Eight problems related to accelerator pedal have been reported for the 1998 Honda Passport. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving gas pedal broke off which could have caused a loss of control. Vehicle is currently at dealer's. Please provide further information.
Plastic clip broke off the accelerator pedal and pedal fell off. Dealer stated that it was a known problem and that Honda was seeking a fix.
Consumer questioned as to why he wasn't notified in a more timely fashion relative to the recalls. (nar).
When driving at 25 mph the engine check light came on and stayed on, and the air conditioner went out and was blowing out hot air. Check engine light is still coming on. Dealer replaced the gas cape, and the consumer was having problem with the exhaust system. Vehicle has been in the shop six times, and the dealer fixed everything. Consumer just got the vehicle out as of 11-05-98, and the accelerator pedal broke while the consumer was driving, and a metal piece was hanging down. The consumer used the metal part to drive when the accelerator pad broke.
Abs failure. Accelerator pedal broke off and part is not readily available.
Cracked accelerator pedal caused it to become stuck while driving.
While driving the accelerator pedal fell off, causing loss of availability to increase speed, cause unknown. Dealer cannot identify why this occurred. Please give any further details.
Sept 1998-recall: battery terminal Dec 1998-recall: accelerator pedal moulding April 2000 recall-rear suspension u bolt. Also, loose front hood, defective fuel gage.
