Upon inspection, the contact became aware that the hood latch was inoperable and failed to properly secure the hood. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 158,819.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 21v932000 (structure, latches/locks/linkages). The contact stated that the hood was not latching properly. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the dealer stated that the vehicle needed to be taken to the collision center. The vehicle was taken to the collision center and the hood was replaced; however, not all the needed parts were available. The vehicle was not completely repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact to seek assistance from the collision center. The failure mileage was 25,000.
