My current 2020 Pilot has presented a failure/ malfunction at the multipurpose camera in the front side resulting on the most important safety advance drivers assistance systems to not to work (collision mitigation system, road departure mitigation system, auto high beam, lane keeping assist, automative emergency breaking). This malfunction for this safety device could put at risk my family while driving since system got deactivated for no reason and will not respond to under unexpected situation while driving. I notice several messages on my dashboard then I confirmed safety componentes where bypassed and not activated not working properly. The problem was reporte at a dealer, then vehicle device was inspected and confirmed by the dealer that the safety multipurpose camera has a malfunction. Prior to the failure there were no messages or symptoms, just stops working without advice. Safety devices must he operative at all time, me vehicle is in very good condition and not more that 6 years old.

I leased this vehicle in oct2019 and then brought this vehicle and till date did 44710 miles and on 2/25 we had multiple warnings on the dashboard regarding lane assist failure, adaptive cruise control, break system failure, forward collision failure and many more warnings, we took it to Honda dealer to investigate and they said that he don’t monocular camera has to be replaced with a estimate cost of $2395, when searched online there are many customers of the 2019 model facing the same problem and are subjected to such high repair cost. I believe that this is a faulty part from Honda and needs to be recalled and fixed as this impacts critical safety functions.

Acc and road departure mitigation system would become disabled for no apparent reason. A message would display on the instrument panel that there is a problem, to see your dealer. Also, a collision mitigation braking system problem would display on the instrument panel with a brake system warning light. A display on the instrument panel would show an area to clean (Honda emblem on front grill). I tried to clean this area several times to no avail. The weather was clear and warm when this occurred. The system has returned to normal on its own.

My rear view camera went out and it is a $2,000 fix. Can this please be a recall? I know many others this has happened to as well.
The front camera is kicking a code of u3000-49 so now none of my safety features work nor is Honda 100% certain on how to fix his issue. I've spoken to Honda and no one can provide a clear answer. I'm not driving my car with my 2 small children because it's the only car I have and none of my safety features are working due to the damage from the front camera. I've been told by a glass service, it's likely due to heat damage as Honda's front camera are known for this. This could cause so many issue, especially since Honda isn't giving any feedback on how to correct this issue.
Collision mitigation braking system camera failure indictions appeared in the dashboard control center. I took the vehicle to the Honda dealership who stated there is not an active recall and that this was not a covered expense. Out of caution because I have read of the system failues causing brake lock-up related to over 40 vehicular crashes and almost twice that number of injuries, I decided to immediately obtain this $2,000 repair. I contact Honda of America to start a claim for a goodwill reimbursement and they told me only (and repeatedly) that the vehicle was too old, out of warranty and that they would not consider reimbursement of the repair to this integrated and vital safety system. The national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) has documented 2,976 complaints involving unintended automatic braking in Honda vehicles, with 47 crashes and 93 injuries reported. These issues involve Honda vehicles equipped with camera-based collision mitigation braking systems similar to the one used in the 2017 Pilot. Because this failure involves a core safety system component, and because there -documented evidence of system-wide safety investigations -thousands of consumer complaints -shared safety technology across the Honda lineup I requested reimbursement from Honda America. They made zero effort to acknowledge this safety system fault and clearly stated they would not reimburse me nor would the customer service representative provide me with any guidance on how to further pursue the matter. Nhtsa complaints involving the 2017 Honda Pilot reference failures involving the collision mitigation braking system, lane keeping assist system, and adaptive cruise control warnings, all systems dependent on the same forward-facing camera architecture. Front multipurpose camera replacement was the final repair needed and not reimbursed.

Multiple problems flashing. Including cmbs problem, lane keeping assist problem, road departure warning, adaptive cruise control problem. The car also did an unexpected slow down while driving when there was no obstruction in front of me driving. This was a major safety issue as I could have been rear-ended.
The front windshield camera is causing the brake system error light to come on and triggering the safety system to malfunction. This failed camera system disables safety features and causes lane assist, cruise control , lighting features, back-up camera, driving assist, and the collision system to be disabled, causing a major safety concern. This front camera system has failed and has been diagnosed by the certified Honda dealer that my vehicle was purchased from. My vehicle is 4 years old and has 35k miles, and the system has failed. Each component was inspected and issues diagnosed by the dealer. The warning light first displayed on the dashboard and showed as a "brake system" error light. Under the break system error 6 errors displayed they read : 1) adaptive cruise control problem 2) lane keeping assist problem 3) collision mitigation system problem 4) road departure mitigation system problem 5) auto-high beam problem 6) transmission system problem.

All of the warning lights came on, cruise doesnt work. Dealership told me my camera in the wind shield stopped working. I was given a 2,1000$ estimate from harvest Honda in yakima, wa. My car had 84,000 miles on it. No impact to the windshield. It just stopped. I took it to mckinney glass to see if it could possibly be a calibration issue. They confirmed what the dealership told me. It’s defective.
My wife drives this vehicle daily with our 3 children all of sudden these warning lights come trailer stability assist problem road departure mitigation system problem power steering system problem emission system problem vehicle stability assist problem hill start assist problem the last time this happen was 1/28/2026 took it to the dealer 1/31/2026 showed the association the video he said he has not heard of this but mostly caused by the battery. They looked at the battery all is well. If it happens again to bring it in he said. This was the 3rd time this happens the warning lights will go off. Took it to auto zone and they could not find the caused. This is dangerous to happen and unacceptable. Based on social media multiple people have this issue and causinga safety concern. What would it take for Honda to fix this. Please make a recall!!.
Vehicle information: 2021 Honda Pilot elite component: forward collision avoidance: camera system lane departure: lane keeping assist advanced driver assistance systems (adas) failure description: the windshield-mounted forward-facing camera (lane keeping assist system / Honda sensing camera) failed without warning on my 2021 Honda Pilot elite. This camera is mounted behind the windshield and controls multiple advanced safety systems, including lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and collision mitigation braking. There were no warning lamps, dashboard messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure. The malfunction appeared randomly approximately one month ago. The issue was diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Honda dealer service department. I was informed that the windshield-mounted camera system requires replacement and was quoted approximately $1,800 for the repair. Because this repair is extremely expensive and currently unaffordable, I have lost multiple critical safety features. The vehicle no longer has functioning lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, or related Honda sensing technologies. The sudden and complete loss of these safety systems significantly reduces vehicle safety and increases the risk of unintended lane departure or reduced collision avoidance capability for myself, my passengers, and others on the road. I believe a critical safety system should not fail without warning and should not be this costly to repair, especially when its failure disables multiple core safety features. This is a known issue across multiple threads and owners and Honda should take ownership and recall this issue. The vehicle and failed component are available for inspection upon request.

January 2026 multiple dashboard warning lights stating acc problem, lkas problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, and auto high-beam problem. 3/18/26 took vehicle into local Honda dealership where they ran diagnostics with the results showing the "multi purpose camera unit internal failure. " they checked wiring and connector which were ok so dealership is recommending replacement of camera and recalibration.
The windshield camera has malfunctioned causing 5 different safety warnings to appear and these functions are unavailable now. It has been evaluated by a dealership and they claim that it has to be replaced at a cost of $2100. This is a pretty widespread issue in these Pilots with varying mileage. I would expect much better from a Honda product.
Front camera sensor (behind rear view mirror) has failed prematurely therefore causing multiple dash lights to come on such as acc, lkas, collision mitigation system, brake system. Confirmed battery is not the issue as it is in great condition.
Problems started showing on car a week ago. Tested battery and it was not holding a charge. Replaced battery and problem still persisted. Car is now at dealership and they are quoting close to $2000 due to failure for internal windshield camera. Car has right over 78k miles. This is a safety issue.
All of the lights on the dash came on and the power steering stopped working while driving on the highway. I was in the number one lane and had to merge across four lanes to pull over with no power steering. I shut the car off and waited a few minutes. The lights were still on the dash but the power steering was working. This is the second time this has happened in the last two weeks.
Issue with the forward collision sensor, lane keep departure, and adaptive speed control. It has a mind of its own if it works or not. Some times it working then while drive the warnings and dings start going off while driving. There isn't a way to use cruise control if there is an issue with the system.
After driving my car from the dealer after purchase all the safety features have warning lights on the dash. Break system error ,electric power steering problem ,road departure mitigation problem, collision mitigation problem, lane keep assist problem, adaptive cruise control problem, tsa problem, hill start assist problem, vsa problem, abs problem, electric parking brake problem. Its seems like all of the safety features are not working. I took the car to the dealer and said it was just a battery issue, they went ahead and replace the battery but it was still the same, all the error message came out soon after driving from the dealer service department. After that they said they will replace the speed wheel sensor. I got my car back hopefully that resolved the issues. This cars should not pass qc, this problem happened right after driving the vehicle of the dealer lot after purchase.
Emissions system problem- unknown reason.
Camera unit failure causing failure of safety systems and resultant safety issues.

Multiple lights, for acc, lane departure, forward collision warning, and lane keeping assistance system. None of the systems works. Safety of myself and others put at risk due to systems not working and preventing collision. The problem was confirmed by the dealer. Multipurpose camera not operating, required replacement of camera for systems to operate.
The front camera which controls all of the safety features went out! 1 week ago. It has been confirmed and I am now having to pay almost $2700. 00 to have it fixed. I am really upset to see how many issues this year of the car has. And the fact that Honda has known about it since 2019 and did nothing to fix them. There are 318 complaints on this car and I’m guessing over half of them have to do with the front camera. It is showing 5 safety codes.
My 2019 Honda Pilot randomly started showing all these errors at once: lkas, collision mitigation problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto highbeam problem, adaptive cruise control problem. After speaking with the Honda dealership, they said this is a chronic problem with 2018 to new Honda vehicles. He stated he's unsure why there is not a recall for this yet. They stated that the issue is the front dash camera, which will need replacement. Replacement is around $2,000.
Lane departure front facing projection camera suddenly went out disabling multiple safety features of the car. The part number for the car is 36160-tg8-a83. This car only has ~86,000 miles and this is unacceptable. This failure disables the lane keep assist, lane departure, auto high/low beam, adaptive cruise control, auto braking safety features and causes the brake light system light to come on. Apparently, this is a common issue and should be investigated. The parts are on back order nationally and good luck finding a used one.
I own a 2020 Honda Pilot ex with approximately 58,000 miles. Every time I drive on two-lane roads, I receive a bright orange “brake” warning from the automatic emergency braking system when vehicles in the opposite lane are passing by. The system falsely detects an imminent collision, even though the oncoming vehicles are safely in their lane. The system then applies the brakes unnecessarily. Most of the time it brakes mildly, but on at least two occasions it has braked very hard, causing the vehicle behind me to nearly rear-end my car. This creates a significant and dangerous situation, as it could easily cause an accident. I now have to disable the automatic braking system every time I drive. During my last drive, after disabling the system, I received a warning message stating: “abs failure — take to dealer. ” I have also experienced dangerous behavior from the lane departure warning/assist system. When exiting the freeway, if the lane lines disappear or become unclear, the vehicle has slammed on the brakes suddenly. On one occasion, this caused me severe whiplash. Thankfully, I was alone in the car — if my young children had been passengers, they could have suffered serious neck injuries. I have taken the vehicle to the Honda dealer and independent mechanics. Each time, they have only cleared the codes and told me it was due to “dirty sensors. ” the warnings and braking issues, however, keep coming back. This issue is persistent, reproducible, and unsafe. The automatic emergency braking, lane departure, and abs systems are not functioning properly and create a real danger to myself, my passengers, and other drivers on the road.
The dashboard looks like a christmas tree all the brake lights are on, I googled this and its supposedly a known issues. I'm not sure if the brakes are safe or not.
To whom it may concern, I am submitting this complaint through the national highway traffic safety administration regarding a serious and unresolved safety-related defect on my 2019 Honda Pilot (VIN: [xxx] ]). The vehicle’s front camera system failed, disabling essential safety features including lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and collision mitigation braking. These systems are part of Honda’s advanced driver assistance system (adas) and are integral to safe vehicle operation. Their failure constitutes a critical safety defect, not a routine maintenance issue. Misrepresentation by american Honda I was initially assigned to a case manager named christian at american Honda. During our recorded phone conversations, christian falsely claimed that the discount I received from the dealership was provided by american Honda, even though the dealership is an independent franchisee and american Honda has no control or direct relationship over the dealership. Upon direct inquiry, the dealership confirmed that the discount was offered solely through my business account and my relationship with them and had no connection to american Honda. When I requested written confirmation of this claim, american Honda refused to provide any documentation, despite the fact that all conversations were recorded by them. These recordings contain critical evidence of misrepresentation and should be reviewed as part of this dispute. If necessary, I am prepared to request that these recordings be subpoenaed for formal review. Ongoing safety concerns prior to the complete failure of the camera, I experienced multiple false collision warnings, including dashboard alerts, steering wheel vibration, and automatic braking — even when vehicles were traveling in the opposite direction and posed no threat. These false activations were not only alarming but dangerous, and they indicate a pattern of malfunction in the camera system long before its final failure. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.
Acc, lkas, collision avoidance, and other safety features lights all came on at once.
The adas camera has failed. It is extremely common. When it fails, all the lights for every system of adas comes on. None of them work. And it is not possible to turn off. Furthermore it sets codes for the brakes and turns on the brake warning lights. So none of the brake assist systems work either. Honda refuses to warranty any of these systems when the camera fails. It is across their entire line of vehicles with adas. If they can’t build a functional system, it should not have the system. Also, the system functions extremely poorly, when it was operating. It will drive the vehicle, unassisted, down to 20 mph, then just shuts off and lets the vehicle coast, unguided. Also, if the cruise is set and lane keeping on, and it can’t find lane lines, particularly where lanes merge, it will often veer left, into oncoming traffic. I have tested both of these, when the system was functioning “correctly”. The cruise and lane keeping just shuts off, at any speed, and lets the car go where ever it would without input. It is extremely dangerous.
I have photos, but unable to up load at this time. Suddenly, 9 different consecutive warning messages with bell associated with each, appeared on the instrument panel. The barrage of these 9 messages continued until I shut the engine off. I was in a very congested parking lot when this began. The Pilot was subsequently checked for codes and battery condition. The evidence suggests the vsa modulator. The messages continue when powered up with or without the engine running. Lane keep assist problem. Lkas all wheel drive system problem. Vsa problem. Acc adaptive cruise control problem problem. Road departure mitigation system problem. Collision mitigation system problem. Collision mitigation system problem. Tsa trailer stability assist problem. Hill start assist problem. Power steering system (eps) problem. Plus: awd, brake system and steering caution lights remain on continuously. I am very glad we were not towing our travel trailer this week.
The 2021 Honda Pilot would randomly flash brake, which would lock up the steering wheel, electronic warnings going off when nothing was there, and then all of the cmbs warnings came on. Dealer charged for diagnosis, and requires $2,300. 00 to fix the sensor. The vehicle was never in an accident, and various ghost electronic issues would be present over the last few years before the system failed with multiple warnings.
All warning lights triggered on by faulty rear view camera sensor making one unable to discern if there is a true issue with one of the systems.
The front camera driving assist malfunctioned, causing all driving safety mitigation to be stopped. This is not an issue due to the driver, it is an issue with the camera either malfunctioning from heat from sun exposure or being faulty due to manufacturing issues. I reported to auto national Honda valencia & they said it would cost approximately $2200 to fix. Dash light did come on and are continuing to go on until the faulty camera is replaced.
My 2019 Honda Pilot has 47817 miles on it. Purchased new from dealership. Been garaged entire life other than normal routine driving. Recently had adas warning lights. Reported the problem to Honda hq in torrance California. They issued a claim number. I took it to Honda dealer where it was diagnosed with error code u3000-49. They quoted me approx $2600 to replace and calibrate the new multi purpose camera. When reviewing the internet for others with similar problem I noticed this was a safety issue that was far too common among relatively new Honda vehicles. I received a discount from Honda and had the service. The discount was only given when I complained about this issue as well as my 2013 Honda Pilot I purchased brand new which the clear coat paint started to come off the roof and hond of the vehicle about a month after I purchased my 2019 Honda. When reporting the problem with the 2013 Pilot losing the clear coat back in 2019 Honda told me it was too late for them to do anything. Honda should have recalled vehicles with peeling clear coat as well as the defective adas system.
Had veh fixed for fuel injection issues in 2023 paid 1500 repair complained to handa America and they paid it. . Car was still under warranty. . Recall fuel injection in Feb 2025 after Honda buena park fixed it had same hesitation issues between 30 50 mph after just 2 weeks after repair. Took it back had to pay 250 for dialysis no answer. . Wanted 3000 to attempt to fix it but no guarantees. . Took car to local auto parts store hooked car to analysis problem and it says ecm is issue. Now why is a local auto parts store able to find problem for free but Honda wants 3000 to guess. Honda America was no help. This is now the 3rd issues with fuel system only have 77000 miles on this car.
