1 Fuel Pump problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2026

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal ticking sound coming from the vehicle. The accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the ticking sound was persistent. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with fuel pump failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.

2 Fuel Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2025

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
