While driving various speeds and attempting to turn right or left, it required the contact to use extra effort to maneuver the vehicle. Additionally, there was smoke coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission, catalytic converter, and steering assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.
