My car will accelerate without me pressing the gas. And my airbag light is on I'm concerned it will explode like the ones on other Honda Pilots.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator light was illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 127,000. Ap.
2005 Honda Pilot, when I first start the car the in the morning the red indicator light for the seatbelt and airbag (drivers side airbag) on the dashboard comes on and stays on the entire day this includes stopping and turning off the engine, going into a store and coming back out, starting the engine again, continue driving for each day until I return back home. But at least two (2) days a month when I first start the car in the morning this same red indicator light on the dashboard stays off the entire day while driving the car. This includes stopping and turning off the engine, going into a store and coming back out and starting the engine again and continue driving for each day until I get back home. Each time the red indicator light is stays on or off for the day I drive my car I use city streets 25 mpr. And driving on the turnpike at 75 mph. This started in 2018.
Airbag srs indicator is on.
Takata recall- horn does not work at all. Was told that it's due to the airbag. In which the airbag light is on and I've had my horn checked and nothing seems to be wrong with it's connections.
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that after recieving a recall repair the front driver side warning air bag light is illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the crash sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The contact had not informed the manufacturer of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000. Gl.
I was in the dealership for an airbag recall. They took care of the recal and charged me $114 to diagnose the air bag light. Turns out its the front airbag sensor. This seems to be a common problem looking on online posts. Im pretty upset with the fact I had to pay $114 to find this out. The dealership fixes the recall then says its gonna cost me $380 to do the airbag sensor! im strongly thinking of pursuing legal action against Honda for their failure to make my vehicle safe to drive. Letting me leave with a disabled airbag system and not even caring because they got paid!.
My airbag light is on. I took my Pilot in for the recall and assumed that would fix the problem. After I picked up my vehicle I noticed that the airbag light is still on. The mechanics failed to notify me of the problem and said this is not related to the recall. This makes no sense to me since my vehicle has never been in an accident.
Above vehicle was taken to dealership, yonkers Ave Honda,500 yonkers avenue, yonkers NY 10704 to have safety recall performed and other routine maintenance on 2/26/15. Dealership was unable to do takata airbag recall because it did not have the part and they would notify me when part was available. A day later my red airbag light comes on in my vehicle and stays on. I am the original owner of this vehicle and this airbag bag light has never stayed on. I believe that the dealership checked the airbag during maintenance to verify what model it was , this was communicated to me by a yonkers Honda employee. After numerous phone calls between myself and their service manager it was agreed that I leave my vehicle with yonkers Honda until they could perform the recall. Vehicle was left with them on 3/7/15 and Honda provided loaner vehicle. It was not until 4/16/15 that yonkers Honda completed recall and I could pick up vehicle. Five days later red airbag light comes on again and stays on. I return to yonkers Honda where they do a diagnostic check ant they tell me it could be a airbag sensor that is not working and they would fix it at cost to me. I refuse to pay for a problem that I believe started the day I left their dealership on 2/26/2015. The dealership brought the vehicle out and now the red airbag light is not on. They have no explanation for this. On 6/3/15 the red airbag light goes on and stays on . I have called Honda and they say that they did the recall and they are not responsible for any other problems. They refuse to correct the problem at their cost. I would ask for your assistance to resolve this matter, I do not feel safe driving this vehicle but I only have one car and feel that I am been given the run around by both the dealership and Honda the company.
With the srs indicator constantly on, the dealer has advised me that both front bumper crash sensors must be replaced. He mentioned that due to their position they have a tendency of rusting out. Sounds like a design deficiency.
Recently my airbag light on the dash was not going off, took it in for a "$98. 90 diagnosis" for them to determine there is no signal from either impact sensor. This is a huge safety issue in my eyes and from what I have read many of these vehicles have had the same problem. I am being told it will cost me $477. 00 to fix this issue, $127 for parts and $350 for labor, I can't afford this right now. This is putting me and my family at risk. I am the original owner and haven't had an accident where the airbags have ever deployed, I hope I never do. You need to fix this Honda! make the right call and recall the 2005 Pilot for this issue please!.
Air bag indicator light came on after starting vehicle and stayed on while driving. Light stayed on consistently for up to 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, light illumination was intermittent. Took the vehicle to the dealer and dealer diagnosed that the right front air bag sensor was bad and needed to be replaced at a cost of $345. Dealer indicated this was not covered under warranty for the life of the vehicle. Noticed there have been many complaints for this same issue for the 2005 Honda Pilot. Also noticed there was a recall for this issue on the 2005 Honda odyssey. Why is there not a recall for this issue on the 2005 Honda Pilot? a device critical to the overal safety system of the vehicle, which is not a wear item on the vehicle, should not fail. If it does, it should be replaced at no cost ot the consumer.
My air bag light was on and I was not able to get an inspection sticker. I brought it to the Honda dealer in seekonk, MA to find out what was wrong and they said it was a sensor that needed to be replaced and cost $450. 00. I would think since this is a safety issue there was some recall ? they told me if I was hit on the left side of my car the airbag would not work. Not to mention I have already had to replace the engine in 2009! the car was only 4 years old.
While driving, airbag, (!), vsa, vtc and brake lights all lit up. Horn stopped working as did all controls from steering wheel (cruise, radio airbag light). I pulled over, everything seemed to work but lights would not turn off. Went to Honda in ft pierce, FL. Was told it's probably a low battery. Replaced battery, lights all stayed on. Contacted johnston Honda in stuart, FL. Head mechanic told me he had no idea what would cause this and if he ran it on diagnostics, it could take 8 hours at $80 an hour and he still may not find the problem. Brought this lemon to local mechanic who ran on diagnostics for 2 hours. Could not find problem so he did not charge. As almost all other complaints above, while driving at 35 to 40 the car starts to shudder as though it will turn off. Was told it's possibly defective motor mounts. I have contacted american Honda motor works in California with these issues and they essentially told me to 'gfy'. Stated car is not their problem.
Srs indicator light will not go out. Reset mes - and cleared memory. Srs light still active. Mechanic found problem with front airbag sensor. Luckily no incident at this time, but can't find warranty coverage data?! or recall despite numerous complaints like this!.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Pilot. While driving approximately 50 mph, the air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously. The failure recurred on several occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 32,731.
I drive a 2005 Honda Pilot. My safety restraint indicator light came on a few days ago. Upon checking with the dealer, the system airbag contacts were found to be defective and need to be replaced. Thankfully, I have an extended warranty that covers repair, which is costly. My colleague also drives a 2005 Honda (element) and had the same indicator light come on within two days of mine. He doesn't have an extended warrranty. The coincidence is too much. There must be something wrong with the safety restraints on 2005 Hondas. Others must be experiencing similar issues.
Srs airbag light came on my 2005 Honda Pilot for no apparent reason.
