened case with Honda America three weeks ago. They have been unsuccessful in getting responses from dealership.
Driver's side outdoor mirror is defective - a) on irregular payment ("not smooth") at any speed, this mirror vibrates and loses its vertical and horizontal position. Needs constant re-adjustment with power controls while driving or after vehicle is parked. Or both. B) at freeway speeds 45mph+ on smooth roads, it vibrates excessively and rapidly loses its viewing angle. C) at night on the freeway, mirror is unusable because of severe vibration with headlights in view. According to local Honda dealer's service department (Honda of thousand oaks, CA) this is a "known problem" and no repair or replacement is available since even replacement mirrors distributed by Honda have the same problem. Also, going back at least 2-3 years, all Honda vehicles with 6-cylinder engines have the same issue - Odysseys, passports, pilots, ridgelines, etc. Only the driver side mirror - the outside passenger mirror does not have these issues. I contacted american Honda corporate at the ceo level (see attached docs) and they eventually referred me to their customer car representative, "jocelyn" - she informed me that Honda engineering has no knowledge of this issue and therefore there's no service bulletin or "fix" under consideration. She said my only course of action is to have my local Honda dealer resolve the issue. Per the enclosed doc, I am in contact with the service manager at Honda thousand oaks, mr. Max picado, to arrange a visit so I can document their official response.
Both driver and passenger side rear-view mirror glass separated from base within 3 months of ownership. Glass is held to plastic base with adhesive. Similar to complaint from MD already submitted.
The driver’s side rear-view mirror glass started to vibrate two weeks ago. While driving at freeway speed, I noticed the mirror glass tilt/drop down and it looks as if it had come detached from the mirror body itself. I pulled over and was able to “click” the mirror glass back in, but it has vibrated again a few times since. I’m concerned that the glass will detach while on the road.
