The forward facing camera has failed causing the cruise control automatic, breaking land departure, and other various electrical problems due to the malfunction of the camera.
This morning 01/30/2024, I was travelling in the right lane of two on the highway. The vehicle slowed rapidly just about to a stop. I barely had time to pull to the right shoulder. I narrowly was struck from a vehicle travelling behind. This was from one of the safety mechanisms in the Pilot SUV I think the lane departure sensor. This was very scary. I feel this is a huge safety concern and need to report it. If I didn't have a shoulder what the heck would have happened to me. I probably would have been struck from behind and who knows possibly injured or worse. The shoulder was approximately 8 ft wide thankfully. Later that morning it did the same thing but this time many error messages appeared. Thankfully this time there was nobody behind me and was able to pull to the right shoulder again. The error messages are as follows 1) adaptive cruise control problem 2) brake system problem 3) power steering system problem 4) vehicle stability assist problem 5) hill start assist problem 6) trail stability assist problem 7) collision mitigation system problem 8) road departure mitigation system problem. The engine lost power and would not shift properly. About 15 minutes later the vehicle drove normal. The error messages were still there. I parked my car upon arrival to work. I saw that the rear brake lights stayed illuminated as if the brakes were depressed but they were not. I had no tools to disconnect the battery and the rear lights stayed on for the next several hours. I returned to the vehicle and thankfully it started. The vehicle error lights were still there on the dash. I put the vehicle in gear and started my way home. Again, the engine lost power and would not shift properly. About 15 minutes later the vehicle drove normal. The error messages were still there. I parked my car at my house and the rear lights were still illuminated. I had to disconnect the battery so the battery would not be drained and/or ruined. I feel like this is a severe safety issue.
The forward facing camera on the windshield is failing and warning lights on the dashboard keep going off making the adas system inoperative. This is also draining the battery. I am told that only Honda has the capability to troubleshoot and repair / replace this camera.
All my dash warning lights started coming on for adaptive cruise control, abs, lkas, front collision mitigation, road departure mitigation. They all came on at once. I took it to Honda and they said it’s a front camera issue and I’d need to pay $1800 to replace it. Researching it online, I’ve seen many Pilot owners that have had this same issue.
The acc, lkas, collision mitigation, high beam, lane departure warnings light errors are on. This happened 2 years ago and Honda wanted me to pay $1,200 to replace all sensors of this car. Of course I just left it. It's not worth the hassel. However, for a car bought brand new in 2019 to have these systems fail in 2023, and for this to be a main component advertised for consumers to buy vehicles, it is not good. We pay thousands of dollars for a car because it has these safety features only for it to fail within 4 years and then expect the customer to pay over $1,000 to fix, is simply not right.
Cms is not working. Just stopped.
The Honda sense camera failed due to an internal fault just outside the manufacturer's warranty. Dealership was needed to replace it in order to regain function at out of pocket cost. Upon the camera failing the driver is met with 5 warning lights that the following are no longer active: lkas, acc, automatic braking\forward collision warning, adaptive headlights, and lane mitigation system. You have to clear each of these before you can use the main dash (including mph). Cruise control is completely disabled. Although there is no asserted timeline for the life of the camera, research shows (and dealership sates) that this is a known issue. Reaching out to Honda's technical support team returns a somewhat blanket response stating that although campaigns exist for other issues with my VIN it is my monetary responsibility to handle this particular issue, although I was writing to the campaign department to add to the growing list of those with this particular issue in hopes of moving toward a recall, not because I expected there was one in place for this issue. For reference, vehicle was parked when issue began.
The cars Smart car controls stopped working. Acc, collision mitigation system, lkas, road departure mitigation, and auto high beam problem warning lights are on.
The acc and lkas do not work on my 2019 Honda Pilot. The dealer is saying that it is the front windshield camera. This put me and others at risk because the cruise control doesn't work, the lane assist dosen't work, the auto braking doesn't work. These controls are meant to help curb driver fatigue, and to basically keep your car in the proper lane and a safe distance from other cars. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and can be fixed by the dealer by replacing the camera to the tune of $1900. 00. When you start the car you will get several warning messages about the acc, braking system and lkas not working. A recall should be put in place there are thousands of people experiencing this problem with several of the Honda models.
Was driving normal and the windshield camera radar fail, and a lot of warning lights come on, take to a dealer and told me that some internal part of the camera fail, and need to be replace, they estimate for that is $1600, now I’m driving with out automatic brake, no cruise control, no line keeping assistant, 2019 Honda Pilot ex-l, I think is a common problem and need to recall this,. Thank you.
When I turned on my vehicle errors started coming up collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto high beam problem, adaptive cruise control problem and lane keeping assist problem. Also has orange brake system highlighted. Unable to use any of the safety features mentioned as well as cruise control. Took vehicle to Honda dealer on February 6th and was informed the camera behind the rearview mirror had gone bad. There were no warnings prior. I had driven the vehicle around and stopped to get gas and when I turned it back on all the errors begun to appear. This was the first time they appeared and they have been there since as the dealer wanted over $1800 to repair this. After looking on the internet/facebook Honda Pilot group there have been several others that have had this same issue with their 2019 Honda Pilot.
Acc while driving on I-15 a warning appeared on the control panel “warning the acc has malfunctioned” within the last 90 days this occurred 6 times. Now the acc has stopped working.
