The sensors on pull code and note 41-11 no signal from lf impact sensor. Dealer is telling me that I have to replace this because my air bags will not deploy. This is a manufacturer defect. I have never been in a accident where any of my airbags have deployed. Why wasn't my car included in a recall? this could potentially kill me . I drive my kids in this car.

5 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2016

Takata recall. . . Please note my car was up to date on all service recalls for my 2005 Honda Pilot. On may 13, 2016 I was involved in an accident where both vehicles were completely totalled. I was hit on the drivers side door (at a angle approx where the firewall is located) all the airbags failed to deploy which everyone assisting with the accident from the firemen, policemen, emts, and hospital employees commented on in surprise. The other car hit mine so hard that my car ended up facing oncoming traffic and the impact caused the other vehicle to fishtail and resulted in his right rear quarter panel making contact with my left quarter panel as well. My vehicle's floor buckled and the drivers side door was so damaged that the firemen had to pry it open to extract me. This happened while both cars were in motion on a main street. I was struck by the other vehicle after taking a left hand turn after stopping at a stop sign exiting from a highway.

7 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2015

I did not have an incident. I am just reporting that I had to have the driver's side airbag sensor replaced in my Honda Pilot at a mileage of 204,000. After reading through online forums, several other Honda Pilot owners reported air bags not deploying during accidents and problems with airbag sensors. When I had the problem fixed at my local Honda dealer, I asked if this problem would be reported to Honda. The manager told me no it wouldn't. I asked how they kept track of problems then if they didn't monitor common repairs and problems with their vehicles. He said he doesn't know and didn't know who I should contact. This repair was $220 in August of 2015. The airbag sensor light indicator was lit on my dashboard for well over a year, maybe two years until we had the problem fixed. I think Honda should include this potentially serious problem in a recall!.

8 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2015

I was moving less than five mph as I started to move after stopping at a 4 way stop sign in a parking lot. A 2013 Chevrolet impala moving approximately 45mph struck my vehicle broadside at the driver side front wheel causing personal injury and resulting in damage causing my Honda Pilot to be declared a total loss. Despite this level of impact the side curtain airbag did not inflate or activate in any way. . I deliberately looked for safety equipment when shopping for a replacement to our previous vehicle. A major reason I chose the 2005 Honda Pilot exl-dvd was the side curtain airbags. However when I was struck broadside by another vehicle with enough force that the Pilot was declared a total loss the side airbag failed to deploy. This failure to deploy thereby causing my head to impact on the driver's side door frame hard enough to cause a large lump on the side of my head and resulting in concussion and other injuries. Some of the injuries are permanent and I am still in severe pain and being treated by multiple doctors eighteen months after the collision with no improvement nor any current outlook for recovery! I now have a permanent hearing loss as well as tinnitus preventing me from having even a few minutes of peace & quiet! while the accident was the fault of the driver that ran a stop sign and "t-boned" my car, had the air bag deployed I strongly feel it would have prevented my head from the severe impact with the metal frame of the Honda Pilot and I would not have spent the last eighteen months in pain severe enough to prevent me from having a normal life! many days the pain has kept me in bed for most of the day as well as keeping me from sleeping at night!.

9 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2014

The airbag warning light is lit. First intermittently, now constantly. Was diagnosed ($120 at burns Honda for taking a reading off on-board computer) to be a faulty right-front impact sensor. The dealership is out of the part, so I need to wait for it to be shipped. The car was never in an accident, the air bags never deployed. The sensor just stopped working (rusted out?). The same thing happened a couple of months prior with a wheel speed sensor. Do Honda's electronics parts have operational life of 100,000 miles? I feel the airbag sensors should be recalled, and replaced at the manufacturer's expense.

10 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2014

Vehicle was taken to dealership for recall on other parts and we told them the airbag safety restraint light has been on for several months. We were told the diagnosis would cost 38 dollars plus tax. They diagnosed faulty left and right front airbag sensors. They told us in an accident the airbags would not deploy. This item would not be covered under warranty and would have to be done at our expense. After much objection they said " sorry theres nothing we can do about it". With that we were told we would have to schedule the repair at a later date and parts would have to be ordered. The dealer sent us on our way knowing if we crashed, especially in a front end impact, the airbags on their product they sold to us as "safe for the whole family" would not deploy. Unacceptable!! please help.

11 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2013

This incident has happened on a few occasions with me driving the vehicle and additionally with my wife driving (she drives it the most). I started the vehicle, placed it in gear and started to drive it up the street. As I approached a traffic light, I glanced at the speedometer, and noticed the maintenance required and srs light on. This puzzled me because we never experienced any issues with the vehicle other than regular maintenance lights (filters, oil change, etc). I turned the vehicle off for a few seconds, restarted it and the light went out. Afew weeks later, it happened again. The difference was that this time I noticed it right after putting the vehicle in drive and driving off. Thinking it happened because of a possible glitch in the ignition, I immediately pulled over and turned the vehicle off and restarted it. Just like the first time, the light didn't come back on. The 3rd time it happened, it remained on the entire time I drove and to and from the grocery store. Now, it pretty much does it intermittently - cycling intermittent to steady at various times. After searching online for recalls, I read several complaints from drivers in various states (USA), they are experiencing the same problem and have voiced it to Honda but they haven't issued a recall; thus stating that the airbag may not deploy during an accident and they are not responsible. Instead Honda dealers are willing to charge approx. $120 for diagnostics and $300+ for repair - which is entirely unfair to us consumers. However Honda, issued a recall on the 2005 Honda odyssey which had very similar (if not exact) problems with its srs. Honda is aware of this issue and doesn't seem to care about the safety of the motorists. This is clearly a safety issue and need to be recalled on these vehicles.

12 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2013

The airbag/seatbelt light came on while pulling out of a parking space. The vehicle has never been in any accidents. Many Honda Pilot owners are having the same problem. Honda says they are not responsible if the airbag does not deploy in an accident. This a known issue Honda should do a recall.

13 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 10/29/2012

I am the original owner of a 2005 Honda Pilot exl. The srs light came on while driving the vehicle and did not go off. There has been no impact to the vehicle. Upon inspection, the Honda dealership stated that the passenger front impact sensor failed. The sensor must be replaced at a cost of $305. If not replaced, the airbag would not be deployed in an accident. There have been similar incidents reported by other 2005 Honda Pilot owners and this issue should be addressed by NHTSA.

16 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2011

On or about October of 2011 I was driving my 2005 Honda Pilot when another vehicle cut in front of me and a collision occurred (t-bone). To by disbelief the airbag did not deploy. A few weeks later I asked an employee of a Honda dealership about the airbag not deploying and he indicated to me that inside of the front bumper there is a gold ball and before the airbag can deploy it must have a direct center hit with another object. In my opinion the hit from the accident was about as direct as you can get it. I believe that there might be a defect of the airbag for not deploying.

17 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2010

The contact owns a 2005 Honda Pilot. While driving 45 mph, the contact was involved in a crash. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained cervical radiculopathy, knee replacement, shoulder reconstruction, and numbness in his hands. A passenger sustained injuries to the neck. A police report was filed. The dealer advised the contact to call the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer repaired the entire left front suspension, steering, anti sway bar, and the front wheel. The current and failure mileages were 100,000.

18 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2010

I am the original owner of a 2005 Honda Pilot. My problem is that the airbag light has come on in my vehicle. I was told by the dealership that my airbags will not deploy in case of a crash. I had to initially pay 100 dollars just to get them to look at it and now I am having to wait up to 2 months for the part that is backordered. I am very scared that something may happen and I will not be protected.
