On the way to work while driving, navigation screen and speedometer screen went blank/black and stayed off for 3 days until I could get it into the dealership. I had to continue to drive back and forth to work 4 miles each way. Backup camera didn't work nor did usb cable. Car had approximately 4,500 miles on it at the time. This happened Tuesday March 3, 2020.

When accelerating the vehicle begins to shudder, jerk and lose power while accelerating from 0-40mph. Sterring wheel begins to shake, acceleration seems to stall. At higher speeds on freeway there is some shuddering but not as noticable. Braking or reducing speed does not immediately stop the shuddering. Its almost predictable at low speeds. Loss of power during acceleration feels as if the vehicle could stall especially when turning left with on coming traffic approaching.

When accelerating from a low speed, such as entering a parking lot from the roadway or entering a roadway from a parking lot, the engine does not respond to my pressing on the accelerator. After a few seconds, the car lurches forward. This only happens when accelerating from a very low speed, about 10 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice and an accelerator module was replaced, but there has been no change, the problem still exists. The danger is very serious when trying to enter the flow of traffic from a lot or side street. Very often, it takes much too long to reach the speed of the existing traffic. The dealer explained that there is no longer a cable connection between the accelerator pedal and the engine, it is now "fly by wire". There seems to be a disconnect between my pressing the accelerator at a low speed and the engine responding immediately.

When driving down the interstate with the cruise control activated, a slight turn to pass another vehicle shut the cruise control off (no dashboard light indicator, as if you shut it off). Turning the steering wheel back reactivate the cruise control (dash light back on), though not engaged, as if you hit the brakes. The problem got progressively worse over time; the 'dead' spot in the cruise control eventually disabled the control from coming on at all. The dealership repaired this 2 year, 11 month old car for $377. 00. The defective part is a 'cable reel assembly' that shorted out, according to the dealership. I considered it a safety hazard; they did not.

Tl-the contact owns a 2003 Honda Pilot ex. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, he noticed that the accelerator pedal had become difficult to depress. The vehicle resumed normal operation after several minutes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was advised that the throttle body cable failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown. The current mileage was approximately 177,000. The VIN was unavailable. Kmj.

I'm not of that scared of sticking gas pedals kind on person. Just want to file this incident to probably help others to avoid problems in the future. After car being parked for three weeks at airport when first started it I had and issue with the stuck gas pedal. Fortunately I was in the parking gear when I first pressed the pedal, otherwise could be an accident on the parking lot if I was in the drive gear. I just pulled the pedal back with my toe and pressed and pulled it couple times more before it started working ok. Before that I felt it little mushy after long parking periods especially in the relatively cold days in georgia autumn/winter but it was coming away after driving the car daily. When I got back home I rectified the problem by pouring some oil in the throttle cable jacket and lubricated the pedal axis as well. Had no problems since than so far.
: the contact stated after backing out of the driveway, the vehicle was put in drive and the accelerator pedal was depressed multiple times. When the vehicle responded it surged forward. The accelerator pedal continued to stick. At 1034 miles, the dealership determined the pedal was sticking and cleaned the throttle body. The dealership stated the manufacturer was making an upgrade for the component. When the upgrade was available, it was installed. Two months later the accelerator pedal started sticking again. The dealership replaced the gasket and cleaned the throttle body at 3395 miles. The vehicle worked properly in warmer conditions. The accelerator pedal began sticking while driving 9 months after the previous repair. The throttle body was cleaned again, the mechanic stated the vehicle was not repaired, but the vehicle was to be taken home. The vehicle began to accelerate on a bridge and the contact had to drive in oncoming traffic to avoid hitting other vehicles. When the vehicle was off the bridge, the contact depressed the brake pedal and turned the ignition off. The mechanic from the dealership retrieved the vehicle from that location and determined it took 2 feet to stop the vehicle. A new throttle body was installed. The manufacturer determined it was an environmental problem and the throttle body would have to be cleaned every 15,000 miles. The throttle body had been replaced twice in 16,000 miles. In an effort to improve the vehicle, a new cable was installed to the throttle body 2 days ago, although there are no current problems.
